Love the videos you've put out. This is the only one I've seen missing a hab module. The Frontier has a unique All-in-one habit. It has a bit more decor. The only ways to get this hab is to keep it from the Frontier and delete everything else. It's not a big deal. I just wanted people to know that Nova is technically the only manufacturer that has 2 options for all in one berths.
The "unique" Frontier hab is just the Nova Galactic All-in-one A (the one with the research station). The only differences are that it has some of Barret's personal belongings in it (which end up in your cargo every time you change the ship at all) and its name.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that there are just three unique styles: Nova, Deimos-Stroud and HopeTech-Taiyo. Deimos and Stroud are different in color scheme only, and the same difference is between HopeTech and Taiyo.
Yep. The lighting makes a big difference. Deimos has at least one hab that is more unique like their 3x1 living quarters but the layout is the same as Stroud I think.
That is more or less correct although in a couple of instances there will be slight differences like a galley with one manufacturer instead of a nav station .... things like that.
Just a PSA about the nova armoury, if you use the mannequins, do not ever change modify your ship without removing those armours 1st, else you will lose whatever armour you put one the one on the left side. Normally, weapons and armour pieces goes back to the cargo hold when you edit your ship, but this glitch eats whatever armour you put on the mannequin

This way it could make the shipps we design smaller and more compact.. also would be cool if Bethesda made the individual storage containers connect with the whole storage of the ship

So for those wanting full functionality in a teeny, tiny living space it seems the 2x1 Infirmary and 2x1 Workshop have all crafting and research between them. Slap them behind that honkin' Cabot Bridge, throw in some decorations, maybe something with more Crew Stations, and you've got a weird oversized shuttle/starship hybrid.
Nova habs have become my favorite when talking about interior. Though, I'd still build ships with specific role in mind using certain brands. For instance, cargo hauler with the no nonsense HopeTech. Deimos for obvious ones. Stroud for passenger line, and Nova for exploration and/or science ships. But I still couldn't come out with a proper role for Taiyo parts.
Your videos are the best thing out there, exactly what we all want when building ship. I agree, Nova's are the most unique, with Deimos most luxurious. Why does a military focused company have better luxury than Stroud?
I generally prefer Nova for most habs. Their Captain's quarters especially feels very nice. The only exception I find is the Hope armoury which has a nice brig feel to it too.
I personally think Nova's has the most character and the most "homely" feel. Though I question the bed placement in alot of their hab's? Personally I prefer Nova in may own game for the majority of compartments. Though Deimos has the nicest war room and armory. When it comes to exterior, it a much more level playing field.
The one thing that strikes me after watching all of these is that you have large living area common rooms but there is no module that is JUST bunks like you would find on a ship or submarine. Then need to make a 2x1 or 3x1 with like 6 bunks to put next to one of those huge common rooms. The only way to get 6 crew or more is to use a bunch of all in 1 modules.
I do feel like its a missed module, but looking at some of the couches they might be the fold out variant. also nova actually has interior space so you could layout futons. Honestly the Nova parts are leagues better design wise then the rest of the companies parts which dont really have much going for them internally. I am particularly disappointed in the Deimos parts as they dont feel very militaristic at all and its armoury just being strouds is depressing.
This captains quarters actually look half decent, unlike the other ones that were sterile and you’re living on a camping cot for all the money you’ve spent on your own ship.

I spent a lot of time looking at the differences of some Habs today. And a lot more time being annoyed and connecting them in different ways when I realised that how they attach to other Habs has an impact on what is available. Something I notice about the Nova Galactic 2x1's is that (armoury aside) they all have the good stuff in the middle third. You could put doors on either side at both ends and lose nothing (of interactive value.) I am wondering if that arrangement is because you connected them all Head to Tail?
The nova c1 and c2 series cockpits are actually different, their external models are different too. Infact, c2 might be the best 1st person drive cockpit in the whole game. Only challenged by the taiyo one.
The Nova Tech bridge is the best bridge because it has STAIRS!!! Seriously, i can't build a ship now without using this bridge because i hat the bloody ladders, fallen down too many times and with this bridge i can at least build a double deck ship without ladders
I was really hoping there was a luxury interior manufacturer in the game. The Fortuna ship in the freestar quest got my hopes up haha. These are all cool, but a bit samey to me.
That is supposed to be Straud-Eckland, but their parts come across as more "clean" than "luxury" to me. Although, tbh I am already wondering who hurt the devs as kids because there are a lot of pirate outposts and such that are just a filthy mess. Just because someone is lawless doesnt necessarily mean that they wont be organized or tidy. Geeze.
This would be BRILLIANT! I was hoping to be able to choose a "trim package" for the interior. Or like a quality setting where you could buy run down modules for less or luxury interior for double.
Yay been waitingbfor this one. Do you plan to do external showcases? Or maybe a breakdown of the diffrent manufacturers aesthetics and desighn mantras?
On Neon street, you will hear one engineer talk to another one about ship parts manufactures, her key argument was 'Deimos just copy whatever Nova makes.' Well, fans, fans never change. 😂
So far the best 'lived-in looking' living areas. One of them even featuring 4 beds (the most beds in a single module I've seen so far. On the other end, the cargo holds look too empty when compared to the other brands.
I spent a lot of time looking at the differences of some Habs today - I was impressed with the HopeTech All-In-One 2x1 having two bunk (4)beds and a toilet in one third of it (the other 2 3rd's were a Galley, lots of chairs and a small storage box)
I find it funny that we spend hours to level up and access other manufacturers for ship aesthetics and such, but Nova Galactic seems to always have the best interiors. Some of the others are too cramped, crowded, or don't have immersive detail as Nova Galactic. I definitely try to find the other stuff for external aesthetics (even though Nova Galactic seems to have some really cool external ship parts), but I find the interiors inferior to Nova Galactic.
I also want to note that; and I don't know what triggered it; but after doing one of the story missions my ship just magically populated with items. +haha For example, my pool table now has billiard balls, tables have games, and beds have those fun stuff animals.
I wish we could choose where doors and ladders are placed without doing so much back and forth from the ship customizing menu. Something like a “walkthrough” option while building would be a nice touch. I had to choose a hab I didn’t really like just to make the door and ladder layout fluid and not zig zag around a disjointed ship…… Edit: I also would like to see some additional module specific quests. Something like “go do this thing, but you need an engineering bay to complete” Or “go catch some pirates and bring them in alive, your ship needs a brig for this” Some of the habs look so cool, but are actually completely useless for anything involving gameplay.
It's my understanding that ladders will automatically be put to create the closest path between the module and the landing bay. So if you have a landing bay and then a module connected to it and then another modular above that, the ladder will be the closest ladder spot to the bay (ie right next to the landing bay door). If you stack another module on top, the ladder will extend up. So if you don't want that you'd instead build your bottom level modules first, then add the next level up further away from the landing bay, and the ladder will be put there instead of close to the bay (even if you subsequently build near the bay- it won't add more ladders once the far away ladder is there).
I really prefer the Nova armory vs the other staryard designs but the mannequin not displaying the armor hurts me. Also the bug with the helmet stand cutting out half the helmet. Hopefully they fix that.
You can display armour on them. On the other hand, your character clips with the environment when getting out of some of the Nova cockpit seats, which I hate. These videos cut out that animation but show you sitting
The Nova Galactic habs seem to have the best features and most thought put into their layouts, but they just don't have the look of Stroud interiors with their clean and brightly-lit areas. I almost always wind up building Stroud or Deimos.
Man i love that Cabot bridge, but is such a pain to build with from an interior flow perspective. Like here, why does the game add a ladder infront of stairs that lead to the 2nd deck.
yap, they really designed the cabot to be placed at the front end. though, I managed to put it in the middle a bit to the back, similar to how deimos' ares bridge would be, but requiring some structural parts to cover up its angled bottom side.
What about the Frontier 2x1? Is it tagged with diff name? & the 1x1 Companionway? Some layouts get rid of these weird flight chairs at the end of rooms.
The Frontier 2x1 is unique and can't be replaced once you get rid of it. You can try to regain the functionality of it with the 2x1 All in One A, but that's it.
hate ladder placement in the ships. Can't wait for DLC support to decide where you have ladders. Also have more stairs. I believe only one cockpit has stairs
Is there an actual difference between the different levels of the same bridge or cockpit? Because it seems to me like it's just pricing that's different. They just cost three different prices for whatever reason.
The price difference changes because cockpits have different cargo capacities. But if you care about lower mass for faster ships, the lowest cargo of your favorite cockpit will be your best choice since the cargo space really isn't worth it.
Nova Galactic is a little too NASA Space Shuttle for me. Not that I don't like the NASA punk style there are other styles like Stroud- Eklund and Deimos that push a little more to scify and to be honest look more sturdy to me. And I like the lighting better on those. On most the ship builders the lighting is too bright for the Weyland-Yutani vibe I am going for. I do like Nova Galactic's stairs bridge though and some of the cowlings.
Depends where the door is, it would need to be in the opposite corner. Unfortunately it’s kinda based on connecting modules and not something we can choose as far as I can tell
They are great showcases thanks, you could put ladders coming up into each room that way you will see everything that got removed due to adding the doors and passageways.
Nova has so far the most unique hab interiors. I love their retro NASA punk aesthetic. Some habs look like a loving homage to the interior design of the nostromo.

I also want to note that; and I don't know what triggered it; but after doing one of the story missions my ship just magically populated with items. +haha For example, my pool table now has billiard balls, tables have games, and beds have those fun stuff animals.
Happens over time when you get a ship big enough for it. If you edit or change the ship all those items are moved to your cargo hold.
I wish we could choose where doors and ladders are placed without doing so much back and forth from the ship customizing menu.
Something like a “walkthrough” option while building would be a nice touch.
I had to choose a hab I didn’t really like just to make the door and ladder layout fluid and not zig zag around a disjointed ship……
Edit: I also would like to see some additional module specific quests.
Something like “go do this thing, but you need an engineering bay to complete”
Or “go catch some pirates and bring them in alive, your ship needs a brig for this”
Some of the habs look so cool, but are actually completely useless for anything involving gameplay.
Hopefully they fix that.
my manequins display armor but you have to go into them and press the Equip button
You can display armour on them. On the other hand, your character clips with the environment when getting out of some of the Nova cockpit seats, which I hate. These videos cut out that animation but show you sitting
Good luck playing pool in that tight space
The Nova Galactic habs seem to have the best features and most thought put into their layouts, but they just don't have the look of Stroud interiors with their clean and brightly-lit areas. I almost always wind up building Stroud or Deimos.
Gives me vibes of the Enterprise from the Star Trek Enterprise tv show.
Nova doesnt believe ships should have bathrooms. No wonder they are out of business
Man i love that Cabot bridge, but is such a pain to build with from an interior flow perspective.
Like here, why does the game add a ladder infront of stairs that lead to the 2nd deck.
I agree, It would be nice to be able to tell the construction system where to put ladders and doors.
yap, they really designed the cabot to be placed at the front end. though, I managed to put it in the middle a bit to the back, similar to how deimos' ares bridge would be, but requiring some structural parts to cover up its angled bottom side.
Overall I like Stroud but there are a few habs/cockpits from the other manufacturers that I really like.
Reminds me of the Nostromo from Alien. Very retro kind of scifi
Which is your favorite interior??
Nova galactic and hope tech
great video thanks
Thanks for the video.
Are there variations of the 2x2 living quarters? I didn’t see any but mine has a workout area rather than a pool table.
Seems like that is a little tight of an area to realistically play pool in.
hate ladder placement in the ships. Can't wait for DLC support to decide where you have ladders. Also have more stairs. I believe only one cockpit has stairs
I tried so many different ways to connect that living quarters to my ship and could not for the life of me get the pool table to show up 😅
I cannot find a Brig, anywhere, to add to my ship. I have pilot 4, starship design 4 . i cannot get the builder to give me any options for a brig.
Does the cargo hall change the overall cargo capacity of the ship or is it just aesthetic?
So far ive kept my ships skinny and symmetrical by only using 2x1 habs, but a pool table?? Take me money
It would be so cool if you could put npcs in those jail cells.
So after watching all these I started building. Unfortunately I didn't realize the maximum length you can build is 40m. Hopefully a mod will fix that.
There’s a console command to change that. Search for it on Reddit :)
You're a lifesaver! Thank ya!@@SpaceCoconut
all i can find are 3x1 and 2x1 habs. where are the 3x2 and 3x3 habs? where can we get em?
Why my 2x2 living quarters don't have pool table??
I think you messed up. The C2 is not the same inside as the C1
I do like Nova Galactic's stairs bridge though and some of the cowlings.
i think nova galactic is the only 1 that have a snooker table in the habs
Is it just me or do nova give off the ship interior design from Aliens as well
The comfiest captain's quarters, but no shitter.
It might be where the doorway is, try a different orientation to see if it pops up
Nope, checked it.@@SpaceCoconut
Dang… gotta hold it I guess XD
I have this 2by2. I have weights bench. No pool table
Is the Nova Galactic the only Armory that comes with a Mannequin?
Just a reminder: If you put viewport in 2x1 All in One Berth A, you will not get the research desk
It's a shame the builder doesn't list the stations in each hab, and warn you if they'll be deleted when attaching something.
12:48 Love that Fallout 76 has usable pool tables but their next gen game doesn't.
Does the pool table appear over time? I bought the hab but it's bare.
If it's gone, it's because you have a door there.
I have the Nova 2X2, but for some reason mine spawns with a gym instead of a pool table. any way to change that?
Depends where the door is, it would need to be in the opposite corner. Unfortunately it’s kinda based on connecting modules and not something we can choose as far as I can tell
@@nlmaster9811 I have a design that actually uses 2x 2x2 habs, with connections at different points. Neither shows the pool table.
unless im mistaken you missing li9ving quarters 2x2 in a few videos
Hope Tech and Taiyo don't have them unless I'm mistaken.
They are great showcases thanks, you could put ladders coming up into each room that way you will see everything that got removed due to adding the doors and passageways.
Is it just me, or are there far less bathrooms installed in Nova modules than in other manufacturers' offerings?
Nova hides them all in those corner cubbies, sort of like an outhouse on the wall.
Is this a ship builder game?
Nova galactic is passenger and stoud hope tech is cargo and demios is also cargo
