I miss country music like this. Thank God for the internet and youtube so you can always go back and listen to the good songs and recall the memories that go with them.
+SSduckclub I saw them live at the Country K Family reunion 30yrs ago when they were just getting started. They were great!!! The local paper panned the hell out of them because they flew in over the crowd in a helicopter and landed at the stage. Newspaper was bitching that this was not "Woodstock"? Such petty crap.
They were at my county fair every year in Arkansas when I was growing up & they were so entertaining-amazing. I always griped how underrated they were, along with Gary Morris and Restless Heart. This song is a gem.
This is truly authentic country music. I’ve been listening since the late 80’s and the music today has no comparison. Sawyer Brown has produced such beautiful and original country music All These Years. 😉 This song touches my heart and soul so deeply that I could never stop listening. Even in the year 2024 and beyond these emotions will never stop moving me. Absolutely beautiful.
What sold country music back in hay days of Garth Brooks and Sawyer Brown was that the songs told a story, and did a really good job tugging at your emotions. They don't do that now. They're more about that catchy beat that gets stuck in your head. Then the radio stations put it on repeat until you hear it in your sleep and wake up a week later hating the song. Songs like this are timeless, and always hit you the same way everytime.
Devastatingly beautiful song. Still slices through every emotion. A story of loyalty, infidelity, love and indifference that underscores the need to appreciate what we have and that all relationships require constant attention. Written by Mac McAnally and featured on Sawyer Brown's "Cafe On the Corner" album, "All These Years" is without question lead singer Mark Miller's finest vocal performance. Today's hit radio country music should be this great.
With such sparse instrumentals (NOT a complaint, by the way)... Just that acoustic guitar backing him (and occasional violin). His vocals can't help but stand out!
This song has so much honesty to it. People forget that just because you have someone that you don't have to work any more to keep them. But its quite the opposite. There is no excuse to cheat but there is also no excuse to take anyone for granted. Everyone still needs to know they are wanted.
Kim,is not a matter of taking any one for granted,we men get busy providing for our women, they want some things,a nice car,a nice house, nice clothes,so we do,we sacrifice our time and lives to do so...they like all that, and then they cheat bc they say we are not around... WTH!?!?
THIS WAS ANOTHER SONG , THAT GOT ME INTO COUNTRY MUSIC!!!! I HEARD THIS SONG AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER!!!!! NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE POWER OF MUSIC!!!!!!!
I finally got to see Sawyer Brown "after all these Years" they put on an excellent concert. I would definitely go see them again. I love the high energy and I could feel the closeness the band has with each other. Incredible voice.
This guy had a very good voice for country music. We don't hear voices like his and so many others from back in the 80's and the 90's. Country will never be the same again like back then. God Bless you, Mr. Sawyer Brown. Thanks for all of your music that has inspired so many of us. Sing on brother.
i listened to this song with my dad when i was younger and saw him cry, i never really paid attention to the lyrics till i came back to listen to it the other day, tomorrow is 5yrs my dad is gone after he took his life from this world and really listening to this hit me like a brick in the gut.
+Ashley Vardiman man, what you've had to deal with...suicide by a loved one, let alone your own Dad...those left behind are the real victims of this senseless tragedy. And, even those closest to the person frequently say that they didn't see it coming, there were no subtle signals that they picked up on that would have let them know that there was something very serious going on with that person, for nine times out of ten it's not the person who has threatened suicide a number of times (though they still have to be taken seriously, for one of their threats could coalesce into suicide) but, it can be the last person in the world you'd ever think would do something like this. My Dad passed away a little over two years ago from a host of health problems....that was hard enough to get through, but, when it's suicide......
+Bill Randolph there were so many signs I picked up on, he would say things about how when he was gone at least he knew we would have his life insurance and I would always tell him, he is worth more than any amount of money in the world, he would always hug me really tight and tell ask me, you know how much I love you right more than anything or anyone in the world, and i would tell him i know and i love him more than anything in the world too, I would check up on him when he was sitting in his room quite a lot and tell him i just wanted to come talk to him. It's hard to have it in the back of your mind as a possibility but harder when it happens especially when you have watched them suffer through the depression.
First heard this song after becoming a long haul driver, after a trip to home having my wife tell me it was over and she had been seeing someone else. Two kids and 21.... was a long long time ago. Way glad now, but then, this song wrenched me to the floor.
One of the best songs of all time. This is a country song. Tells a sad story, well written, harmonies like angels, and dispair in their voices like a thousand hell bound souls.
God what great music! I miss Sawyer Brown. I wonder what happened to them . I am glad that I found this video. know it is in my play list. Thanks guys for your great music and memories!!
I am almost 40 yrs old I fell in love with this song cause he tells the truth I grew up listen to him I just found this song and thought about my ex since we gave each other 10 yrs n two handsome boys n a beautiful lil girl
This has got to be one of my favorite country songs from the early 90's. Grew up on music like this. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks Mr. Sawyer Brown for the great country music you and your band has sung bud.
Great song, one of those that about 7 out of 10 people at one point or another can say they knew the feeling from the song. Wish more songs from the current country era had this sensation to them.
Sawyer Brown is amazing. his song's have so much meaning to them. not like today's so called country music. to me this is real country music. where are the true heart felt song's? we lost the true country music when the 90's left us and 2000's rolled in. BRING BACK OUR REAL COUNTRY MUSIC.
I was working in radio in 1992 when this song came out. It really stood out at the time. A lot of the "new" country that was coming out at that time was very alienating to the older crowd. Travis Tritt, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Sawyer Brown were all part of a new generation of country. It's strange to see younger people hear this and think of it as dated and old. But in 1992 Conway Twitty Hello Darlin and Charlie Rich Behind Closed Doors were 20 years old and sounded it.
+Vincent Given I never understood what the hell that line meant when I was a little kid. I haven't heard this song in forever. This is a pretty depressing song hearing it as an adult.
avengerspeel, your comments are on point. I'm 47 now and THOUGHT I'd been a fan of country since 90-91 when I really started adding to my music collection. It took about 3 months of listening to realize my country roots had been there since I was a kid. Today some of the most cherished music in my collection includes everyone from George Straight to Don Williams. I love it.
What an authentic and relatable song. Brings me to tears honestly. Kind of reminds me of If Tomorrow Never Comes by Garth Brooks... in the way that communication is key in relationships. You have to remain friends and always appreciate each other before it's too late.
That song is true. I had a friend who always fought with her mother, who she lived with. Every week, they had a major fight and she would storm out. Well one week it was worse than usual. Before she left, she told her mother she hated her and she wished she would just die already. When she returned that night, the mother was dead on the floor. She had a heart attack and couldnt reach the phone. She was never the same after that....
A "GREAT" Timeless Classic that WILL NEVER GET OLD!!..I've always LIKED them and Wish they were STILL AROUND!...This is When Country Music was GOOD! and actually Worth Listening To.
Love this song & his voice is awesome ! So Sad but how real life is sometimes, when one in a marriage forgets their wedding vows ,both people have to make time as a couple to be together !
very powerful song, IMO i think this is probably the best song Sawyer Brown ever did. cant find country music of this caliber anymore i just whish the trash they try to pass off as country now adays was held to the same standards. then again george jones said it best with "whos gonna fill their shoes" aint an artist yet that has come that can do it, maybe a few but not many. thanks for sharing the video. brings back alot of memories.
God brings things including songs into our lives for reasons. In summer..late July, early August my darkest crisis was coming to its judgment battle. I heard this song, stopped dead in my tracks, ....realized the horrific future I would face was in this song...and praise God ...ran away. Sadly...she cheated on many occasions since...and I've avoided a heartache some1 else sadly is feeling....truly heartbreaking....
I know. . . Remember Mark Chestnut and Alan Jackson and Randy Travis, and older George tunes ... I miss those old times. All the music today just makes me sick. RIP cool ass music
I dont listen to country music much and i havent listened to this song in many years. But this is one of those songs I can never forget and will return to from time to time for the rest of my life. Reading the comments i am glad to see that this song has had the same powerful impact on so many other people that it has had on me. Thank you Sawyer Brown for this gift to humanity.
THIS is the song that turned me on to country music. I was flipping stations heard the tail end of it and I parked it on that station for like three weeks trying to catch it again. I have NEVER seen the video and it is my favorite song ever! Thanks for posting it.
My young life was this song. Daughter and son. Touched me and broke my heart when I first heard it. Thought at the time it meant something as most times each person has their responsibility for a failing relationship. Found out later, the little girl wasn't even mine. Been remarried and happy to a faithful woman for many years now. If you are with a woman like this guy's, let it go. Find the right one.
Wow. I grew up on this as a child but only now really hear the song. I sang my heart out to this song without any understanding of the heartache it’s really speaking on. Crazy how innocent your heart truly is before it learns stuff ❤
This song is a long time favorite of mine, no matter how sad it is. It’s a harsh reality that came to be real for me and led to a divorce in the end, leaving my son and daughter to a broken home.
I didn't get this song until I was married and not enjoying it. These words and Mark's voice are a musical marriage. I can't imagine it being done better than this.
this song takes me back so much. when i was a kid my family 3 sisters and parents were poor and we lived crowded in a small two bedroom house with an old wood stove. a lot of the time cold and drafty. i never realized how miserable i was because all my friends had normal houses. i remember often times feeling worthless because this small country town had some really judgmental people back in the early 90s. it was hard times, but when i look back on it I'm glad it happened because it makes me appreciate what i have that much more.
I am just recently divorced. I never thought that I would see that day. My ex wife and I had been so deeply in love for so long, but life is hard and marriage is hard. This song cuts deep.
I have loved this song for about the 20 years. Time has not diminished it for me. The lyrics are still so beautiful...my favorite lines are, "I'm still here. What have I done? I've made your supper and your daughter and your son."
Just saw these guys in Alabma, and let me tell you, after 20 something years, they sound every bit as good as they did when I was listening to them in high school. Mark hasn't lost his touch at all. And for him to be 50 something, he looks like he's in his 40's! Sawyer is a fantastic band who has stayed true 'All These Years' and never lost their touch. I was so proud to have finally seen them. Thanks for posting the vid!
This absolutely breaks my heart and makes me cry. And I take pieces and I relate to it. This group has down some great music. This one is up there. It's a shame that allot of amazing country stars you don;t hear them anymore. The younger generation needs to have a well rounded range of country music just not this stuff thats going on now.
I couldnt listen to this song after my divorce. Losing my kids and wife but as fate would have it I met another amazing woman and we had a child & I got custody of my 2 kids from my first marriage. Stay strong
The more you hear this song, the more it touches you. Sawyer is an exceptional poet, and he portrays that through his music. It really makes you reflect..on you..and the people around you. Its a rarity to hear this song on the radio.
The thing that I have found with country music that most do not like is....the fact that true country can make you stop and think because it hits to close to home. Most anymore like the music can take your mind of things but, the older country made you stop in your tracks and think..."That's my life put to words and music"
I love Sawyer Brown ... all of his music is emotional, deep and thought provoking. He and his band are such a great secret. None of my friends have ever heard of him and I don't know how I found him, but I'm sure glad I did. He's one of my favourites.
great video and song sawyer brown has a way with words in music wish other artisits did so many dont put any feeling in their music anymore. thanks again for this upload!
for me, (and I've never been a big video watcher) this is one of the exceptions...the beginning scene with the leaves falling and the haunting guitar intro...evokes, at least for me, a feeling of subtle anticipation, that restless truth that we're dealing with a powerful, serious issue here... seeing the trees changing color, falling leaves shout a prophecy as old as time itself, always makes me redouble my footsteps to take care of things, cause winter will be here soon...same kind of feeling our ancestors had, for them, falling leaves meant making sure they had enough food/firewood to make it through the fast approaching winter ...
Got to meet them in 1999 back stage at Cerritos Performing Arts Center in California. Nicest guys you will ever want to meet. My sister and our daughters and I had taken my 91 year old grandmother to see them perform and she clapped her hands and knee-slapped her leg like she was in her 20's again. I will always remember this night. Each of the guys greeted her warmly and shook her hand and she asked Mark if she could kiss his bald head and he let her. Just made her day. She had watched and cheered them on through their journey on Star Search with Ed McMahon and we would call each other after every show. You never heard such shouts for joy and jumping up and down when they Won!!! We love these guys!
I saw these guys in concert 2 weeks ago for the 2nd time and met them backstage before the show and they are very nice guys. Their shows are fantastic and they put on a great concert and they are worth seeing again and again and if you love country music this band is one to put on your bucket list of country music bands to see.
Don't forget that Sawyer Brown's early records were total bubblegum pop "country". They grew and matured as a band. Some people would say that this isn't really country because of the string quartet. But I agree with you that we need someone to come along and show these kids what country music really sounds like.
Love the song and group that performed it saw them many years ago. Well worth the price of admission. The song is real with real lyrics. Sad but true Good country song.
Very powerful lyrics. If you're not moved by this song there is something wrong with you. I could connect with this song the first time I heard it because a similar situation happened to me.
Tried to keep my family together for 11 yrs for my son and step daughter. I knew of one affair that my wife had due to me "being gone" in the military and after i got home found out about the rest. Basically whenever i left home to go overseas or on deployment she went out either with the same one or different one. She always promised she would change promised to go to consuling but then when we did go she argued with the therapist about how it wasnt her fault or didnt see why what she was doing was wrong. I finally got out i just couldnt see what was what due to PTSD and other Grief/Trauma issues i had. It took me going to the VA to get my head on right and then I left got custody of my son and eventually found a good woman who loves me and havent looked back. This song drives a spike down where i bury those feelings though. Dredges up the past i should keep gone.
Color doesn't matter when it comes to music. Thats the great thing about music. everyone can enjoy it. my roots are planted firmly in country music and I couldn't think of a better way to grow up. Though now that I'm older, I do listen to other types of music but country is where it all began.
I was on set yesterday for a movie filming, and ran into Mark Miller, I walked right up to him, and said, Mr Miller, I just wanted to let you know, no matter what I'm doing, as soon as I hear this particular song, I have a tear running down my cheek. He just smiled, and shook my hand. Very nice guy.
Over twenty years have passed since I lived parts of this song , been single ever since . Some things you only need once in a lifetime , this qualifies .
Little Texas & Sawyer Brown were 2 bands that had meaning to their lyrics !! Songs that bring back sad & happy emotions . I wonder if others have the same !! ❤
Love this song and the talented group who sang it. I agree this was indeed done back when Country Music meant something. The words, the meanings all of it. Hopefully it will come back sooner to music like this, rather than what they are trying to say is Country is today.
I miss country music like this. Thank God for the internet and youtube so you can always go back and listen to the good songs and recall the memories that go with them.
Clearly one of the most under-rated bands of all time.
+SSduckclub yes!
They were at my county fair every year in Arkansas when I was growing up & they were so entertaining-amazing. I always griped how underrated they were, along with Gary Morris and Restless Heart. This song is a gem.
no doubt I totally agree
+Laurie Havens - - I couldn't agree more Young Lady!

Mario Tarradell Love the words and explanation on your comment,
Thanks so much, bobvocal. It's such a special song. Still love it.
With such sparse instrumentals (NOT a complaint, by the way)...
Just that acoustic guitar backing him (and occasional violin).
His vocals can't help but stand out!
Mario Tarradell,
Thank you for mentioning the songwriter. They rarely get the credit they deserve for what they create from thin air.
@@ArcoZakusMac is amazing. Deserves so much credit.
One of the most haunting songs Ive ever heard! BEAUTIFUL!
The depth of this song is amazing..
I agree!!!! You're so right.

Amen
The line, "neither is this guy" is absolutely the best reply ever!
Agreed
Theses days folks have forgotten what country music is
Josh Ford,
Not me.
Yep; what Jerry B said!
All these years
THIS WAS ANOTHER SONG , THAT GOT ME INTO COUNTRY MUSIC!!!! I HEARD THIS SONG AND IT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER!!!!! NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE POWER OF MUSIC!!!!!!!
I thank God I lived through the years when this was what country sounded like.
"Made you supper and you Daughter and your Son"........gives me damn chills every friggin time!!!!!
This song has haunted me since the first time i heard it....touches my heart due to all of my mistakes.....SOOO many regrets
Ditto

aw man, I'm sorry.
I hope you find the other side to this song then
Hope everything works out for you better in life. Give it time, and you'll see. Everything will get better.

Beautifully and subtly written song. Breaks my heart every time.

I didn't get this song until I was married and not enjoying it. These words and Mark's voice are a musical marriage. I can't imagine it being done better than this.
This is one of those songs that you have to live in order to write it.
Yes I agree .👌
this song takes me back so much. when i was a kid my family 3 sisters and parents were poor and we lived crowded in a small two bedroom house with an old wood stove. a lot of the time cold and drafty. i never realized how miserable i was because all my friends had normal houses. i remember often times feeling worthless because this small country town had some really judgmental people back in the early 90s. it was hard times, but when i look back on it I'm glad it happened because it makes me appreciate what i have that much more.
i feel like i'm less of a man when i hear this song.... these words are so truthful and so important at the same time.... it's a blessing to my ears.
I am just recently divorced. I never thought that I would see that day. My ex wife and I had been so deeply in love for so long, but life is hard and marriage is hard. This song cuts deep.
So much meaning and feeling in this song!!!
The last of the good Country Music. I feel the same way. It reminds me of better times in America.
This song is by far one of the greatest country songs ever made. Beautiful
I love Sawyer Brown ... all of his music is emotional, deep and thought provoking. He and his band are such a great secret. None of my friends have ever heard of him and I don't know how I found him, but I'm sure glad I did. He's one of my favourites.
Oh man this song. Wow these lyrics. So powerful. So powerful. So real
I've always loved him and this song . my dad and mom always played your music!..xoxoxooxoo
great video and song sawyer brown has a way with words in music wish other artisits did so many dont put any feeling in their music anymore. thanks again for this upload!
for me, (and I've never been a big video watcher) this is one of the exceptions...the beginning scene with the leaves falling and the haunting guitar intro...evokes, at least for me, a feeling of subtle anticipation, that restless truth that we're dealing with a powerful, serious issue here... seeing the trees changing color, falling leaves shout a prophecy as old as time itself, always makes me redouble my footsteps to take care of things, cause winter will be here soon...same kind of feeling our ancestors had, for them, falling leaves meant making sure they had enough food/firewood to make it through the fast approaching winter ...
This song is so spot on with how I'm feeling today!
In my top 30 of songs that were ever written " I made your supper and your daughter and your son"...powerful!!!
I can't help getting teary eyed every time I hear this song, it hits home.
No problem chad. This song means alot to me too. You never know what you have till it's gone... Thanks for posting.
I agree I've saw them in Concert a couple few times
This is one of my all time favorite country songs, thanks for posting!
Whoever wrote this laid it bare ... that's what good songwriting does.
Very powerful lyrics. If you're not moved by this song there is something wrong with you. I could connect with this song the first time I heard it because a similar situation happened to me.
my ex husband use to listen to Sawyer Brown I love it a lot heartfelt and a lesson learned after all these years
Tried to keep my family together for 11 yrs for my son and step daughter.
This song and "The Walk" will never not be in my collection of music.
If ever get a chance to see these guys live DO IT!!! What an awesome show they put on! Super high energy, and EXTREME talent.
I love this song too. What a sweet memory of your grandparents. Good luck to you!
Color doesn't matter when it comes to music. Thats the great thing about music. everyone can enjoy it. my roots are planted firmly in country music and I couldn't think of a better way to grow up. Though now that I'm older, I do listen to other types of music but country is where it all began.
Sawyer Brown is great. This song is very soothing. Great Video as well.
Just seen these guys in concert for the 3rd time and I love them! They put on such a good concert!!!! Started listenin to them for about 15 years!!
One of the saddest, and most devastating, videos and songs of all times.
Behold: Country Greatness. Damn good song that never got nearly enough time on the radio...
this is one of my favorite songs by sawyer brown. i saw him years ago, and he was great in concert!
One of the best songs ever written. Period. !
The poetry in this song is devastating and completely honest. It kills me.
Such an excellent playlist. Really takes me back.....
Thank you for taking the time to compile it :)
Little Texas & Sawyer Brown were 2 bands that had meaning to their lyrics !! Songs that bring back sad & happy emotions . I wonder if others have the same !! ❤
This song haunts me I've seen Sawyer brown twice they never disappoint
Love this song and the talented group who sang it. I agree this was indeed done back when Country Music meant something. The words, the meanings all of it. Hopefully it will come back sooner to music like this, rather than what they are trying to say is Country is today.
1 of the most underrated country bands ever i think
