I love this song. But it's so hard to hear sometimes. When you've loved someone that has just given you nothing but empty promises until they completely break you (emotionally), then when you finally walk away for good and they still try to make more promises to you....this is that song that can give you a good cry.

The very first time I heard this country classic, I was driving my old 1977 Chevy Nova that ran out of gas on the freeway. That was in early September 1991. This song hit me in the heart so strongly and made me cry, even my car broke down. Alan Jackson scored his 6th consecutive chart topper with this classic on 11-9-1991.
Alan Jackson songs are my favorites since i was a child. I love his voice,the meaning of his songs. Such a great singer. Old country songs are much better than any new songs for now,It will be only popular for a meantime and fades right away after a few years but country songs never fades for the heart of the 1990's people❤️
