You dont need a roller cam, you just change the angle of the helix. A roller would require a smaller angle as the torque sensing secondary would shiftout faster. If you want it to shift faster just increase the angle and you can shift the clutches at what ever rate you want.
I am sorry, but this gentlemen is all over the place with his review... from saying 4 stokes dont belong in Trail sleds to the Viper RTX trail sled is better then main stream , "Its Very Good". as I said before , and will again, best way to determine if you are going to like a sled is to take it for a ride if you can..... be your own judge ...
Charles Palmer II what’s a good viper to get? I was looking at a 2014 sr viper.. wanted to know if it’s fast.. I have a mint 1999 Yamaha srx700 just want another newer sled.
@@mxr7586 that srx would rape the 2014 viper..unless its a turbo but stay away from first model years, 2014 they brought back the viper and there was a lot of issues people were complaining about on forums. Also yamaha now a days are basically arctic cats..they were known for reliability 10 years ago, not so much now unless you get a tourer sled. Back then they were full on yamaha. Plus cats and yamahas look so much alike (same chassis, wonder why)..kind of cookie cutter sleds, thats all you see now a days is that body style. At least i can distinguish from afar if its a ski doo or polaris..cant with yamaha and cat. Also those newer vipers had top speed issues. some people reporting there top speed is 105 yet some people saying they only getting 75mph.
so far off. for the price of a viper you can get a sled that performs much better. I own an Ltx. I love the way it sounds rides and performs. but had to spend extra money to get it there. stock form isn't fun. the skis are bad, the belts slip, and failures like the starter and the reverse going out is just uncalled for. sorry I will be selling my viper and waiting for a new platform
I don't have any problems but the skis. And I wouldn't say the skis are bad all season, they're very good at the start of the season where I live. But mid and end season they aren't so great. You could buy a arctic cat with the same engine with better skis, but I don't know if I would want their clutch setup.
I have the LTX DX, 2015, no such problems with it at all ... Only thing that I decided to do with it because of a lot of Ungroomed trails by me, is, Put some Slydog Powderhounds 7 inch with a 6 inch Sharper on it .... but that was for flotation purposes.... Excellent pull .... Fun to ride ... I can't complain price wise either , as mine was a demo with under 500 miles on it and I got it for 7,800., which I felt was WELL WORTH it .... heated seats ,adapter, electric start ..etc... pretty much loaded and good storage too .. So related to getting a better sled for the money, not in my case... at all.... I got full Warranty too ... I have a Vector as well... Both are fun sleds , but for comfort I am jumping on Viper... Also own a 2015 Renegade as well... That sled cost me a lot more then the Viper , and I just drop big bucks on it for a new lighter can and Clutch mod.... to try and get performance up... that is a 900 ace

The Vector has the same motor but is faster than the Viper. The 1200 Doo is a faster sled as well. Love the looks of the Viper but that’s it
Do you actually have a video of a 1200 Doo beating a Viper ? and what model Viper ? Also were the flashes up to date on the Viper ?
