    It's all about reliability to me, yamaha has always had a great engine, these new ones aren't heavy like most say, keep it serviced and you won't have issues at all with this, try one before you knock it

      Mr Plow probably 40-50lbs over ski doo 900 ace in weight. but more top end performance.

    • @Juho999
      @Juho999 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vectraB97 its probably not heavier than the 900 Ace also depends on what platform the 900 Ace is, and they dont make it for mountain sleds because its too weak.

      @@Juho999 lynx 49 ranger 900ace use boondocker chassis same as lynx mountain sleds. But you need a turbo for true mountain sled performance. 900ace in ski doo chassis has less weight than Yamaha phazer 500cc 4stroke. Lynx use heavier suspension than ski doo.

    i must say every brand new sled may have there bugs but i bought a 2014 viper xtx se which i snow checked and it is hands down the best 4 stroke sled available on the market, yes where as 2 strokes are lighter they aren't as reliable hence my reason for my switch. there is nothing i would do to change this sled and as far as cold starting goes mine was starting fine in -30 conditions, don't knock this fine piece of engineering until you've tried one for yourself

    • @sniff1197
      @sniff1197 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      you cant deny facts. 4 strokes ARE more reliable. a 2 stroke will never beat a 4 stroke in reliability so shut your mouth, btw the viper is 1 sexy fucker

    • @sniff1197
      @sniff1197 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      my only yamaha is a et 340 and its great. but again. you are DENYING FACTS. and using insults because you cant argue. please take 2 seconds of your life to google as to why 4 strokes are longer lasting and more reliable... jesus christ

      I’ve got an 09 xtx with 144. Also have 121” skidoo and a new assault 800. The old yammie has the best ride

    Good review video. I work with this program as well and didn't get what all it could do until I watched your review video. Keep up the great work and thanks for the straightforward assessment.
    Cheers!

    Mine is being built now (153 though but with the turbo:)), interesting how most of the guys I see/hear who poo poo the extra weight of a 4-stroke are 30, 40 even 50 lbs overweight themselves;) #putdownthecheeseburger

    Too bad Yamacat screwed up on the Viper fueling causing them to be terrible starting in the cold weather. Check out Alan Gofenko's TH-cam channel to see all the problems he has with his new Viper.

      Lafond RC Gofenko is an idiot. Ever see how long he holds the starter key? Check his videos where he burns a polaris and blows up his dodge ram.

      Never had any issues starting my Viper no Matter how cold it was ...

      Lafond RC more than a few Vipers had the cold starting problem.

    It has a good look but there is still that weight and it sure does weigh less then a Nytro I know because my uncle owns a place that sell`s Polaris and Yamaha sled the Polaris still is better but I just test rode a viper and it is unbelievable how much lighter it really is but when you compare it to the new 2015 pro rmk which I snowchecked one just one week ago the 155 and 163 terrain dominator it is just so much easier to throw around but it sucks because I had planes on going to the mountain and to many avalanches to go but hopefully I will be able to go next year with my two new pro`s and barrow a 2015 Yamaha viper.

    The only way you'd get me on a 4 stroke is with a big ass turbo..

  • @BloodstainedSinner
    @BloodstainedSinner 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is _not_ the motor I want under my sled's hood. I'll take a 2008 Polaris FST Switchback over the canned Yam any day. 750cc turbocharged, from the factory.. fuck yeah.

    paint it what ever colour you want review it how you like the fact is its still a heavy tank and will always be a heavy tank 4 strokes belong in utility and touring sleds only

    Its like the big elephant in the room. Nobody wants to admit this isn't a Yamaha. Its a Arctic Cat with a Yamaha motor. Rather then ignoring this fact you gloss over it pretending this is a new Yamaha design, FAIL

    • @snowtrax
      @snowtrax  10 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      The Yamaha/Arctic Cat partnership was news for 2014. It isn't news now because everyone's aware of it. Seems redundant to keep stating it if everyone already knows doesn't it?

    • @9kalltheway
      @9kalltheway 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +SnowTrax Television exactly. it's an artic cat chassis. so what. it doesn't have a garbage artic cat motor in it. matter of fact it has the most reliable motor ever put in a snowmobile.
