Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.

Eddie Murphy is so iconic that I would watch him in anything and give a 5-star rating simply because he's in the movie. 5 stars just for his charisma alone. The man is legendary. I even loved Metro (Eddie's character was a hostage negotiator and Michael Rapaport featured) which no one else did according to the rotten tomato scores.
Thanks for all the background you provided on the originals and how significant that first one was. I think a lot of these Hollywood reboots are mostly insulting to the original characters and the fans, so I'm glad to hear that Axel isn't some broken down old man who's now an alcoholic. What's up with movies thinking we need to see old heroes ended up destroyed by life? 😂

Golden Child will always be my favourite Murphy movie :) BHC4 was surprisingly well done. Very enjoyable.
Just watched it. I enjoyed it, especially the nostalgia of it. Missed the Axel laugh, though.
I must say, if you hadn't shown the clip of part 3, I would have continued think I hadn't seen it. It was definitely the throw away of the series. 😂😂

Boomerang is classic! I never understood why critics didn’t like it when it came out. Then Eddie Murphy himself explained it on Arsenio Hall. And I think he was absolutely right 😢
I think they wanted it to be hilarious cuz it was Eddie, Martin and David. But it was deeper than that!
If Eddie, David and Martin were all POOR instead of middle class/lower upper class, then the critics would have loved Boomerang. They can't stand to see Black people unless we are struggling or having Oppression Olympics competitions. 🙄

My sister and her date snuck my 8 year old self into that movie. I had all kinds of cred telling the neighborhood kids about the funny rated R movie that I saw.
Boomerang is one of my fave Eddie Murphy movies. Harlem Nights is #1.

Not for nothng, but you know that Rotten Tomatoes didn't exist when Beverly Hills Cop II came out, and despite critics - who didn't like anything good back in the 1980s (actually, they still don't.) And it was popular AF. I don't think the shine wore off that one until Coming To America.
I feel it’s pretty much on par with Coming 2. The nostalgia was done better, but as a project about the same amount of effort went in.

His daughter played the cop arresting him, good detail, but yeah definitely made this movie to write the wrong of the 3rd movie, it’s unfortunate that “Die Hard” won’t be able to do same thing after “A Good day to Die Hard” due to Bruce Willis unfortunate illness, life’s not fair😔

4:15 this Axel Foley is a banger 😅. I watched the 3rd movie as a kid in 2008ish (I was only 7) and I don't even remember the movie, all I know is I couldn't forget the tune of the song. I remember the name, the lead actor and the fact that they went to an amusement park 😅. Eddie Murphy was my first African American actor, I'm in Nigeria and he was basically my introduction to Hollywood and America as a whole, I didn't even know who Michael Jackson was. The next black actors I saw were Martin Lawrence and Chris Tucker(Rush Hour). Then Jackie Chan stole my heart too. For a long time, these were the only celebrities I knew their names (not even my Nigerian actors stuck, except a few big ones). I loved Eddie so much I knew Donkey and Mushu was him immediately 😂😂. Then I finally watched MIB and Bad Boys, plus Fresh Prince was airing again on our cable (Sony entertainment channel), along with Everybody hates Chris, so more black actors to love. Eddie is still my number one forever ❤❤❤
I re-watched 1 and 2 earlier, 3 does not exist to me. I can't wait to see this film.

I watched and i liked it I will give it a 7/10 that a 7 put of 10 score . Between the beverly hills cop franchise of all 1 and 2 the first and second and this one the fourht one beverly hills cop Axel F. The thrid wasn't perfect but it was not as a terrible film.
