My guess is that it was because of the rules that are put in place for child actors even though he was on the set he would still have to take school courses, etc. if the show has gone on longer in the format that it was not Segway into the horrible Galactica 1980 I think Noah would’ve gotten more screen time.
I was apreteen when the original BSG aired. I loved it. My parents loved it. Boxes and Muffin were often shoehorned in, sort of like Spritel and Chim-Chim on Speed Racer, haha, always stowing away on a shuttle. :) Yet Boxey was a fun character, and his initial appearance, mourning for his dagger (dog) and befriended by Apollo was meaningful. (I did think it didn't/t make sense that there weren't/t other dogs (daggers) on ships or brought by refugees (cats too). -- And Noah/s performance as Atreyu in the Never-Ending Story movies, just great. (I wish they'd included a teen Boxer on the BSG Reboot. They had him for one or two eps, then never seen again.) It/s weird to realize Noah is now over 50 (me too) (and here he has a TH-cam channel, wow.) -- I remember seeing a couple of interview where other actors said how good Noah was, even as a little kid playing Boxes, both about remembering lines and about understanding how to act, how to pretend and live in the role. Pretty amazing compliments from those actors for a kid who ws only about 6 or 7 at the time. -- Noah/s roles have stood out all the years. I/m not sure what else he did between the two or after, but it/d be great to see him acting again. ---
Knowing how good he is a gambling and playing cards, Starbuck most likely rigged the game to ensure that Boxey would win every hand in order to keep him occupied and happy so he wouldn’t worry about his father. As happy and is up as Boxey was deep down I think he was traumatized by the death of his mother, and always worried that his father would leave on a mission and never come back.
I was a HUGE fan of the '78 Battlestar Galactica as a kid. I have to admit that Boxey and Muffit weren't my favourite characters, but I still think it would have been neat to be in the show at that age. I wonder if Noah has any behind-the-scenes stuff to share. I'm sure Lorne Greene was a blast to work with. Also, as a kid, Noah, was the whole concept of the series fun or scary for you? I guess knowing that it's all "pretend" would make it fun. I know you didn't work with them much, but did you get to see the actors put on their Cylon suits?
I was 14 years old when Battlestar Galactica was aired, and it was a great show (though it only lasted one season)... but I always found myself being jealous of Noah's looks (due to serious self-image issues I suffered from since childhood). And that he got to be a part of that show at such a young age, sit on Lorne Green's lap and call him "Grandpa".
Thank you for uploading these clips and all. However, what the hell happened with the audio? Why the hell does it keep fluttering or hiccupping or malfunctioning? That interference is awful! It kills the experience and unnerves my ears. Yeesh! I don't think that it's your fault. It seems more like a technical error or issue. Still... ahh!
Great show, Noah was a great actor, and I wish him all the success in the future, he deserves it,,thanks for the happy memories
You were always SO natural Noah.
Imagine being a kid working on that show, surrounded by Lorette Spang, Maren Jensen and Jane Seymour. Hubba hubba!
Noah also played a lead role in the movie "Never Ending Story"
We were close in age; I remember feeling frustrated towards the end of the series when Boxey seemingly disappeared.

Hard to believe underneath all that fur was a real live chimpanzee that worked for peanuts
❤Imagine being a kid and getting to have all those adventures ❤

You were always so awesome on Battlestar Galactica Noah! It was the best show on television!

They didn't have him a whiz kid like wes crusher, will Robinson 😮
Hey Noah....there should be a heavy metal version of 'Boxy's Theme' that plays you onto the stage at conventions. Can you hear it?
For context, this is Apllo's adopted son from the reporter he married.
I always wondered why he wasn't Starbuck's son, they looked more alike. Then have him become Dillon in 1980 instead of Troy.
Was the pyramid card game made into a real game?
I never cared for Boxey and Muffit 2 myself.
