The next step in developing the collected swarm is to get them moved into a full sized hive.
I normally leave swarms without any extra feed for a few days prior to putting them into a new hive and give them a feed.
Today I moved the swarm from the nuc box into a full sized commercial hive and added the all-important feeder to ensure they had enough food to keep the wax production going.
This is really important because we want them to build the frames of foundation out as fast as possible so that the queen can continue to grow the brood nest and we may have enough bees for the Summer flow in July.
This, to be honest, is a long shot, but if the weather is kind to us and they grow quickly we may get a little honey from them.
    Fingers crossed!
    Stewart
