Thanks for reacting to this. I felt like this was an audio fail. For Work, the hand mics were picking up sound as they should, but the headsets weren't. I imagine MMA handled the sound since their were many artists performing. When they switched songs and moved to their positions for Ice on My Teeth, they probably told someone the audio needed adjusted because at that point the vocals of the three with hand mics overpowered the backing track. Even then, the headsets weren't picking up all they should. You could tell Wooyoung was shouting to be heard (wearing hat at 18:46). It sounded like a final adjustment was made because you could hear them better at the end. It was interesting to see who shouted to be heard and who didn't (they probably felt like it is what it is). The people on the stage were other artists. These award shows are generally held at large venues like stadiums. Most of the artists perform. In order for the artists to view the performances and fans (and cameras) to see artist reactions, they seat them on risers on a stage. Fans and sometimes even the channel post videos of the artists' reactions to other artists. Last year MAMA posted Treasure and Zerobaseone's reactions to ATEEZ's performance--San took his shirt of and they reacted strongly to how ripped he was.
Thank you for reacting to my request. 😊 Melon is the Korean version of Spotify mainly. If you want more movie-like performances of Ateez, watch their Kingdom: Legendary War performances, especially Wonderland (Symphony No.9 ”From The Wonderland”). 😊
This performance was soooo Insane but just the tip of the Iceberg for ATEEZ Stages, like they are known as the 'Standard of KPOP Performance' for a Reason. Melon is like Korea's Billboards, so they have their own Award Ceremony. But Basically for the Video Uploads, Melon and many Korean Award Shows tend to ignore Ateez because they aren't from a Big Company ( like the Big 4, SM, YG, HYBE & JYP). They cheat them for awards and also cut up or not upload Ateez's performances, even tho they are a HUGE group Internationally. Having Performed at Coachella, Headlined Mawazine and Topped Billboard Charts. They are respected by Younger groups in Kpop and basically Elders in Kpop now, but still face Mistreatment. Next, you mentioned the drums, it's all done in a studio but with live instruments of course, you can check out their Behind the Scenes for Coachella to get an Idea. Ateez do however perform with Live Bands for specific stages and Concerts. Most of their songs are quite Hype, so I can see why they add some yelling to their vocals, they have ballad songs that are sung closer to the original performance. There's another ver of the Melon Performance without the camera work that shows just how loud their vocals are, but a lot of Korean shows encourage Lipsynching/Backingtracks, which ATZ is so bad at and they have spoken up about. In another Award Ceremony, the Award show had like a ridiculously loud BackTrack in post, while the regular live version was way better with their natural vocals. I really don't know why these shows do this, especially to groups that aren't from the big 4 i mentioned. At the end of the day ATZ are singers, like their CEO has said and they need to sing live no matter how hard the choreo is, so their company has hired and worked with physical trainers and vocal coaches in and outside of Korea, they even trained the old school way. Like how Destiny's Child was trained, singing while running and exercising, to improve stability and endurance. It's a lot lol. ATZ are know for their Big Sounds, like you said, like a Soundtrack. Their bsides and their background audios are just so great. Even if you don't react, I highly Recommenced their WORLD Album series and their lives uploaded by user sanie. Its INCREDIBLE. The company ATZ is from has an amazing Choreography team, name BBTRIPPIN that help orchestrate the choreo for all ATZ stages. Thank you for watching, I enjoyed your insight and I love longer videos too. I'll give you guys music a listen after! Have a great Holiday Season!
I hate when live performances sound exactly like the album, why would I go see them live then? I'll just listen to the album lol they obviously aren't dancing at the same time they are singing at the recording studio. if you know the songs well, you can differentiate their live from the backtrack. There's a lot of videos of them in the recording studio singing too.
This would be a far better example of their vocals. I’ve heard the clips from people watching in the room, and there is ZERO doubt they are singing live since the people in the room get voices only.
Just coming back for a second go because I was curious as to why this doesn't really appeal to me. I know I like a lot of Korean entertainment. I have several Korean movies that are at the top of my list of ALL movies. I'm always on the lookout for my next favourite K-Drama. I love Ailee. Love, love, love LOL. And IU and Rosé are right there with her in my opinion. And don't get me started on Rolling Quartz who have made a huge impact on my perception of the Korean music scene. So why can't I like this? I wish I knew. Sorry to anyone who is a fan because I'm not trying to say it's not good and they aren't talented and popular. It's perplexing. But it would also be a boring world if we all had the same likes, dislike and opinions.
The thing I like about ATEEZ is that even if you don’t like current era stuff, there is something in their discography for everyone. The Golden Hour series title tracks so far have been hip hop, but the others are NOT. The World series was much heavier- Guerrilla is a major example of that. Halazia is great for people who like EDM with some drum and bass. “It’s You” is very R&B. “Wave” is totally Summer bop. The “Work” music video was filmed in LA and was very gold rush meets every get rich quick scheme possible (including counterfeiting). Ice on my teeth is very Peaky Blinders mafia with actual ballerinas. I don’t think this was a great example of their work, I guess is what I was trying to say. 😂
i also love IU and Rose; this group (ATEEZ) is one of the only kpop boy-group that i like. as a fan, i guarantee that Ateez fans does not mind that Ateez doesn't suit your taste :) it's definitely different from what i most are used to! if you have the chance, maybe check out some of these stage performances and see if you like them! (it's the same group Ateez). th-cam.com/video/mK2nz1hm2es/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/x65gpdc5H1o/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yBGx3HDy2iE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/zqpCho3mX-0/w-d-xo.html i usually recommend these because they are less popular. p.s, merry christmas!
It's a matter of taste; I just prefer music and vocals working together. Preferably heavy music. Additionally, 24 minutes is more than my attention span 😋
Have you guys watch ATEEZ perform at Coachella? They had band with them. Its so interesting to watch. 😊
You must reaction ateez killing voice or ateez at Coachella . They are live stage

If you want an actual live band then watch either their Coachella or mawazine performances
Work actually starts with the chorus if you remember it correctly. They sang the whole song. Both of these songs originally start with the chorus.
Thank you for reacting to my request. 😊
