I have been riding motorcycles for almost 60 years. I bought one of my bikes 30 years ago and still ride it. My Harley Street Bob is 10 years old. My dream was always the streets of the American West because my home country, Germany, is very, very, narrow. Now I'm an old man and it's too late. I watch your videos and dream. Thank you very much and always have a good trip.
Well thank you so much. Comments such as yours are always a little extra special to me, I really have tried to make my ride videos as just that, a ride, and I am glad to hear that you enjoy them!
As someone who lives in the Black hills, this is one of the best rides you can take. I enjoy getting on my Harley every year and hitting Spearfish Canyon
It is a great ride Bryan. I think that some of the other rides offer more unusual scenery then Spearfish Canyon, but they are roads that are just a bit slow for an enjoyable riding experience. Spearfish Canyon is a perfect mix of both, great scenery and a beautiful road that allows a just enough speed that the bike just flows along it. Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to comment.
Thanks Cindy. I do try to make them appealing to everyone (an impossible task), and it is nice to hear from non riders that are enjoying my vids. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, it is much appreciated.
Really needed this today (tough), you brought me back to feeling better. Can't wait for clearer roads & warmer temperatures. Thank you so much 😐 great video!
Your videos are awesome! I am using them to plan out my motorcycle ride from Sturgis to Rocky Mtns, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Death Valley, Sequoia, Yosemite, Rt 1 Ca and Glacier National Park. Thanks again so much.
Thank you! It sounds like you are planning an incredible journey. I do try to include as much relevant info for trip planning as possible in a video without making it too boring, so it is nice to hear about someone planning a trip and using my vids as a resource. Thank you for watching!
You are very welcome Marco! I have some more beautiful rides in the coming weeks which I hope you can join us for, it will keep you going until you can come back to the USA and do them yourself!
Hi Joe. I have a picture of my camera mount on my Facebook page "Dry Rock Studios" The link to the picture is here: facebook.com/dryrockstudios/photos/a.453336891456077.1073741828.451931728263260/872346102888485/?type=3&theater You can see in the pic I fabricated a steel bracket off the mirror stem. But the camera is not directly bolted to the bracket but rather to a thick piece of rubber which is then bolted to the bracket. The camera bolts through the rubber and the "nut" that secures it underneath is a heavy piece of steel. This extra weight gives the camera a substantial amount of inertial dampening, and the rubber isolates the camera from higher frequency vibration.
Thanks a lot for the time in explaining this. Very nice set up. I'm wearing a GoPro 6 mounted to the front chin of my full face helmet but I like your set up too

I did this road in early Sept 2006 one day after the Sturgis rally ended. Good memories, thank you.
Spearfish Canyon is a really pretty ride and one of the most popular Sturgis rides, glad you enjoyed it. Your ride, and my vid!

Thanks so much.
*Lol i love in Spearfish SD, i live in town tho*
Spearfish seems like a really nice town, and in a really pretty area, you are very lucky!
@@RobertMerz Come visit some time okay😀
I just might return to Spearfish one day. There are still many things I would like to see there in the area. Thanks for the invite.
@@RobertMerz Right now there isnt that much to see because my school was cancelled because of a blizzered.
It has been a late spring in many areas, here too. But warm weather will eventually show up!
I know 4 yrs ago but what month did you ride it
August 26. Late August is a great time to visit this area, the crowds and traffic have subsided, it isn't quite as hot, but it is still summertime.
@@RobertMerz heading there last week of August. Thanks allot! Party on Garth!
Too many edits, show the full ride!!
very nice, but it would be better(and longer) if you showed it all, your skipping a lot. I gone 5:25.
