Right on!
Thank you for your videos, 1SG. Passed my board for SSG today. Wish I met you in person back in Lewis.
Congrats!!
Thanks you so much you are helping me a lot
So glad the content is helping out Abraham!
Super helpful thanks for the input. After watching this video I realized that I was pretty good on memorizing the policies and short answer responses but I need some work on the situational answers. I am fairly new to the Army and am wondering if you have any recommendations on how I can improve critical thinking skills or how I can start thinking more 'Army' when analyzing problems. Any books or other materials would be great, thanks.
Two things to get down will make all the difference in your journey:
The 8 step training model
The Troop Leading Procedures

1sg I just got my p status and I wanted to say thank you. Your videos have some raw material !
Amazing video! I do have a question about publications. What is the difference between FMs and TCs? I noticed D&C used to be covered by a Field Manual, but changed to a Training Circular. Will it matter which one I say at the board?
Hmm probably won’t matter on the board. Even if a 1SG gives you crap about it - just say Roger/acknowledged/understood and move on. Don’t let someone pulling a thread make you come undone - cut the cord and keep grinding.
Difference is types of pups is either in application, scope, purpose, legal, etc.
ADP - National scope
ADRP - elaborates on ADP
AR - explains rules
DA Pam - how to comply with the rules
*very little of those below are typically punishable under the UCMJ
FM - individual, team, and collective tasks conducted in a field environment
TC - individual, team, and collective in a non field environment
ATP - more detailed info from ADRP about how units consider specific tasks or operations
1SG didnt Friedrich Von Steuben begin teaching drill and ceremony on February 1778 not 1776?
Sounds about right
Question: soldier requests a compassionate leave period or an entire reassignment due to family medical issues. What COA would you take?
Understand the situation, inform higher and help prepare the action.
Hello 1sg. My biggest problem is getting the numbers mixed up. But I'm very confident when i say it lol.
For example I might say tc 3-22.5 is drill and ceremonies but actually its 3-21.5. Will I fail board because of this?
Don’t let it erode your confidence. I wouldn’t give a no go for someone who messes up a few numbers.
We’re you in fort drum recently ??
Nope. Haven't been there at all actually. I'm in the upper left coast right now.
