totally agree man! They get too much hate, but to be honest, it's probably user-error which is why people hate on them, cause they just don't prime correctly and think the starter system is bad cause their model isn't starting. Pretty much can guarantee thats the case..

hey bro! I totally agree! I love the retro T-maxx and E-maxx bodies. For real!!!.
I installed a 3.3 engine in my Rustler too and O...M...G!!! Turned it into a complete animal!!! Not that the 2.5 isn't enough, it's just that the 3.3 really really is a huge improvement in horsepower in comparison but it also makes a difference in the way the gears are set up too. I'm running a 22 tooth pinion gear and a 72 tooth spur gear and it just straight doesn't fail to impress me.
hey my dude! I totally agree, once you go 3.3 in the Nitro rustler it's over!! And yet people hate on that engine, must be mostly a result of having no abilities to properly tune a nitro motor, I'd say. But yes, I gotta do some vids on my own 3.3 nitro rustler.

I love my Nitro Rustler. Got it 2 years ago. I have 8 nitros and I use the Nitro Rustler the most. Iv really put it through the paces BMX track and skatepark. It's never broke just had a shock cap pop off..Now Aluminum caps. Best Nitro to start with in my opinion very reliable.
Now that's what buddies do....A little nitro and some burgers from white castle...great way to hang out and have a good time....I want a Nitro Rustler myself!!!! Great vid!!!

hey man! Yes, I totally agreee! The 2WD stadium trucks are terrific designs for many reasons, simplicity, light weight, speed, easy to work on, cheap. There's a reason why this class was raced so much back in the 80'-2000's. Not the nitro rustler, but the competition of course, but similar chassis layout.

I must have bought my nitro rustler the last year of the old remote (the one that takes 8AA battery’s and the big antenna) it has been a great car all these years.

What are the small plastic clips attached to the long plastic “tree” in the bag? I haven’t opened mine because I don’t know what they’re for?
Hey buddy thanks for checking out this video. What you were describing seems like shock spacers to me. They are small plastic clips that you can put right above the spring to increase or decrease shock firmness and the vehicles right height.

hey bro! That would sure be interesting to see, the JATO pulls pretty tall gears and the whole rear shock tower and mount assembly is pretty intricate. I'd say with a good tune the single speed nitro rustler is perfect, you will almost never go faster than 50 MPH with a chassis like this anyway, you know. But still interesting to see how custom it would have to be to work. Nitrogang!!.

I brought it back from the dead! nitrogang! and ye, the hobby stores are more interested in profits and quick turn around, just like any other business. Anyway, I would highly recommend a brand new TRAXXA Nitro Slash as great starter nitro, it's fast, relatively inexpensive, have a very good manual you can read and learn from, and plenty of parts support along with almost everybody knowing how to fix them (from the Nitrogang). Also id suggest a new HPI nitro bullet, I'm doing some videos on them right now.

whats up bro! I already own a redcat earthquake, and have a few videos on it on this channel. yOu should check them out, I guarantee you will love them. Its a great RC but has some flaws, mainly the clutch is terrible and the carb needs to be swapped with a normal carb from another engine.

hey my dude! Welcome to the Nitrogang! Revo is king!! Anyway, if you want to stick with a new traxxas then I'd recommend the nitro slash, it's a 2WD with a 3.3 motor and is built on a longer nitro rustler chassis. I did a video on it a few weeks ago. IF you're looking to leave the Traxxas scene I'd get the new HPI Nitro bullet G3.0 model. They are on eBay for 340 right now RTR. I also have vids on those.

@@mpnatvadventures5971 I'd avoid the rustler, you dont wanna deal with the 2.5 motor and the short chassis. Best to get the nitro slash, with he longer chassis and the 3.3 instead. They have the same top speeds, and the Nitro slash is also 2WD, and cost a tiny bit more.. Better to stick with the 3.3, trust me.

My man! #NitroGang This was my first ever Rc car with the old striped body! I was a dummy and sold it (broken) for $27 and a set of bike rims when I was like 12 or 13 years old.. I miss it and have been on the look out for an old version like the one I had! Great video nonetheless it kinda makes me want to get a fresh one
whats up bro! I sold my original 2002 model also, a while ago. Don't worry, as long as traxxas still sells these we are good, that means plenty of normal shape used ones and parts to go around, you know. BTW, I highly recommend you pick up the Nitro Slash if you're looking for this style of 2WD traxxas nitro RC. The nitro slash comes with the 3.3 and is longer and bigger than the rustler. Otherwise it's the same chassis, just comes down to which style you prefer more, you know.
Will these wheels work on hpi firestorm 10t nitro? I love the wheels
If you're referring to the wheels that the Jato comes with....the anaconda tires. Yes they will fit but you will have to buy the rear wheels since they have hex hubs and the Firestorm has hex hubs on the front as well as the back. They would look awesome on the Firestorm.
I'm going to pick one of these up one day but phillips screw hardware, why just why. Also the open receiver, if it had hex hardware and a receiver box Then it would be awesome. but considering the low price, I get it. These are fixes you can do.

@@hybrid32494 yup, that's all they say, mine's faster. Fast is cool, but it's the same thing for me with cars as well. I don't care if a tesla model S plaid will blow my SS off the road. It just doesn't tug at my heart strings like a gas powered vehicle. There's something very primal about a bunch of parts, all working together, with air, fuel, and fire, to make explosions to make horsepower. The sound and smell, and feel is half the fun. Something an electric car can never do. All set. Electric has it's place in the rc world though. Better for crawling, if that's your thing. Much better slow speed control, but i don't own a crawler. All i want to do is burn nitro brother. NWO 4- LIFE. 2-stroke revolution. 😈🔥🔥🔥

hey bro! Yes, good point. IF you look at the Nitro Slash you will notice the receiver is covered as you would expect. This is just another example of an OLD chassis design, you know. This is from before when waterproof was a top priority for most people. Even though the nitro slash and this share most of the same parts, this is clearly a very retro design.
I wasn't a fan of putting that dumb balloon thing on my receiver that the Rustler came with originally. I bought a RPM receiver box but it's not waterproof. I just mounted it to that black diamond shaped piece that the reciever sits on.
I accidentally let a fire pit with nitro fuel and I burnt myself and a big piece of patch of grass on fire But I put it out with a water hose the fire I don’t know if I want another nitro or electric $521.31 to spend
