*For some reason this video didn't go public when it was supposed to at the normal scheduled time. I woke up, saw it was unlisted and hit publish on it*
Really enjoying the more "Beefed up" versions of these videos you're releasing now. The early ones were a bit bare bones and this is what we were asking for, thank you for taking the feedback seriously.
This campaign, I usually start a little differently. I’ve started like this 3-4 times, since release. I usually go kill the first savage orc army, and then force march towards Tai Tzu. Recruit a new lord, with a decent trait, sneaky or cunning, or even disciplined, as he will be useful later. Recruit night runners (not the skirmish ones) Build the assassin building. Turn 2, move Snikch along, towards Tai Tzu, and move the new lord right to the edge of your land, and recruit more. Also assassins. Turn 3. Snikch sieges. 2nd army marches up and hands over his army. Assassins join if possible. Take city Recruit new army at home city, if you can. You’re propably running a good deficit now. Turn 4, move towards Shang Yang, to take that as early as possible. This will be your money farm. Caravans will all stop really close to this place. Use 1 army, and 3 lone lords to kill them whenever possible, and MAKE SURE TO KILL THE LORD. Your garrison will work as a lord in this manner, if close enough. (More lords = more loot) That should leave you good for money, killing every caravan you can. Albeit while running a money deficit. Now focus on the orcs, that are propably at your doorstep. Leave as many cathayan factions alive for as long as possible, to keep reaping the rewards. Good luck, and may the odds be forever in your favor. And if they’re not, you’re skaven, so who really cares about odds. Odds are just numbers, and you’ve got numbers aplenty..
I absolutely love your campaign reviews. Is there any chance you could do a tier list ranking campaigns by their difficulty in IE? I really want to play every faction at least once, but I'd love to start easy and tackle harder and harder campaigns as I go instead of, for example, doing them alphabetically.
So stoked that you put Clan Eshin up! I know I asked for it a couple days ago on I think your review of the Ogre faction. FYI, I'm a newcomer to Total War and I LOVE your content. So, this is my little way of saying thanks Legend. Keep it up!
I actually ignored Greenskins and simply went to farm Caravans, province on the left is pretty easy to deffend and bait enemy lords while u get tons of gold by attacking Caravan with 4 Lords to get 40K gold every time (since caravan loot is incerased because of additional lords present, while also farming TONS of items because of them having their own chance to get one). Doing this feels like Warhammer 2 Warriors of Chaos exploit with bullying vassals for money in terms of "income".
Thinking about trying Death Master Snitch next, been playing Ikit Claw and having a blast (pun intended) though I find myself at times filling my back lines with skaven slingers that do surprising well, assuming the enemy doesnt have the cav to chase them down. Makes me wonder how well gutter runners would do considering they can run away while firing, something the skaven slingers can't. Wont matter for my Ikit Claw campaign soon as my undercity is starting to spread through the empire and I'll start to generate income beyond just looting.
I really like these campaign review videos, often we're a bit spoiled for choice when it comes to picking a faction to play and these videos help narrow down the type of experience so we can find one without getting 20 turns in and feeling bored.
Eshin is by far my favourite faction. Skryre is more powerful in battle, but Eshin is way more fun. You need to play a proper sneaky skaven rather than hang back and let your rattling guns do the work for you. Having an eshin sorcerer as a satellite hero is useful for destroying walls, and using shadowy dealings to debuff Leadership on a particularly nasty stack comes in handy more than you think.
I know it is not thematic to this specific video, but does anyone know why "Emperor Karl Franz" changes name to "Karl" after some time and if it can be somehow reverted? I was looking for it on google but couldn't find anything relevant.
While they are not going to be around for much longer they have already been pretty annoying in my Vilitch campaign mainly by dodging my ambushes despite not having high lvl lords or heroes to spot for them and one time one spotting a 90% ambush chance army and then proceeding to walk into and out of its area of control to then go on to attack the defenseless town behind it (hence the ambush in the first place).
Also just to add; one of the things that give Eshin an advantage over other Skaven factions is the way they ignore the loyalty mechanic. You can hire up a lord in an emergency and disband after without the worry of them rebelling.
My problem with death master snikch is his faction bonus give unit disincentives rather then incentives to use eshin units which in WH2 wasn't the case
Coming from a Skaven main, I didn't expect Snikch's campaign to be the most difficult out of all Skaven. This campaign was more of a headache than Tretch's surprisingly. Not in a fun way imo either.
Tip for confederations: Use Shadowy Dealings to steal settlements from major Slaven factions. This doesn't reduce relations. This establishes presence next to target Slaven, making it easier to share and fight the same enemies. This also has the added benefit of reducing the strength of the major Slaven faction (more likely to confederate).
Had the Time of my Life with Isshin in Cathey. Yes your Gutterrunners get Armorpiercings Missiles but your Melee!! Just spaming Deathrunners, smokebomb up so they can only shoot a single Volley and cut through Jadewarriors like Butter.
my favourite thing to do is just send a hero down to Nagashizzar as soon as i have level 15 and 3 scheme slots, and just take the city using clan actions from the skaven that start there, usually its garrison can deal with the army they have sitting on it
my problem with skaven is kind of the guaranteed ambush. Ambush is way more efficient. I played like 2 manual battles, others were AR decisive victories. Including ones i couldnt even do in manual battle.
When you play as Miao Ying you need to wipe him asap because he can snowball pretty quickly and ruin your campaign because how busted are the Skaven atm.
If only Plunge into Anarchy didn't completely break the game file. I've only used it a few times, but it seems to subsequently cause the game file to crash upon trying to load the campaign every single time, and it's been an issue for months. I'm not touching Clan Eshin again until CA fix that issue.
If killing an Ogre Lord doesn't give you the most Food, then I say we protest. I say this in jest, but thematically it would make sense for Ogres to have the most food.
I know that Clan Eshin technically adds armor piercing to the gutter runners and night runners, but they still never quite do what I want them to do with respect to killing power, at least, in comparison with other factions armor piercing ranged units of similar damage amounts. Always leaves me feeling really frustrated.
warlock enjineers my friend, extra speed of all ranged units, extra campaign speed, range, damage. and they stack and do zappy stuff. oh and extra monies and tech rate theft as a bonus
Why are the graphics on warhammer 3 so absolutely awful? Warhammer 2 is absolutely gorgeous and this one looks like a minecraft version of a warhammer game?
Movement "cheese" No that's a bug. An exploit. Don't use it. You have the choice of using it or not. If it ruins the game, don't use it. Accept defeat sometimes, it makes victory much more satisfying.

A shadowy uploading indeed
Eshin plan-scheme
Legend got out smarted by another Skaven. 🔭🐀 🔫🐀
Thanks sport
I was wondering why your video came up at midnight

Couldn’t agree more
I agree this is much better
It's really satisfying conquering all of Cathay and creating a Skaven Paradise protected on all sides by difficult terrain.
Rat utopia
Loving these videos, you've been helping my campaign picks a lot recently!

Thanks legend! This is the most challenging campaign I’ve tried thus far and I’ll give it another go with your advice
Thanks for the great content and insight on the game legend

Life is cheap and there's always more besides. These quick reviews are great mate, cheers.
Awesome videos :) I would like to see a Heinrich Kemmler campaign review
I KNEW my morning was missing something today!!! 😅

I think legend tries to avoid cheese and exploits in these videos, same as the old 20 turn guides
A sneaky upload... of course

I'm binging on these campaign review videos! Keep them coming!
Never tried skaven but might start thanks for the video
You forgot to say that Eshin lords never defect
Putting undercities under the bastions is a good idea? They get razed a lot by the chaos forces
Cunning upload time for sneaky faction, that's how it works
Brilliant review thank you! Always struggled with eshin campaigns even though I really like them so I will give it a go now and see!
Love these videos
I love the campaign review videos! Please make more of these

Ty for the skaven food tips. Love your videos. Always learn alot

One word: caravanspawnareanearby....
Lotw Could you do Queek next? :)
The Dimmed Sunz having a Dim Sum roll as their banner is a brilliant meme!
Can you still get from Tzarkan possesed snikch in immortal empires? Or is it just a mechanic you get in wh2?
Only wh2 unfortunately but there is a mod to fix that
Some more Tomb Kings reviews would be great! Kalida or Arkhan. Cheers 🍻
My problem with death master snikch is his faction bonus give unit disincentives rather then incentives to use eshin units which in WH2 wasn't the case
" Let's jump to the wall here "
I might need to try skaven out, but I have so much fun with Beastmen and Greenskins. I'm currently playing another Skarsnik campaign.
Dude it's midnight... Perfect timing!
Bruh! I literally searched for this about 3 hours ago hoping you had done one! Get out of my room!
can snitch still get the transformation of tz'arkan like he could in wh2 campaign
No wonder Miao Ying gives a lot of food, she's a giant dragon :P
Sniktch is best Ratmen Lord
Why undercities in the gate settlements in particular?
I would love to see Repanse next!
so how much food does grom give you? or gold tooth? as they are the lords with the most foods...
Does plunge into anarchy work on end game crisis factions?
Coming from a Skaven main, I didn't expect Snikch's campaign to be the most difficult out of all Skaven. This campaign was more of a headache than Tretch's surprisingly. Not in a fun way imo either.

Yes-yes!
I really do love this series 😊
Had the Time of my Life with Isshin in Cathey. Yes your Gutterrunners get Armorpiercings Missiles but your Melee!! Just spaming Deathrunners, smokebomb up so they can only shoot a single Volley and cut through Jadewarriors like Butter.
Miao Ying a feast.
Can we get a high queen khalida!
Wait, is this already a morning or still a nightly upload? ^^'
Is there a way to get schemes faster? It takes 5 turns to get 1!
is Total war Troy and Rome 2 worth getting in 2023?
Troy not, Rome 2 definitely
'Dimmed Suns' Greenskins, those sound tasty
FINALLY
My favorite Lord
my favourite thing to do is just send a hero down to Nagashizzar as soon as i have level 15 and 3 scheme slots, and just take the city using clan actions from the skaven that start there, usually its garrison can deal with the army they have sitting on it
Something wrong with this video posting. Not appearing in channel besides playlist and number of views is awfully low
If you're not sneaking, you're doing it wrong
my problem with skaven is kind of the guaranteed ambush. Ambush is way more efficient. I played like 2 manual battles, others were AR decisive victories. Including ones i couldnt even do in manual battle.
They need the better ambushes to counter-balance their terrible performance in auto resolve.
When you play as Miao Ying you need to wipe him asap because he can snowball pretty quickly and ruin your campaign because how busted are the Skaven atm.
Holy hell, the lords are worth that much food? That's a really good tip.
Thanks for the video
I love Snikch
That tip on killing the lords for food is huge
If only Plunge into Anarchy didn't completely break the game file. I've only used it a few times, but it seems to subsequently cause the game file to crash upon trying to load the campaign every single time, and it's been an issue for months. I miss disaster battles 😥
If killing an Ogre Lord doesn't give you the most Food, then I say we protest.
I say this in jest, but thematically it would make sense for Ogres to have the most food.
I heard. Plunge into Anarchy bugged in WH3.
Wow so early today
I tried this campaign some time ago and after some turns i just got stomped from all sides by the dragon siblings
Cathay dragon legendary lord can be easily kill too, because AI always go dragon mode and big dragon die instantly to a lot of armor piercing missile
GOR ROK
I will always argue ninja rats are the most fun rats to play
it's not just food but post-battle loot overall. You get most by killing lords
man had him kill my t5 oger camp with shadow deals and it was gone t5 camp full stonehorn stack gone was so mad
Yes,yes stay here I'm go to upload
little tip for him, ignore the greenskins and steamroll zhao ming as quickly as possible
RAKARTH
1 dragon mommy is more meat than a whole greenskin army
Why are the graphics on warhammer 3 so absolutely awful? Warhammer 2 is absolutely gorgeous and this one looks like a minecraft version of a warhammer game?
ironic, just killed him in my miao ying campain
a thing that I did was just ignoring the greenskins for the time being and go west immediately.
Wait... Skaven are Legend's favorite race to play!? That came out of no where...
I can just movement cheese a busted campaign. I seriosuly hate that bug, absolutely ruined the game for me.
Movement "cheese"
No that's a bug. An exploit. Don't use it. You have the choice of using it or not. If it ruins the game, don't use it. Accept defeat sometimes, it makes victory much more satisfying.
then don't do it lol wtf
Wait till you find out you can put the difficulty down to easy as well, total cheese
