If you are interested in finding out more about how Loop will work in OneNote, then we have put a new video on our channel, covering all the capabilities. So if you do want to continue to use OneNote, you will soon find Loop Capabilities available to you within OneNote😀 Check it out via the link below: th-cam.com/video/tb1QOvue9uw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this video. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the biggest difference between Loop and Notion which is the lack of Databases to connect everything. For this reason I have a hard time really committing to playing with Loop. It seems that loop can replace OneNote but you don't get the inking. Or you can use OneNote with loop components and then you will have content in multiple places. Too confusing.
Thanks for your kind feedback again 😀 I would agree, it's quite confusing and that is quite common in MS365, as there is generally at least two Apps which can do the same thing, in most scenarios! I think that personally, Loop has more and better capability than OneNote at the moment, and with it's roadmap of improvements in 2024 with things like External Sharing / Guest Access, it will again become more powerful versus OneNote and therefore it's a solution to consider if we look at how we can take Notes in MS365 🙂
Thanks for this intro to Loop! I use OneNote heavily now and one major advantage I see in Loop is the ability to share only a specific page or even a content section in Loop. OneNote only shares and entire Notebook, which is very frustrating.
First of all, great channel, just subbed! As for Loop, I don't think I'll be downloading it for now. I recently switched from Evernote (it's now too damn expensive) to OneNote. In my case as a solo freelancer, I only ever use it for my own projects and notes, so sharing is not a consideration. However, if/when Loop does integrate with OneNote, I'll take another look at it. Right now I can't see any advantage of Loop as a replacement for OneNote, especially if you're not concerned about teams or sharing. I'll keep an eye out for your continued coverage though, thanks!
Thanks for your kind feedback and I appreciate your insights, and Loop in OneNote is being integrated very soon, so when it's available i'll certainly do a video checking that out 😀
Couldn't have said it any better....with wrt the great content and wrt the adoption of Loop...I will defer to later when the integration w Onenote is better bc I am heavily reliant on Onenote and am interested in anything that facilitates increased productivity with that.... ...as you said, I will stay tuned for further updates on Loop, specifically wrt it's integration and support for Onenote. Again, many thanks.!👍
I used onenote then abandoned it for Evernote a decade ago, but Evernote completely went down the drain, so I was bouncing around. I was excited when I saw loop and it's potential and now seeing this video- whether it's a Notion clone or not, as someone who does so much work in the Microsoft Ecosystem- I think this is going to be a game-changer
Thanks a lot for this video! I would have loved to see Loop become a replacement for Onenote. For one, whoever had issues with corrupt Onenote files in the past will never fully trust Onenote again. Also, the Onenote structure is too limited when it comes to connecting information. Both issues are addressed with Loop and on top, it is better when working from different devices. The integration of Loop components into nearly any other MS app is very useful. The big catch in my opinion: if you know Notion, you know how much better Loop could be.
I really loved this video, I was wondering if using loop would be better than using OneNote. In fact, I already started taking meeting notes and sharing the pages with each of people in my team. After watching this video, I will give loop a chance to replace OneNote to take my notes even when I will not share them with others. Thanks for the tips
My main problem is lack of search options. Imagine your team has been taking notes weekly for a year, and now you want to find something you talked about several months ago but there's no way to search. Now imagine your organization has several teams. I'd consider it for a specific project not lasting more than a few months. For anything else it needs better discoverability and search or you may as well be dumping your notes into a black hole.
Great video, Scott I have started to use Loop, and I liked it. It was really useful to summarise the comparison against Onenote, as you did. You got a new subscriber
Thanks for your kind feedback. It supports some limited capabilities today, as I was able to use an Apple Pencil to write up Notes in Loop, however i'd love to see better capabilities for hand writing in Loop, and to use it like a Notepad 😀
Great demo and explanation thank you so much I'm wondering if Loop notes expire in the same way teams chats expire or are they as permanent as OneNote?
Thanks for your kind feedback, and no Loop Components and Notes do not expire, unless your IT team have applied any type of Retention Policy, they remain just like OneNote Pages 😀
Thanks for the video. I am still trying to find my usecase for Loop. Your tipps are nice but it does not bring/replace the core OneNote features for me. 1. Getting instantly all Meeting-Details from Outlook Calendar into my Meeting Notes 2. Sending the final status of my Notes (not editable) with internal/external with one (ok - 2) click via a simple mail. No overhead or 2nd tool to be used by recipients Also in my projects it is never hard to "share a OneNote", since the OneNote is always part of a Team. New Members are Added to the Team -- >Done. I like the look and the more structured way via components and also that I can create Tasks as well as that Notification and Planner integration happens via +
There may be something that helps, as I just put a new video live, which covers the new Loop capabilities in OneNote. So you will be able to use Loop in OneNote very soon, and the video outlines how it all works and what you can do 😀
What happens to loop components if a person leaves the organisation and they have loops for wider team consumption. Would IT have to go in and invite or chnage permission to give control to someone else? Or can a loop be setup centrally by the org and not have a specific person as lead?
That's a difficult one, as Loop Components are stored typically as Loop Pages in a person's OneDrive and then shared via SharePoint Sharing Links. Therefore if you had retention policies on OneDrives, then they should remain but if not, they could be deleted. I'd recommend taking a look at this technical article which explains more about the approach and how it all works 😀 learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/loop/loop-components-teams?view=o365-worldwide
A OneNote notebook can be associated with a Team, therefore the contents are linked to a project, not an individual user. Does this capability exist within MS Loop?
Sadly, if we use any type of Task Components, including even the Kanban Board in Loop, it will require a Task Owner to be an MS365 account sadly. However, as the new Kanban Component (released a couple of days ago) does not Sync to Planner, you could possibly not add a Task Owner, as it's not a requirement, and then add some Notes on the Card 😀
Sadly, not as yet - I am hoping we will see Loop Integration in OneNote in early 2024, but I don't think there's any official release date as yet sadly
You can indeed add files into a Loop Workspace which we cover a little in our past Project Management for Loop tutorial on our channel 😄. However, it’s not possible to send email into Loop but you can create content within an email into a Loop Component and then share that with others, rather than the email itself 🙂
Thanks for the video, very usefull. Unfortunately, my company Loop don't offer any of the mentioned options, no workspace, nothing, the buttons are not there and no option to add. So all I get is a list of files... useless. Any ideas?
Great video but when I Add my Meeting Notes to the workspace, it creates link to a download instead of a page in Loop. I can't seem to get it to do what you did. Any ideas?
That's an odd one, I would recommend checking that are you adding the Page via 'Add to Workspace' in the Loop App, rather than copying in the Sharing Link - as that is probably causing it to open in a New Tab, like it does with other files such as Word and PowerPoint Files.
Nice that it works for youtube but it seems it does not act in the same way for stream. With the stream link I only see the link and title not a preview of the video.
Thanks for highlighting that, as I didn't test it with Stream but the official word was that TH-cam and Stream will be supported via the link, so it may be coming up soon. There is also a way to raise feedback to the Loop Team within Loop, just click on the '?' at the bottom right and you can raise it straight to the team and they do check out that feedback regularly 😀
Maybe I've missed it, but for someone (re)starting in a Microsoft environment, what advantage does OneNote have over Loop? I come from a Notion-only environment, so I don't really see the point of OneNote over Loop.
It's a difficult one to answer here sadly, but i would recommend checking out some of our other videos on Channel, which explain more about Loop and it's place in Eco System. In summary though, I tend to think of Loop, as an application that can cross boundaries in MS365, so I can create content in Outlook, share it to Teams, Outlook and more and keep it all in Sync - saving me time, copying and refining multiple versions of the same content in each app 😀
@@your365coach Thanks for the response. This is similar to how I'm approaching it - kind of like the "glue" that holds all the other pieces of the ecosystem together in a more user-friendly way. I'm cautiously excited for all the updates Microsoft is rolling out that is supposed to integrate with existing tools better. Maybe that will answer some of my questions.
That would be great! Sadly though I don’t know if that’s planned. The Loop Engineering team review a product feedback page, which I have linked below, so if you raise it there it will be reviewed and possibly upvoted too 😄 feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/34aa14b7-212b-ee11-bdf4-000d3a1f8ced
Fantastic video Scott as we are currently reviewing our processes. Quick question, how would I organise multiple meeting notes within a workspace? I can see there is a subpage feature, would you just create a blank page called 'Meeting notes', then add subpages of meeting notes to it? For example we have a weekly team meeting, in OneNote I normally create a new note for each meeting within a folder.
Sadly not that I have seen specifically in Loop but as it’s a Web App, there’s a 365 Admin setting which can force log off after a period of inactivity in the browser
Yes, that's a bit more challenging - you would need to look back at the Loop Pages and they are stored in SharePoint and OneDrive as .loop pages, making it harder to move away later versus having a OneNote Notebook 😀
OK. You can say that it is similar to OneNote. So it would be possible to copy the loop files to another location in addition to SharePoint. Cool. They are both binary formats, right. 🤔 Somehow I had assumed that it was a markup language, which might have advantages for copying content from A to B or processing it in some other way. But that's ok. no advantage or disadvantage compared to OneNote. I wonder if this is a good decision of microsoft. Of course, binary formats are compact and handy. But elsewhere the trend is more towards "open" MarkDown files or their dialects. Logseq or Obsidian are interesting representatives. But of course they cannot exploit all the advantages of the Microsoft universe. @@your365coach
Nice video and features. Can you say where the Loop Workspace is stored? It is not OneDrive, correct? And is it possible to invite another Owner to the Workspace? Thanks a lot!
Sure, the Workspace is stored in SharePoint Embedded and I have shared a link below to find out more: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/loop/loop-compliance-summary?view=o365-worldwide#admin-management-of-loop-workspaces Sadly, I don’t believe there is a way to add a Co-Owner as yet into the Workspace 😔
Sadly, there is no ability to do that directly in Loop. However, you can copy the content, create a Loop Component and then paste it, into an Outlook Message to provide access to the content - and also allow your colleagues to update the content too
@@your365coach apologies, I wasn't very clear, I mean, when you create a meeting, if you select a channel that applies to, the loop element below gets blanked out. I hope that makes sense now, it would've helped if I've given some context so my apologies.
How do I link an outlook 365 email to a MS Planner task? I when I copy the url for the email and try to open it from planner Outlook defaults to the general inbox rather than the email I want to look at?
I plan to use M365 business Teams for my main communication with clients as a solo business owner. Many of my clients are going to be tech savvy. Some may prefer email, some prefer chat, etc. I planned at first to use email templates for onboarding clients, but i feel that possibly setting up a template in Loop and copying and customizing for each client and the pasting the loop items in their "secured" channel might be easiest and more secure. I plan to use power automate at some point for this. When it comes to giving access to Loop components, if it an Item I give to all clients as read-only, will they all be able to see who has access to it? If so, might be best to just copy and paste items directly in the secured channels.
That’s an interesting scenario, and I guess it is possible to approach it on a Loop Component being shared in the Channel, although you would need to ensure that you select the right security model for the component, and assuming that the external user (guest) has been added into the Team, you would need to share the Component with the right external people. Also, the Loop external sharing capability is not out yet and that comes out in 2024, so it would need some planning of course and not possible today sadly 🙁
Great content thanks for sharing. As a OneNote lover for many years. I still find the search enginering not doing a well job and I am concerning with Loop too. Let's see how it goes.
It is indeed included in the various Microsoft 365 Business Licenses and you can find out more here: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/loop-access-via-microsoft-365-subscriptions-92915461-4b14-49a4-9cd4-d1c259292afa
When I try to add meeting notes to a Loop Workspace, the page gets added as a web link, and so when you click on it, it brings you to a separate tab rather than being truly embedded as a page in the workspace. Has anyone else had that happen?
Just to check, are you able to add it via going into the Recent Tab and open the Meeting Notes, then there should be a button in the left, to add it into a Workspace and then that will correctly move the page into the workspace - rather than copying the page link 😄
Very informative and helpful. Still unsure if Loop has any real significant advantages over OneNote, but ultimately it depends on where MS goes with it. So keen to see how it develops. On a presonal preference, nothing comes close to Notion and if it were available as a choice for me professionally I would chose it hands down without a second’s thought.
Thanks for your feedback - I would suggest raising the feedback to Microsoft Support, as it could be that the ink capability works on iPads at the moment , as that is the device I used to show the capability in this video 😀
Thanks for your question, and I'd say it doesn't really conflict with it, because Loop needs SharePoint to run effectively. There are elements of the underlying architecture using SharePoint and OneDrive, but moreover, Loop cannot host the files (Word Docs etc.) and would rely on a Sharing Link in SharePoint / OneDrive to store the file, to make it accessible in Loop. On a side note though, it would be great to see more closer integration with SharePoint / Teams and be able to easily bring a Loop Page as a Tab into Teams, and have the security automatically cascaded - that would make things more easier I think too.
@@your365coach I have managed to be able to add a Loop workspace into a Teams group by adding a web tab and using the browser link from the parent page of a Loop instance. I appreciate your videos. I'm only a couple months into my first MS365 admin and it is frustrating beyond my imagination. I've avoided MS for years because they were late to the cloud game and the are so enterprise-focused, us SMB's cannot config and admin easily. Sad, because their products have improved a lot.
If Loop was to replace OneNote, then Microsoft would have foreseen the possibility to transfer everything from OneNote to Loop, but it hasn't. Even copying and pasting a page with tables from OneNote to Loop does not give satisfactory results as the tables are cut off. My conclusion is that if you don't have a team and work alone, OneNote is still superior to Loop. PS How do you use Loop parts in OneNote? Haven't found that yet (using MS Office365).
Absolutely, I think that there would need to be a migration from OneNote to Loop, but then again, OneNote is not 'End of Life', it's rather than I personally see that Loop is accelerating forward with more capabilities, that OneNote would ideally have had. Even in the Team Scenario, Loop is adding support for External Sharing also, so that is going to open up possibilities to share Loop content across customers and suppliers, all Sync'd back into Loop, so that would be an interesting scenario. However, let's not forget that you can work on OneNote offline, but is Loop online only - so there are gaps for sure. Also, the Loop Components in OneNote are coming next year, and were announced last month, so hopefully we will see them soon 😀
I'd also love to see closer Integration of Loop in Teams, with an easy way to add a Loop Tab, and hopefully we see that in the future, as that will make it even better
Hello….is there a way to send an email to Loop similar to how it can be done in one note? Also, can you add links to other pages or workspaces on a page?
Sadly, you cannot send an Email to Loop, to appear in a Workspace. However you could create content inside an E-mail and then copy and paste it as a Loop Component, to bring it into a Loop Page and keep it in Sync. In terms of the links to other Pages or Workspaces, you could create a Loop Component from the Page inside of Loop, and then paste into another Loop Page and it will appear within the Page, and show as a Loop Component 😀
Sadly, just Pages at the moment, and I do hope they add Sections as that would make it a lot better in my opinion. As an alternative you could consider creating a Loop Workspace for Projects, but they again don't provide the ability to create Sections sadly.
I will check that for you again, as I know recently, that recuring events do not support Loop Meeting Notes (that open within the Teams Meeting) but i'll check again 😀
Question - if I am taking notes within a Teams meeting via Loop - can other attendees see my typing / notetaking real-time (I would prefer they can' due to my poor typing skills😂😂)
Thanks for your kind feedback 😀 On the Tagging, I would say 'Sort of' as the answer - as the Tag is more around the Loop Content itself, for exampe the Checklist Tag, would be a Loop Checklist and so forth, but most of the OneNote Tags are not going to be there sadly. In terms of the Search Capability, it's pretty good, all the content on the Loop Page is indexed in MS365 Search, so you can do a key word search and find content within the Loop, and you can also search for content across MS365 too, for content stored in Loop.
Sadly, that's not supported today, and therefore I would recommend raising that to the Loop Development Team, via the link below, as they do review the feedback and plan ahead: feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/34aa14b7-212b-ee11-bdf4-000d3a1f8ced
We'd like to switch from OneNote to loop in our company, but we can't at the moment because it's impossible to create a workspace and share it automatically with a Microsoft group. Currently, the workspace creator has to share it individually with each employee. It's too tedious, and what happens if that person leaves the company? The day we can link a workspace with a Microsoft group, we'll be able to leave OneNote.
OneNote is If t free for non-MS ecosystem users whilst recent videos/info indicates Loop will require a licence under the MS365 umbrella. Does that mean 2 OneNote products - one for MS users and another for non-MS users? Any changes could require a huge number of users having to find another tool and migrate content from OneNote I see Loop is currently free in the Android Playstore
Indeed, you will need Microsoft 365 Licensing or Business Premium to use Loop, and therefore unlike OneNote it will not be available if you had just the Office Desktop Apps installed on your computer. The Loop Mobile Apps are also available on iOS and Android for free, but you would need to login with a work or school account to access them, assuming you had a license to use Loop too. So, OneNote is indeed cheaper 😉
I do think Loop will continue to improve in 2024, as it's only been around for a little while and it does have more features coming next year, so I am hoping it will continually improve
It could happen of course, especially if Loop keeps getting more capabilities which eventually make it the front runner when it comes to taking notes 😀

Thanks for the videos about Loop. I still have a few questions though. The loop is assigned to an individual and not to a teams, right? If so, lets say a corporate division or a project has different members including the manager, if during a meeting, someone is assigned to prepare the meeting minutes, this will be created under the person's individual account and not to the teams channel of the project or the corporate division. But even if you create the loop compoent in a post in a Teams Channel, the component goest to person's loop page. So it seems that loop pages or workspaces is for the individual and not for a group. So in order to keep things on track, visible to everyone, should we create the loop components through the loop app and not using the loop component feature that we can pull out in Outlook or Teams, for example? If this is not the case could you explanin better the difference between using the loop for productivity, task management, meeting note taking etc. and, for example, lists and other tools available in Sharepoint that is linked to a Teams channel? Or there is a loop page assigned to the teams channel? If so, how does this work?
Thanks for your questions and they are difficult to answer in the comments, but i'll consider if we can do a video in the future covering some of these important topics
Have being using onenotes for decade and yes improvement are slow. Seeing this video of using Loop remind me of Miro. Through Miro can do more than Loop. There still some functionality that Loop dont have VS Onenotes through. Like some of the commenters, i am confuse why they develop Loop. For what purpose. Also i do think onenote if being develop further can rival others apps in the market.
Loop lacks read-only permission. Everyone invited can edit which is risky. I like it and have been using it over OneNote, but I can't get others on my team to use it regularly.
There is capability to set Loop Components as Read Only, although you would need to change the Sharing Link settings, and then change it to 'Specific People' and in the drop-down select 'Can View' rather than 'Can Edit' and that will provide Read only access, but I do appreciate that can be complicated, and hard to explain to people in your team who are new to Loop 😀
Still no ink? Honestly the only reason I'm still using OneNote is that it's the ONLY note app I've been able to find that seamlessly integrates text, image, and pen input, for a truly "notes on paper" experience. Oh the number of times I've been excited by "pen input" only to find out it's purely for writing-to-text or relegated to its own area, unable to overlap images and text.
I need to use Loop for work (unfortunately not Notion) due to vetting within the company. I see some benefits and many drawbacks, one being I cannot make TEMPLATES...I can use existing templates but without being able to create my own templates without creating a repository for all the duplicated and shared workspace documents I create. ***Very Frustrating
Sorry to hear you have been forced - it's never ideal when someone forces software on to you. In terms of your frustration, yes at the moment, there is no ability to use Loop to Template Pages. However, you could create a Loop Page and then use Loop's Duplicate option, to effectively use your own Page as a Template. It's effectively a bit of a workaround, but maybe that help 😀
I still can’t believe there’s no easy way to generate a PDF from my loop page. I’ve started using Loop for meetings but I need a PDF record of every meeting… 😢
Yeah - in my simple view of the world; I’m sure there would be a way to print to PDF in a printable view - so maybe something I can look into further 😃
Honestly Microsoft needs to get it together. I’ve just started a more executive role and was looking forward to being productive with more MS apps. But they have correct apps along side replacement apps, multiple todo/ task apps and Lists. It’s so confusing.
My initial reaction is one that Microsoft has groomed into me: mistrust. I immediately find myself asking "will Microsoft abandon this?" They have trained me with their behavior over the last 20 years to expect them to create something cool and promising or maybe just confusing but full of hype only to see them abandon it or completely change course. I'll wait and see how it goes, thank you.
I do think Loop has accelerated in terms of it's new capability against other Apps in Microsoft, but I know your well concerns well, and therefore I do respect your opinion and maybe come back soon and see what's new again, and then make the decision 😀
I'm really sick of learning new software, it's a time waster. From One note to 2 versions of one note, then one version of onenote them they come out with Loop. This is maddening.

This is an amazing video. I now finally see the use of Loop as a daily driver, thanks for making this video.
You are very welcome and I am glad it helped 😀
Hi can you make a video how to integrate the PARA organizing system in loop. I have used Onenote for this.
Can I please ask, after sharing your workspace with Miriam and your page with Nestor, are you able to later remove their access?
Great video, Scott
I have started to use Loop, and I liked it. It was really useful to summarise the comparison against Onenote, as you did.

Hello! This is an amazing video! Do you know if we have an option to migrate OneNote notebooks/sections/pages into Loop?
Thanks for your kind feedback. Sadly, there’s no option to copy or migrate the content automatically into Loop - other than Copy and Paste 😄
Great video Thank you so much for sharing! Eventually loop will support hand write capabilities?
1. Getting instantly all Meeting-Details from Outlook Calendar into my Meeting Notes
2. Sending the final status of my Notes (not editable) with internal/external with one (ok - 2) click via a simple mail. No overhead or 2nd tool to be used by recipients
Also in my projects it is never hard to "share a OneNote", since the OneNote is always part of a Team. New Members are Added to the Team -- >Done.
I like the look and the more structured way via components and also that I can create Tasks as well as that Notification and Planner integration happens via +
There may be something that helps, as I just put a new video live, which covers the new Loop capabilities in OneNote. So you will be able to use Loop in OneNote very soon, and the video outlines how it all works and what you can do 😀
How did you embed Loop into OneNote? The combination of the two seems perfect!
It's coming in 2024 and then you will be able to use Loop within OneNote 😀
@@your365coach that will be awesome!
I'd recommend taking a look at this technical article which explains more about the approach and how it all works 😀
learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/loop/loop-components-teams?view=o365-worldwide
is it possible to change an existing list to tasks? Because, that is a functionalitiy from OneNote that i use often
When I open a new meeting window, I do not see the Add an agenda option. Is there a check box I need to switch somewhere so it will show?
A OneNote notebook can be associated with a Team, therefore the contents are linked to a project, not an individual user. Does this capability exist within MS Loop?
other question. Is there a way I can assign a task outside a task list so even assign it to a piece of text?
Sadly, if we use any type of Task Components, including even the Kanban Board in Loop, it will require a Task Owner to be an MS365 account sadly. However, as the new Kanban Component (released a couple of days ago) does not Sync to Planner, you could possibly not add a Task Owner, as it's not a requirement, and then add some Notes on the Card 😀
I just want to sync loop components into my OneNote. Is there a way to do that?
I wanted to bring over some code blocks.
Sadly, not as yet - I am hoping we will see Loop Integration in OneNote in early 2024, but I don't think there's any official release date as yet sadly
@@your365coach I see. Thank you 🙏🏼
Can you make hand-written notes in Microsoft Loop in the iPad with apple pencil?
Is there a way to add files to loop or send emails to loop?
You can indeed add files into a Loop Workspace which we cover a little in our past Project Management for Loop tutorial on our channel 😄.
However, it’s not possible to send email into Loop but you can create content within an email into a Loop Component and then share that with others, rather than the email itself 🙂
@@your365coachmy adhd must be kicking in. I didnt notice anything about files lol
@@your365coach😅
There is also a way to raise feedback to the Loop Team within Loop, just click on the '?' at the bottom right and you can raise it straight to the team and they do check out that feedback regularly 😀
raised the question/feedback@@your365coach
Maybe I've missed it, but for someone (re)starting in a Microsoft environment, what advantage does OneNote have over Loop? I come from a Notion-only environment, so I don't really see the point of OneNote over Loop.
I have the same question.
Great video! I am wondering if there will be a Loop web clipper at some point.
That would be great! Sadly though I don’t know if that’s planned. The Loop Engineering team review a product feedback page, which I have linked below, so if you raise it there it will be reviewed and possibly upvoted too 😄
feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/34aa14b7-212b-ee11-bdf4-000d3a1f8ced
Hi all, does it have both password security AND a setting to automatically lock if away for a certain set time - on both PC and Android apps?
Sadly not that I have seen specifically in Loop but as it’s a Web App, there’s a 365 Admin setting which can force log off after a period of inactivity in the browser
@@your365coach Interesting pro-tip! Thanks mate.
What about data managemen, export and backup. In onenote I got one file and i'm done. What if I want to move away from loop one day?
Sure, the Workspace is stored in SharePoint Embedded and I have shared a link below to find out more:
learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/loop/loop-compliance-summary?view=o365-worldwide#admin-management-of-loop-workspaces
Sadly, I don’t believe there is a way to add a Co-Owner as yet into the Workspace 😔
Do you have any thoughts or interest in knowing the capability of sending a single page by email, as pdf, like it was in OneNote10?
Sadly, there is no ability to do that directly in Loop. However, you can copy the content, create a Loop Component and then paste it, into an Outlook Message to provide access to the content - and also allow your colleagues to update the content too
As always, a great video, thank you. Have you noticed you can't add the loop component if you assign a channel.
Thanks for your kind feedback, and would the issue relate to when you share content into a Teams Channel and then try to Share it again elsewhere? 😀
Is loop available on an E3 license?
What about having 365 Business? So I still install a loop app? You should consider these things for video instructions
Great content thanks for sharing. As a OneNote lover for many years. I still find the search enginering not doing a well job and I am concerning with Loop too. Let's see how it goes.
Is loop included with business versions of O365 for free or is it an add-on that people have to subscribe to?
Onenote my be 21 years old - but it is still one of the best MS progamms.
It makes me smile that OneNote is old enough (at least here in the UK) to get served a beer! 😉
Thanks for the video. I tried to write using stylus on Xiaomi Pad 6 and it doesn't work.
Thanks for your feedback - I would suggest raising the feedback to Microsoft Support, as it could be that the ink capability works on iPads at the moment , as that is the device I used to show the capability in this video 😀
Seems like Loop replaces (or is at least in conflict with) SharePoint as well as One Note. Any thoughts on that, Scott?
Also, the Loop Components in OneNote are coming next year, and were announced last month, so hopefully we will see them soon 😀
which Microsoft plan are you using for this demo?
Normally our demo environments have E5 Microsoft 365 Licenses 😃
Loop is no way a replacement for OneNote. It is a feature enhancement. It would be nice to be able to have native loop workspaces within channels.
I'd also love to see closer Integration of Loop in Teams, with an easy way to add a Loop Tab, and hopefully we see that in the future, as that will make it even better
I think loop has potential. My main question was if it integrates in Teams, which is a deal breaker for me now.
Are there sections and Pages in Loop ? I see only pages
Sadly, just Pages at the moment, and I do hope they add Sections as that would make it a lot better in my opinion. As an alternative you could consider creating a Loop Workspace for Projects, but they again don't provide the ability to create Sections sadly.
Important question about meeting notes: Does creating a recurring event also create new Loop notes?
I will check that for you again, as I know recently, that recuring events do not support Loop Meeting Notes (that open within the Teams Meeting) but i'll check again 😀
Loop and one note need to do a fusion dance. I want so fully transition to loop from onenote but I can't. Too much is missing
Absolutely - although what could it be called then? Maybe, OneLoop - that sounds cool enough 😀
Works for me
Interesting concept for Collab.
OneNote still King 👑 of your own note taking processes though.
Absolutely, I think the collaboration capabilities are being able to share the Notes & Sync them is a strong win against OneNote 😀
Question - if I am taking notes within a Teams meeting via Loop - can other attendees see my typing / notetaking real-time (I would prefer they can' due to my poor typing skills😂😂)
Can you tag in Loop? Also how is the search capability of Loop? By the way excellent video ❤
Thanks for your kind feedback 😀
On the Tagging, I would say 'Sort of' as the answer - as the Tag is more around the Loop Content itself, for exampe the Checklist Tag, would be a Loop Checklist and so forth, but most of the OneNote Tags are not going to be there sadly.
In terms of the Search Capability, it's pretty good, all the content on the Loop Page is indexed in MS365 Search, so you can do a key word search and find content within the Loop, and you can also search for content across MS365 too, for content stored in Loop.
Years ago, long before twitter, I got into the habit of hashtag tags. Still do it even when I’m in OneNote (work) or Evernote (personal)
@@your365coach I'm guessing Loop doesn't have onenote's OCR capability to make screenshots and image text searchable though :(
How can I sort the pages alphabetically? Now every new page appears at the top.
Sadly, that's not supported today, and therefore I would recommend raising that to the Loop Development Team, via the link below, as they do review the feedback and plan ahead:
feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/34aa14b7-212b-ee11-bdf4-000d3a1f8ced
I'd love to see this capability too, as it could then open up the easier sharing of Loop Pages into Teams too, with synchronisation of the security 😀
OneNote is If t free for non-MS ecosystem users whilst recent videos/info indicates Loop will require a licence under the MS365 umbrella. Does that mean 2 OneNote products - one for MS users and another for non-MS users? Any changes could require a huge number of users having to find another tool and migrate content from OneNote
I see Loop is currently free in the Android Playstore
Indeed, you will need Microsoft 365 Licensing or Business Premium to use Loop, and therefore unlike OneNote it will not be available if you had just the Office Desktop Apps installed on your computer. The Loop Mobile Apps are also available on iOS and Android for free, but you would need to login with a work or school account to access them, assuming you had a license to use Loop too. So, OneNote is indeed cheaper 😉
I was hoping it would be more like Notion
I do think Loop will continue to improve in 2024, as it's only been around for a little while and it does have more features coming next year, so I am hoping it will continually improve
Really interesting and suspect in time loop will replace OneNote
It could happen of course, especially if Loop keeps getting more capabilities which eventually make it the front runner when it comes to taking notes 😀
how import Evernote export in Microsoft Loop,
Thinks
Sadly, I don't think there's any import or migration tool available for Evernote to Loop sorry

Buenas tardes, como se anexa un archivo.?
Desafortunadamente, Loop no tiene la capacidad de adjuntar archivos, como correos electrónicos. En su lugar, necesitaríamos utilizar enlaces compartidos en bucle, que se tratan aquí:

And loop has no offline access to your notes. So no good for me for now
Sadly, yes Loop is indeed only available for Online use, as it's a live canvas 😞
When used for collaboration this starts to look like an alternative to Confluence
What about drawing?
I am not being "forced" to use loop necessarily, I just cannot use Notion. If that makes sense. @@your365coach
That's all well and good, but where's the Mac OS version?
I still can’t believe there’s no easy way to generate a PDF from my loop page. I’ve started using Loop for meetings but I need a PDF record of every meeting… 😢
Yeah - in my simple view of the world; I’m sure there would be a way to print to PDF in a printable view - so maybe something I can look into further 😃

I love Loop but if MS does not provide a way to convert one note pages to Loop pages is going to be tough for many people to abandon the old way
Honestly Microsoft needs to get it together. I’ve just started a more executive role and was looking forward to being productive with more MS apps. But they have correct apps along side replacement apps, multiple todo/ task apps and Lists. It’s so confusing.

LOOP is just like a complex version of Simplenote or simple version of Craft
My initial reaction is one that Microsoft has groomed into me: mistrust. I immediately find myself asking "will Microsoft abandon this?" They have trained me with their behavior over the last 20 years to expect them to create something cool and promising or maybe just confusing but full of hype only to see them abandon it or completely change course. I'll wait and see how it goes, thank you.
I do think Loop has accelerated in terms of it's new capability against other Apps in Microsoft, but I know your well concerns well, and therefore I do respect your opinion and maybe come back soon and see what's new again, and then make the decision 😀
I'm not dumping my One Note
Still one note is far better
How so?
Exactly! I am very curious...Why do you say One note is better?🤔

OneNote Section = Loop what? Clear that OneNote Notebook = Loop Workspace and One Note Page = Loop Page.
One Note Section = Loop Section … I cover how to set that up in our latest Loop video on the channel 😃
Loop looks like copy of notion ;-)
