Tuning in from the 416 here in Toronto. Just love to watch THE GOAT roll through racks as if it's practice session, even though it may be a big tournament. Even at his age he's a force to contend with on the pool table. When he's on his game it's pretty damned hard to beat him. Hope he plays into his 80s. Such a CLASS ACT TOO!!! So I did a quick Google and learned that he and I were born on the same day, exactly one year apart. Sadly, that is the only thing I share with him! Love to watch him play. The 80s and 90s would televise snooker for the most part until 9ball and pocket billiards phenom Reyes set a new standard. He changed my game. I was never more than a young duffer at this game, even though I enjoyed it. But Efron intrigues me. There is something about this affable, pleasant master of masters that make me watch him. It's not just the amazing shots; it's the man himself. Not sure where the sobriquet GOAT came from, but to me he's best I've ever seen.
Age is starting show its influence a bit but his skill set is still there. Plus it was obvious he didn't take this match seriously. If there was money on it I'm sure he wouldn't have missed 3 easy shots

I totally enjoy watching Efren when he plays Earl Strickland and kicks his ass! He's the only guy I love to see lose ! Mr. Attitude! The ironic thing is that he's a very talented pool player and doesn't need to act like an amateur! I enjoy watching everyone else playing. Efren is a good watch and now I'm neutral. The fun is seeing the intensity of the players!
The man is a pool god!!!!! He has two forms of play, clearing the table and a teaching opportunity for the kids. You can tell when Mr. Reyes is going to clear the table or give the kid a chance by simply watching the cue ball. To clear the table, He will put the cue ball exactly where he wants it for each shot, close and tight. When he's "missing on purpose" to give the kids a chance, he will put the number ball next to or behind another ball and then he will leave the cue ball elsewhere on the opposite side of the table to help teach them their geometry. The young people can shoot straight balls but can't bank off the rails at all. If they do bank, it was just a lucky shot if it drops. He will also NEVER embarrass a player beating them 9-0. He will ALWAYS give them games to encourage them to keep trying. It also creates suspense for the audience. Who will be the player to win?????

It seems everyone forgets that at 68 years old, Efren has 63+ years of experience playing a LOT of games, of various types - 8,9,10 ball, rotation straight pool, carom, bank,one pocket,etc and that adds up to seeing the same shots many times. He most definitely has a mind for pool. To play a game with him would be an honor for sure. MASTER GOAT!!!

Great video, I lived in Subic Bay for 8yrs and moved back to Canada 8yrs ago. I've met Efren a couple of times and he's just a gentleman.
