Ak's slap. The x39 round is absolutely underrated. I consider it a battle rifle+round..it may be the best close/medium range combat cartridge ever in my opinion! And the AKM is the best combat rifle! (As long as it's better than an I.O. 😂)
@Bill-mj8hf 7..62x39 isnt a battle rifle cartridge, it's stood small, 7.62x51 is a proper battlefield cartridge and it's much bigger. And personally that's my pick as best medium range (though its likely that the actual best medium range round is .277fury now)

So lucky man. I fired several AKs in Iraq. The first one was worn down to the bare metal, no dustcover, the trunnion was loose and rattled, the pistol grip had duct tape securing it lol there was no lining in the barrel left, the armoror that I showed it to said it had to have had tens of thousands of rounds out through it over _years,_ and it had never been cleaned! Carbon, oil, sand/dust, etc... It felt like a medical discharge just firing the thing on full rock n roll, but it was damn fun!
That moment, I told myself when I got out, I'm getting an AK; any type, every type I could find and afford! I have two now (I have my eye on an RAK-74 at my local spot for $1300+). I just love em man, and I wish I could have a FA so badly ha
I spent years using the M16 (eventually the M4), and I like the AR platform, it's familiar to me and I trusted it with my life ... But as a civilian it's like a Honda Civic to me, driving down a smooth residential road, whereas an AK is like off-roading in a jeep Wrangler (with no doors) 🤙🏻
And that's it boys, damn ammo costs too much after we scored this bad boy we could only afford a 20rd box

@Ban this youtube never buy one box, you get fucked. 7.62x39 was 33c a round 2 years ago. Its now 80c a round if you buy a 20rd box. If you buy 1000 rounds on lucky gunner its 39c so 390$ for 1k rounds. Not bad but considering it costs the importer like 12 cents a round and the manufacturer less than a cent to make them its fucking ridiculous. Always buy ammo in bulk its usually half the price.

And Optics Planet has some between 9 to 15 bucks, mostly brass, last time I saw.

its a chinese copy of the MARPAT, it has shoulder straps and a slightly darker tone than the original MARPAT. I hope this helps!

This weapon saved me in Afghanistan. I ran through all my munitions from my M4-A4. Picked up the AK-47 and smoked everything.

if you're wondering about the difference between an AKM and an AK-47, well an AK-47 has nothing on the right side of the mag well, but an AKM has a block shaped indent on the right side of the mag well, and a couple more bolts there. It's easier to produce that way..

My grandpa absolutely HATED this one in afganistan. He said it was just a poorly made gun that burned your hand in the heat
Pops was wrong man, sorry to tell ya. Either that or he got a crappy khyber pass copy. AKM’s are generally well made, very solid rifles. Yes, they can get hot when you’re firing them but so does every other gun, that’s what the wooden handguard is for. I fired AKM’s in Afghanistan too and they were mostly fine, of course there are plenty of old, clapped out rifles out there because they’ve been making them for like 75 years. I definitely recommend getting yourself a good AK if you can. If grandpa didn’t like them that’s cool, everyone has their opinions, but you can’t argue with history.

@@Penigale yeah i think he went back, I saw a video of him revisiting a bridge that he and his boys used as cover his first time there, the place has since been destroyed, as he discovered on his visit, the underpass was now completely shielded with sandbags and there was bits of wrecked equipment all over the place and shell craters.

Fired a 74 here in Norway. Thought that the recoil would be a lot heavier. But it was nice to handle, can't say the same about the Bullpup remodeled to fire 9MM damn a mate sprayed and couldn't handle it so it lifted up spraying the roof.
