The complexity and beauty of how the notes and contrapuntal melodies weave together are astounding. Ms. Mutter and Ms. Zhou are outstanding performing this magnificent piece.
Thank you so much Anne-Sophie, and the other musicians too. What a fantastic and Fabulous thing, really really love ❤️ listening to you playing with such passion and sensitivity too all of you. And what a marvellous thing, for these two young violinist’s to be able to play with the renounced Anne-Sophie Mutter, who really really incredible for you. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
What a great collection of perfect fitting musicians! Mutter still a phenomenon, and a real artist not only at the violin but also to build such a great polyphonic experience. Thanks so much!
Wow such a high level of playing.. It’s crazy to hear the slightest differences in level between Nancy and Mutter… to really reach that world acclaimed level of Mutter is by such a small margin but by such a higher level.. Mutters sound definitely has an extra Ring of life to her sound
Truly one of the best recordings… The only thing is that I can only hear the characteristics of Mutter, this delicate, mellow sound. It completely outshines Nancy, not that she is a bad violinist, in fact she is a great violinist, however, there is still a gap between Nancy and Mutter.
Every time I hear Mutter, I'm surprised at how original her ideas and expression are. Her music has more character than other great violinists in many cases.
As a violinist, I can say that this is difficult to pull-off due to the potential to loose the the individual notes between all of the players. The recording does not due this justice, but I can tell that this was an excellent performance!

"I am deeply touched that all these years later my music is still being appreciated by classical music fans all over the world. However, I feel compelled to say that I never intended my masterpiece written for two violins to sound like the entire orchestra smoked crack before performing it". JSB
Great music, always a treat to see/hear Anne-Sophie Mutter, but the MTV video-like quality was off-putting. I saw Kian Soltani in the cello section, apparently this was before he became a soloist.
Is the second movement not cool enough for them? The whole thing is also kind of aggressive and fast, leaving insufficient time to hear the subtle bits.
Way too fast. Very mechanical performance. Very little understanding of Bach by the performers. Compare that to the performance of this piece by Yehudi Menuhin and David Oistrakh
Sorry, yes, it’s a faster interpretation but to say that Mutter has little understanding of Bach is categorically wrong Her interpretations tend to be more forceful / dynamic at times but that is her style and her interpretation / not more to it than that
Mutters playing is unique which is what makes her so magical and rare.

Brilliant performance and so happy to see her mentoring young, female violinists.

This leaves me breathless just by listening and watching.
Fabulous!!! A rousing display of how complex harmony can be!
This is such a dope rendition. Some of the passages really start to shine at this tempo.

the renowned Anne-Sophie Mutter ------ renounced - would mean - discarded. Sorry.
Fare thee well - in life's journey.

Das Streicheremseble spielt so fantastisch. Das Doppelkonzert von Bach ist so wunderschön

The wonderfulness and Comfort of Bach‘s music they play with exquisite skill are the world‘s lingua franca
Oh well said!

Wspaniali młode osoby .Jest to również motywacją.Dziekuje.
i liked the darker tone of Nancy
Great rendition❤ so dynamic ❤ Very rare jem of a recording❤ Thanks and love to the team🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️👌🏻
Solo le falta la "base" electrónica..
Ay Si Karajan levantara la cabeza!!!

Her vibrato is most marvellous indeed.
Well, anne sophie is more than 40, there is sth that come with age. She played this piece a lot
@@iaf4454she is 60 I believe - see her birthday concert on YT. She also has two beautiful Stradivarius violins worth a few million…..

Please listen to Voices of Music - Elizabeth Blumenstock and Alana Youssefian
Mutter asserts her dominance here. Her sounds are so refined, expressive and on top of the ochestra.
I can litsen this all day

Anne is such a MONSTER on this song!
Excellent!
Great!!!
My favourite rendition of the 3rd movement!
Bravo! Danke sehr viel
Magnifique ❤. John the french guy
Perfect Tempo! Always played too slow. This nails it beautifully. And even more to my taste - scrap the 2nd movement! In love. Bullseye!!!
Fantastic and truly original performance: interpretations are not static...they must evolved...
This is a very brisk version, and I like it!

I see two cello power House. I love the way they play and make it seem less difficult 😂
Sometimes Mutter just plays too fast. There are certain recordings where she is my favorite but the Menuhin/Oistrakh performance still is my favorite
Oh, the joy!! Brava!

Where they are going? Are they rushing to finish as soon as possible because they are late for dinner?
😅
Love the tutelage
Bravo!!!!!!
Goose bumps.
Incredible performances!
Reminds me of something I read recently, "He may be terrific, he may be terrible -- but he's never nice. Not Bach!"
Maravilloso
An absolute Goddess. And I'm heavy metal,
Ist echt ganz gut...
spritely tempos. what happened to the 2nd mov?
wunderbar
So fierce.
2:53 tripped over her strings.
Muy buena excelente
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow. What tempo
I see two cellists Pablo and Kian back there!
where was the middle movement?
Oh WOW!
Let's face it: the dynamic of this rendering is nothing short of Bach's vision of playing. He was no dormant individual.
❤
hysterical version
Fabulous! Viva ASM!
❤❤❤
wait, it’s the original speed?? So fast! Checked twice to make sure I didn’t play it 1.5x
SUBLIME.

Too fast imo.
It’s just her unique interpretation. I personally like her interpretation but also enjoy more subtle variations. Purely subjective
brus lee sisters )
Wyatt happened to the 2nd movements?
A brisk version for the busy person who loves classical music but is on a time crunch 😂
Well it a measured fellow, that can walk the streets of Paris, and find the History of peace.
The recording I own of this is Hilary Hahn. I've always been a fan of the passionately fast final movement.
Fast. Did they skip the 2nd movement?
too fast! My God it's a shame...who was the director?? a disaster!with that speed, all the feeling that Bach put in his composition is lost!
No, that is OK,,,,5 e Speed and No Musik. Mutter ist self. But very sexy,,,,😊😊😊
I came here only for the 2nd movement 😅😅😅
I am now flying
Amazing music and musicians but got dizzy from the video jumping all over the place.

Barbara Stanwyck should have studied violin, her resemblance to Mutter is somewhat pronounced. Barbara's husband Robert Taylor played the cello.
Anne-Sophie Muter is an "has-been". Nancy Zhou rules!!
You wish you can play like Anne Sophie mutter but you can’t 😂😂😂
