I've heard many people play this piece, but I think she's the best.

Sometimes Mutter just plays too fast. There are certain recordings where she is my favorite but the Menuhin/Oistrakh performance still is my favorite

Bach's music has more than the touch of the Divine. These two soloists were magnificent. An absolute wonderful performance by all.

How smart and beautiful she looks with this masterpiece. But they don't say in which town it happens. I saw the Sankt Peter Kirche in Munich where she lives. And after such a radiant smile of the Diva shaking hands with the other members of the Orchestra.

Way too fast. Very mechanical performance. Very little understanding of Bach by the performers. Compare that to the performance of this piece by Yehudi Menuhin and David Oistrakh

Espectacular!

I tend to judge every performance of this piece by the entry of the oboe above the violin at 8:30 in the adagio, maybe because it is so exquisitely done by Yehudi Menuhin and Leon Goosens in my favorite recording of it. These performers do a very fine job all through, and they hit that entry very convincingly.
