- In todays video we compete at Night #2 of the Dirt Cup at the Skagit Speedway in the Tanner Holmes Racing #18T. The Dirt Cup is the biggest 410 Sprint Car race in the Northwest. This was the 50th annual event and it is paying $50,000 to win!

Don’t give him the victory. Thank God your ok and keep pressing on. God will bless you. Look at Trevor Bayne in NASCAR. He’s had a big struggle but now back racing with a great team and cars. He got his new blessing.
Ahh, god will bless you, really, he crashed twice, very bizarre philosophy, but what’s not bizarre is the great family connection and support.

If "The absolute worst weekend of racing in my entire life" can still be stated after you exit the track and a car for the last time, you'll feel good about your racing career. Oh yes, it can be so very much worse than this. And make no mistake: CARLY IS BOSS! So impressive. Love the interaction between big brother and sister. She obviously gives you a boost. Beautiful to witness.
Last Saturday as when I watched you roll out to the A-Main, I was dumfounded given the results of Thursday and Friday nights. I wondered where the 18T team found the time, the equipment and parts to have a racecar ready to compete. I knew they a had the driver. That will was the best 18th to 11th place finish you will remember forever. Deuces! ✌✌
So sorry about your cars buddy, but glad you're okay!! Hang in there Tanner, things will get better!! Just sucks getting through the low times!! You're a strong willed young man and you inspire others to be as kind hearted as you! You're an excellent racer and this will just be a race story you can remember how you willed yourself through it!!!
Struggles like these are what makes wins more meaningful, keep at it, it will come together!
Glad to see your ok first and foremost. Weather the storm, you will get though it and it will get better. Just have to keep believing it will turn around. I know you haven't had the best luck lately on the racing side of it, but man you sure are lucky to have the family support system. Your dad, Carly and crew are awesome. Take a breath and drive hard. I look at it this way ; It's only June & there's alot of Racing left to do. You have family and sponsor support that is Rock solid. Look at how many times crazy asses like Wolfgang, Jacobs, Haudenschild, Doty, and others have flipped and junked cars back in the day.
There's someone out there that junked their only car and is done for the season already. Your motivational speaker Gary is spot on!
So glad you stuck it out because you persevered and got 11th from 18th which 11th place isn’t something to be super happy about but the 1st 2 nights kicked your butt and to roll the car on the trailer and finish the race was huge I think
Just glad you were alright in both of those wrecks . MY wife and kids we were there all 3 nights and rooting for you. Bad luck is all that was. So glad you had a good run on final night and so proud of you and your team.

Hey Tanner, keep your head up. You know there will be ups and downs, just work through it and things will turn around. You've had two pretty bad wrecks and other than being a little banged up you're in shape to go for the money. I would say someone is watching over you. I hope y'all get it put back together and give them heck.
Dude, I am so proud of you and your attitude. The great news is that you are one helluva a driver and it shows every single race. You did not make mistakes this weekend. This is racing and sometimes it sucks and sometimes it is amazing. You keep going and keep your head up. This crap you are going through will make the wins so much sweeter.
Glad to see you moving forward. Things will get better now that you have proven your worth to the racing gods.

I have to tell you brother that I've watched both day one and two a couple of times (the second with my GF with the admonition, you won't believe what he went through), that first hit alone was so violent and INSTANT, and the rollover... great tip to the safety design of the modern sprint car. The fact you went through both of those days and then came back and got on the horse was one amazing story of courage, and what its like to commit to your craft. Professional all the way, and congratulations, its one hell of a story that weekend. (edit it to one long movie :) ) Thanks for sharing your world. Definitely a fan.
This sport will tear you down in a hurry. You have a good team and family behind you. This is the hardest form on motorsports and you are on your way. Good luck love the attitude. Thanks for taking us along.

I understand the frustration when you are getting taken out and you haven't done anything wrong. It sucks being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but keep your chin up and press on. The 18T looks to be running stronger than ever and you day is coming!!!
Brother, don't get discouraged, that's dirt racing. I've been there, done that. Be thankful for your parents, sis, crew, and your sponsors. YOU walked away, cars can be replaced, you can't!!!!
Go out and do your best in the big show and do not let the track beat you!!!!!

What tough weekend. But keep your head up and keep moving forward. If it was easy everyone would do it. You’ll have tough nights. It’s racing. But always try to find a spot I’ve out of everything. One day it will all click. And you will know when that day is. Rooting you in all the way from Ohio.

Being concerned about your condition for the hard hit the night before, I uttered a string of swear words watching live on FLO. Good Grief, two nights in a row getting caught up in someone else's mistake! Glad to see you had had enough pieces & parts to prepare a solid car for the finale. Allard wins the trophy for most cars hit, bumped and/or cut off for the weekend. Josh Wise drives like a crazy man, not really dirty, just plain WILD. Tough Expensive Weekend, but as per another comment, "...don't let the Devil take control..." Trust in God and do what it takes to get back running soon. Glad to see that Carly gets an opportunity to race this weekend, she certainly earned it working on your car. Best wishes to both of you this weekend. God Bless

That wreck happened right in front of me in Section B, That OH NO...being screamed from there was me. Really felt bad for you Kiddo. But I knew you were physically alright. As I said to you in the pits that night, if it wasn't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all. I did say your luck would change and night 3 went better, You mention your team around you. All very important. But always remember, You'll Never Walk Alone. It's a song that became a hit in the 1960's by Gerry & the Pacemakers. There is always a lot more people who wish you well, want you to do well, and are here for you if you need it. 👍
I know it’s frustrating but racing is full of frustration just keep your head up Tanner come back stronger you just want to throw your hands up and ask what do I have to do to get a break stand up brush yourself off and keep pushing forward

I’ll say this. We are still running a slightly bent front end, with a rear end that leaks, a 09 88.5/40 J&J on bull rings with older shocks BUT. With that being said, you’re a good kid with such a good soul I’ll never be envious or jealous you’re family has money, because of the person they have raised you to be. At the end of the day you’re not injured and are lucky enough to have the ability to keep racing being physically, financially, and mentally. I hope the best for you and enjoy watching you succeed. God is always good.
Tanner your aloud to feel exactly how your feeling! Anyone in that position would be just as pissed and upset, and u should be. That’s so much time, effort and money right out the window in a split second and what felt like pretty much the same incredible incident twice. It is frustrating very frustrating, but how you and your family/team over come these times speaks wonders! Y’all need to be proud of who y’all are man!

Man that’s some tough luck. As everyone else said keep your chin up and thank God you are not hurt. Cars can be fixed and replaced. And that lil sis of yours is pretty amazing. A bad season gets worse. I respect your move not to head out to Knoxville, and that other Midwest track. It's just nice to have downtime to think how to go along with the rest of the race season.

I seen much harder wrecks at Skagit when I was a kid in the 70s. I seen one went way high in the air and landed on the nose of the car and split the car down in half including the engine. He went like 30 to 40 feet in the air.

most of the time when your racing up front its ok but when you have to race back with the pack each driver is trying to do different moves get forward which can be hard because they are going from the bottom to the top of the track crossing over each other this is where you can get into more crashes .when you are in the top 5 on the track its a lot better racing
These are the times when you need to be at your strongest, mentally. You got this. Keep trying man. The key is to not give up. That’s the last thing to do. Try something else, man. Shake things up. You’ll be fine.

It was a rough trip. Cory Day had a weird spin and that was what got you jammed up. I was surprised to see you out there the next day. You have a great crew!

Tanner, you are going through a tough patch. It with turn around. Look at the positives. You made a great run in your heat race and only bad luck took your third place away. In the main you were running in a sweet spot and Murphy's Law got you again. But you have a great team behind you, you qualified for the Dirt Cup and you are healthy after two big hits. Look forward and not back and you will be rewarded.
