Those days PL was very violent and these types of stuff were very common. Arsenal fans crying over one particular match in the comments like it would have got them 10 PL or 2 UCL trophies makes me laugh very hard. Oh by the way I ate too much rice today. If you know what I mean Arsenal fans.

I'm a United fan and the team had less marquee signings but the team was able to perform due to sir Alex Ferguson. Because of him the team performed even with average players. Vidic was best but old and team's defence was bad. Mid was average, wings were better and attack was great

Not sure what you are talking about. United had a better goalie than Barca and better centerbacks than Barca. The best left back in PL in Evra. A prime Rooney, a prime Carrick and Scholes and Berbatov was the league top scorer.

Football is stronger place now the game is much quicker. I hate it when people think that players and teams in the past were better. I was watching full matches of teams back in the early and mid 2000's and late 1990's were they struggled to play from the back when they tried, defenders were mosly hoof the ball players. The intensity now is much quicker there is a big difference when watching liverpool and city of now with arsenal, united and chelsea of back then, although they still had great players. So fans should embrace the present.

You're missing a major part of United's tactics that day. The Nevilles spent the first half kicking Reyes, focusing on the ankle he injured in a European game a few days before. RVN took out Ashley Cole. They effectively disabled Arsenals left hand side, which you pointed out where their main goal threat was. All United had to do was be patient in the second half and wait for their moments.

Or what about when Pires dived in your "Invincible" season against Portsmouth at highbury which won Arsenal a penalty and rescued you a point and robbed Portsmouth of 3 points? Should we also talk about that? You got beaten fair square. Take the L and move on with your life. It was 16 years ago. About 98% of the players who played in this game have retired. This game became notorious for two things.the absolute thuggery against REYES, player after player took turns to kick, him and not a ,THE SECOND 5HING, not a yellow card or any action from the ref...THE thuggery did not stop at REYES, but this was the worst example.

Okay. Lets talk about Ashley Cole WWE tackle on Ronaldo in the penalty box 5 minutes later at 9:05 which the ref didn't give Man United a penalty? Or should we also talk about Pires dive in your "Invincible" season against Portsmouth which won Arsenal a penalty and rescued you a point and robbed Portsmouth of 3 points? Should we also talk about that? You lot got beaten fair and square. Take the L and move on with your life. It was 16 years ago. About 98% of the players who played in this game have retired. About 1% of them are still playing on the verge of retirement and 1 of them is dead. Fergie is no longer Man United's manager. Wenger is no longer Arsenal's manager. Move on !!!!

@@04foreverinvincible69 If Wenger had played the same way throughout the last season (03/04), there would have been no Invincibles. In games where they ought to go out and win, they defended and settled for a “negative football” draw like some mid-table club. And don’t tell me Wenger never applied dirty fouls. Pires, Bergkamp, Henry, etc., as much as I am in love with their flair and elegance (even as a Utd fan) were known to employ dark arts here and there throughout their careers. They didn’t do that on this ground and that’s why they lost. You don’t go in half-hearted.

@@colouredIncognito I am seriously doubting that you watched 2000s or 90s games. No pressing? Are you kidding? I recently watched Brazil vs. Holland in 98 World Cup and the second half and extra time were a truly amazing and thrilling game, pure spectacle. There were lots of pressing. Even late 80s games had some decent pressing, just not in the opposition's defenders and goalkeeper (which would be pointless back then anyway because the goalkeeper could grab the ball with his hands anytime that he wanted to stop any pressing). I refuse to call the 2000s outdated when the greatest team ever, the technical pinacle of football, was Guardiola's Barcelona 2008-2012.
