My Canon EOS R6 is incredibly sensitive to specs of dust, even after befaco brushing. And my 60 year old eyes just can't see it. Jason from Instruo kindly advised me to brush my modules before making a video. But I don't plan or script so sometimes it needs a 'quick and dirty' solution :).
Do not buy another Erbe-Verb just to get it in black. Do not buy another Erbe-Verb just to get it in black. Do not buy another Erbe-Verb just to get it in black. Who am I kidding?
I found EV to be a better sound source than end of chain verb. However .. use at end of chain and send an EOC at it the size CV in. The gate signal .. and makes a cool SPLASH sorts sound that complements the end of said function event
I know what you mean. My old EV also has a defective pot on the decay, but it's weird response is so cool that I don't want it repaired. As you've seen I have tons of MakeNoise and the only issues I had was with a very old RxMx, an early Morphagene and this EV. I'd like to add that they're easily fixed by a DIY guy. I contacted MakeNoise about this, and they sent me 10 replacement pots free of charge, just in case. The reason for these pots is aesthetics so you don't have this big screw on the panel and your knobs sticking out. But it comes with the price of vulnerability.
If I had to start all over again with zero modules, the Bat would be my reverb of choice (since it's a platform and I can load other firmwares too). But NOTHING can replace an EV. I would always end up getting a used one.
I love the Erbe-Verb, I've not had one in a while though. It's funny that people always think Erbe-Verb should have been stereo. It is stereo. 99% of "stereo" reverbs take a stereo input and sum it to mono, which is processed by the reverb & output as stereo with extra spatializers. Your "stereo" input only exists as stereo in it's dry form on the output. Starlab does this...
I understand what you mean, but I do not agree. A soundstage has a near/far space where near sounds can move L/R and far sounds go more to the center unless they travel a long distance from left to right like a train. Erbe-Verb will always place your source in the center while reverb can move freely in stereo. It's claustrophobic. I used to see this as a limitation, but with a SUM out (Moddemix, Opto) and XPAN you can create amazing near/far soundstages. My ECR+ convolution can use two stereo impulse files for the front and the back of a 'stage'. That's just perfect. You can have concrete walls nearby and a huge hall in the distance.
@@CinematicLaboratory A little late reply ;) I get you. It takes a little more work & modules for sure. It's still great & a creative reverb for sure. I did not know the ECR+ used stereo impulse files (x2!) that is wild. Cheers for the reply
Thanx for sharing🙏, erbverb is a great sound source! Love to create percussion/cymbal sounds with the erb too! Greetings and have a nice weekend 🖖👽
I love the way you added artificial dust to hide the real dust! 😊

@@CinematicLaboratory Necessity is the mother of invention, right.. 😉. I'm 8 years your senior mate!
Your videos are still the best videos. Not to even mention your audio.
That final happy accident 👌🏻
Erbe-Verb is poetry.
Totally agree.
@@CinematicLaboratory End of chain is … you know ;-)
lovely tribute.
if I am to assume that make noise will eventually release a stereo reverb module, then I am to assume that I am excited for it

I got all OG modules and prefer it that way
That's very good advice but doesn't work. Like don't get married when all alarms go off telling you 'no'.
Still a lot of starch in the old Corvette. Nice drive around the block. Knurlies are handy convenience with frequent swapping.
Yeah, but in M2.5 they're silver. Argh.

That's exactly what I was trying to point out. Mediocre as a reverb, but excellent as a sound design tool :)
If only my erbe verb wasn’t pot-scratchy….
If only make noise weren’t using cheap pots on there modules.

Limited to how ever many they can sell
Too bad the QMMG wasn’t “limited” 😂
Two DXG's make a QXG :). Also a fun experiment. I am planning to get a second one somewhere this year.
would you consider replacing it for a bat verb?
If I had to start all over again with zero modules, the Bat would be my reverb of choice (since it's a platform and I can load other firmwares too). But NOTHING can replace an EV. I would always end up getting a used one.

Hi Robert I’m selling a 3:4 yr old Erb Verb that I only used perhaps twice , Silver version as I’m downsizing on Modules in rack🇬🇧🌈🌈🔱🦋🕸🆒
Sorry to hear that, Martin, but I know your budget is tight. Already own two EV's so I can't help you here.
