    I have looked at so many videos on how to reattach my blade engagement spring. The old one broke and I had no idea what hole it was supposed to hook in to. The rest of it was still attached so easy to follow but the spring broke in half and was completely gone. This was the easiest video to follow.

      @@fixitFlip No problem. The compliment is well deserved. I watch a lot of you tube and use it to do many projects i wouldn't otherwise do. So, i been trying to get this mower deck back on after someone else took it apart and your video was simplified to the point that i now know exactly what i need to do tomorrow at first day light! But i started watching different videos about this mower deck a few weeks ago and not a single one was even close to being as good as yours was just to the point. Seriously, go watch some of these other videos and compare them to your own. It could only help you to see what exactly you are doing that is so right. Maybe go look up some subject you don't already know. Then you wil know what i mean. Thanks again.

    recently with the help of one of your videos I was able to install new spindles on my Pony. The old spindles I took off were the ones that came on the mower and they did not have grease fittings but the new ones I put on do have grease fittings. Are new spindles like this full grease and the grease fittings are just to allow you to make sure they can be kept full of grease or are they totally empty when you get them requiring you to fill them with a grease gun before you use them for the first time? If you could comment on this I would appreciate it. I didn't see anything on the box or any instructions mentioning anything about this. Thanks again for your help.

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ones that come on the mower are "maintenance free." The ones that come with zerks should have grease in them out of the box, but it never hurts to top them off just in case. I've seen a lot of goofy things come out of factories.

    Your PTO spring comes out a lot easier than mine. I had messed with it for like 30 minutes before looking up this video. I finally realized if I slid the deck back, I could get the spring under a bar and a higher angle then it popped right out. I have the Bronco, it's basically the same model, I think the engine is the only thing different. And apparently the bar that was in my way, I didn't see it on yours. Also the hook on your PTO looks smaller. Mine was re-manufactured so maybe they put some different pieces on it.
    I got it off though, blades changed, this video showed me I needed a higher angle - work smarter, not harder - very helpful.

    I just went through all this and when I went to put the deck back on, it ended up with one end being further back than the other. To where the levers that attach to the deck to lift it up and down only matched on one side. I don't know if attaching the idle spring first made it pull to one side more causing the deck to be slightly diagonal, but it started pouring rain and I had to detach everything and will have to try again tomorrow.

      @@fixitFlip , if I had this problem, others may as well. I had positioned the PTO in the on position which made it shorter.
      I had a somewhat rounded off nut and couldn't get it off. It sat with WD40 for a couple of days while I got a 15/16th socket. Looking back on it, deepwell sockets aren't the way to go for this as they may tilt.
      With the deck off and on its side, piece of wood and clamp to keep the blade from moving, breaker bar and setting it at about the 10 o'clock position, it allowed me to push down with my weight. After a couple of tries, it popped and came loose.
      I hope this helps someone else. Being on the side like a clock, you can simply push down or now have lots of room to add an additional pipe to the breaker bar.
