I remember watching this match like it was yesterday. Venus played so well this year making multiple grand slam finals. Venus and Serena as the the only active players and open era players with the longest winning streak in women's tennis with 35 matches for Venus and 34 matches for Serena. They did this on multiple occasions. These women are a phenomena that happens once in a life time. Thank you Venus and Serena for inspiring us. Keep on shining!

I’m the biggest Serena fan ever, but Serena leaned into the “24” talk unlike Graf. Graf knew she was the Open slam record holder and she knew her body wouldn’t hold up so she retired. Serena is not letting no one win, not even her sister, 😂 i love both of them. My loving son bought tickets for us to see the first of her final play. She won and i had the opportunity to see her in person.

I wish this were more of a real rivalry but once Serena beat Venus in the 2003 FO Final, which I think was her first time beating her big sister at a Slam, she never looked back. I think Venus only beat her like once in a Slam after that.
