From Wikipedia:
New Rochelle (/ˌnɜːrəˈʃɛl/; older French: La Nouvelle-Rochelle) is a city in Westchester County, New York, United States, in the southeastern portion of the state. In 2020, the city had a population of 79,726, making it the seventh-largest in the state of New York. Some residents refer to the city as New Ro or New Roc City.
Wow my home city. I was born in NYC and raised in New Rochelle from birth. It has changed so much. It brings back so many fond memories growing up there in the 90s and early 00s. What a great time to be a kid. It used to be so lively. My parents still live off Webster avenue. I come back every now and then to see then for the holidays. It makes me sad to see how the whole vibe of the city has changed from what I've known it to be.
Man i live on webster, closer to the highschool than downtown. I've heard a lot of people talk about how new ro has changed over the years, but i was born early 2000s so i never knew the old new ro that people talk about. Could you tell me about what was different back then? I mean I've watched most the new sky scrapers go up, but trump plaza and those 2 brick ones have been there my whole life. So i never knew new ro without skyscrapers. I'd just like to know how things were like for my city before i was around.
I also live in New Rochelle since 2000s. It’s so beautiful and safe as well
Did you attend Trinity Elementary, Isaac Young or NR High School? Do you know Renee or James Lakowitz? Thank you in advance.
How old are you? I might know u..did u go to issac e young?
@@ItsLencii - My kids Renee and James Lakowitz went to IEY in the late 1990’s / early 2000’s. Did you know them?
I moved to New Rochelle 2 years ago and I never want to leave. Maybe I spend winter in Miami when I retire but I still need to be in new Rochelle . I’ve lived in every borough and tried to live in other cities in other states. New Rochelle is it
I lived in Newroc for 25 years. There were no high rises then. Now there are several and even more to come. Its only 45 min from B'way just like the song in the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy
New Ro is only 10 minutes from the BX....

Thanks so much for a great ride of memories. Loved it. Moved away 5 yrs ago bought was brought up there along with my parents and grand parents. Great video. Memories !!!!
Thanks for the drive down memory lane. New Rochelle was a great place to grow up in the 60's.
If you ever drive though again please be sure to drive by Hudson Park and see Echo Bay. Another place to
be sure to see would be Glen Island. I could have used a little more of the West because I grew up on Second Street
just down the hill from Union Avenue. It was full of Italians back then.
Nice ride along bro, love seeing those back roads u took at the end. My first time seeing that part of New Rochelle. Hope to see some Travels through Mamaroneck, Larchmont and Bronxville
Great Vid!
This is the town where the characters Rob and Laura Petrie from the old Dick Van Dyke Show lived.
Carl Reiner actually lived there.
Nice ride along New Rochelle NY
This was about 1.5 miles from where my twin brother lives, and 2.5 miles from where my sister lives. Take a left onto Eastchester Rd. just past Iona University and go toward Chester Heights. My brother lives just before the road turns before going under The Hutch (Hutchinson River Parkway).
Don't know why, felt compelled to look at New Rochelle videos. Originally from Ossining. Now in Trinidad and Tobago. In High School organized an exchange with students there. ('78)Nice time. Both similar and different. Be well neighbors
What a beautiful town New Rochelle is, Mike!
I live here.

I live in new ro too, and I love it. A lot of people i know hate it thou so i dont know what most people feel about it. But i think its perfect. You got everything you could want downtown. There's any kind of restaurant and there's a good amount of bars scatted about. The coast and the islands off it are beautiful parks, and the city itself is very walkable. I've gotten around for nearly a decade on an old bike no problem. The only thing thay new ro lacks in my opinion is a true night life. After about midnight the whole city is pretty dead. But you always got NYC right next door. Ive biked into the bronx no problem, and the train in new ro brings you right to grand central. New ro is just the right amount of city for me. It has everything you need, and anyone you'd wanna meet, but isn't massive and still quites down for the night. All with easy access to NYC. I love it
Nice town.
Our hands slip and yes in the Bronx courty Ny since Wednesday July 1, 2020
I live right on the boarder of New Ro & Eastchester. A 2 min drive.
Just out of curiosity. What is the car you are driving? The engine sounds familiar.

So everyone, on a scale from 1-10 how would u rate it for living in 2023? Safe?
Lived there my whole life, keep you mouth shut and workout regularly. And it's heaven on earth.
How far is this town from Albany, NY?
About 150 miles via the I-87
It's just NE of The Bronx, with Pelham in between that borough and New Rochelle.
