  • The existing Alcantara dash wrap on this 350z was made a while ago, and since then we've drastically leveled up the process, so we tear everything off and do it again, showing you all the steps if you wanted to try it yourself.
    ASMR quiet car crafting. No talking. No music. Just the sounds of the process.

      Well I've only been doing this a year or so, so it's definitely something you can improve at quickly with some practice and patience. We all start at the most basic pieces, and a year ago my work was a LOT simpler, and tbh, a lot worse. I'm sure you'll get there. If there's anything you think would be helpful to see, let me know.

    It looks amazing! I have a 350z and I'm about to do this and hopefully parts on the doors too. What kind of adhesives did you use? Also where do you buy the Alcantara from?

      Yeah it definitely works best (I think) when you do the doors too. I did them and it really completes the look.
      The adhesives are all shown at the various stages of the video, but generally a good brush on contact adhesive, and a spray contact adhesive or a trim bond spray are what you want.
      As for the Alcantara I use Direct Fabric Warehouse in Leicester in the UK

    Looks great! Sorry if I missed something in the video but did you put a solid piece of material without any cuts/scores over the passenger airbag deployment area?

    • @ValentineAutos
      @ValentineAutos  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You didn't see it as it's wasn't videoed, but the backing was indeed scored prior to laying it. That being said the material is designed to rip pretty easily in case of deployment, so should the worst happen it should hopefully all be ok.

    What do you use on the microfibre to remove excess glue when you get it on the Alcantara?

    • @ValentineAutos
      @ValentineAutos  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      White spirit. Works a treat as it dissolves the glue off but doesn't penetrate the hydrophobic coated material.

      Superb. Always used gloo gone but then I had to re glue the material back down. Thanks for the share.

    Is the glue to make it permanent ?

    • @ValentineAutos
      @ValentineAutos  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You mean the spray adhesive? It makes it reasonably permanent, but as you see at the start it can be removed (and cleaned up with white spirit). It's needed to hold everything in place though, especially with concave curves.

    How much a nice job like this could cost?

    • @ValentineAutos
      @ValentineAutos  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Would really depend on the car, but the material is around £100 a meter (though you'd only need 1m for the dash) and the manufacturer anything from £300-1000 I expect, again depending on difficulty and your location
