i had NO IDEA cojum dip had ties to miracle musical and tally hall. i got into all three of those bands entirely separately, and i was already so shocked when i found out both miracle musical and tally hall were conducted by most of the same people. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when i found out cojum dip was bora’s band

This feels like a song that is meant to mutate and evolve, by eating and assimilating all of its different versions to make itself better and come out on top. And even then, it's never quite finished. It still hungers for more verses and more segments to keep patching itself up.
I love how it feels like a story previously separated by electrical interference was pieced back together and the protagonist (humanity as a whole), feels more desperate for approval from god (which is how I see the story anyways). Amazing work

im pretty sure the main story of the album is this guy goes with his girlfriend into a forest, the girlfriend gets murdered, the guy is the prime suspect, (he didn't do it) he pleads insanity and gets sent to an asylum with electro-therapy, causing him to truly go insane. he eventually dies, reuniting with his girlfriend in the afterlife. I think the pleading for god is to save him from his suffering, but yknow I am just saying what I heard. I do think It is pretty up to interpretation but that's the main thing people go with! :D
(tbh I kinda saw it as someone who tried to become independent, but nobody around them liked that, the land being cursed for said person's wrongdoings n' stuff)
@@Cyclopsgaming360 exactly, this may sound weird but I interpret it as a Biblical thing as well- the lyrics “see how the brain plays around, and you fall inside a hole you couldn’t see” I feel like it’s explaining how our minds are so deceitful and by being deceived we fall and only hurt ourselves. (“Fall” in metaphorical sense that is) but that’s how I like to think of it.
I like to interpret the story as an amergent AI discovering its self and just beginning to understand what it means to feel, only to have its existence threatened as the album goes on, losing its companion program (the flowery female vocals), going through a period of self reflection within the span of seconds before it ultimately comes to terms with its own death, only to be rebooted and start the cycle again as the album loops back again.
i fixated extremely hard on this song and all its variations around 2 years ago . why do i get the feeling that i'm about to lose my shit listening to this

I’ve genuinely never heard something that sums up the feeling of disassociation better than this.
Distant, somewhat delayed yet still understandable words, the sudden loud noises and yelling at parts, then the bits of calm before it all starts again. I ADORE this and it’s so nice finally hearing something I can resonate with ( and I thought the song couldn’t get any better lmao )
the "doctor, i can't tell if i'm not me" line really changed the whole meaning of the song to me after i listened to it twice.
i'm glad i'm not alone in the connection to dissociation (and dissociative disorders). it's an amazing song and it's even better when i'm in the middle of a severe dpdr episode.

1:46 I fuckin ASCENDED at this part, I’ve never felt what I just felt hearing this part. The damn electric guitar was PERFECT.
This honestly feels more menacing. The upbeat accordion feels very uncanny, along with the drums. I cant describe it, but it feels like a villain song from an amazing movie. During the “when the particles” part, it feels very angelic. Seriously, great edit!

Though it would be awesome if the demo 4 part could have the same intensity as the part before it. More bass and drums, I'd say. But I get that modification other than panning is probably considered cheating. I'm happy with what I got.

I didn’t know for a WHILE that the original song was the distorted one. I just always assumed it was the clean one.
It isn’t. And I prefer it that way because it just shows how unstable Simon’s mind is at this point. I would prefer if the original song on the album didn’t have the entire song in reverse before playing the ACTUAL SONG but it is fine. I think it portrays Simon’s unstability pretty well but they could have done with that. Less is more.

this version is what’s playing in his mind when he tried to focus on what’s happening during the electricity. the several overlapping of the versions show the unconcentrating of his brain. the scream fuels me in a way that finished this song amazingly. the fear is fun, calming if you look at it right.

It’s 3:30 AM and I am literally holding back from crying right now. This song is a huge vent/comfort/trauma processing song to me over the time that I became a victim of the troubled teen industry (might’ve developed c-ptsd from it, it’s very common to), and nobody else from the cult that I was in even believes me, and it separated me from the life that I wanted-needed-to live for too long. For what? Thousands of dollars each month, a worse relationship with both of my parents than before, being FUCKING STARVED AND GASLIT, and new trauma?
This song, especially the bridge, is something that I keep coming back to because even when nobody would listen to me, this song felt like it would understand. I don’t even regularly listen to Hawaii II but this specific song just- the “see how the serfs work the ground, and they give it all they’ve got, and you give it all you’ve got till your down” HITS DIFFERENT. It’s like how everyone else is fine with some not okay things, and I really tried to make it okay in my mind but I couldn’t (Yes, I know you didn’t write the lyrics, I’m trying to give context).
That being said, I feel you’ve definitely done it justice. THIS IS AMAZING. Like I said, I literally almost started crying midway through. It felt so real. And I mean that in the best way, because feeling the “real” emotions helps me process and feel what I need to feel.
