I only watched the dang Eurovision for his commentary - Such a great dry wit and his put downs were classic. He once referred to Mill Street where the contest was being held in Ireland as a cow shed.. lol.
I wish he was still with us to do this. Graham norton used up all his bag of tricks in his first year and has been as uninspiring as his fawning chat show ever since. RIP Sir Terry.
The best and most exciting finish ever!!!! Look at Fionnuala face and listen to her comment during the Dutch vote(voting 4/5) , Its classic and shows how human nature takes over professionalism!!!!!!!!
@rebelabu he is doin' the right thing. England is his home. And when in Rome and so on. Immigrants should always try and become part of their adopted country and fit in and be proud of it. Terry Wogan knows where is from and helps irish talent all the time but he is paid in pounds not euros.
I think you're thinking of Des Lynham, Terry Wogan is very popular in Ireland. People in Ireland know he's from Ireland as do the British public who voted him their favourite Irishman. He's never denied he was Irish. Just because he made a career for himself in the UK doesn't mean he's denying his citizenship
I miss terry making jokes about the hosts, other nations, and songs then saying "its all political you know spain always votes for france, then france votes for spain".
Here in Ireland, Terry Wogan is, in general, very unpopular because on many occasions, even when asked WHERE he was born (he was born in Limerick, Ireland) he said "The UK". That has given Irish people the impression he doesnt want to be Irish, hence why Irish people dislike him. Its got nothing to do with the UK, in general, if he was a French Host, and he said he was born in France, then he'd been equally disliked. But very recently he has come to admit that hes born in Ireland.
Yeah, he doesnt wail about being Irish. Just like over 15% of the total population of the UK has at least one Irish grandparent lol i bet your more irish than i am lol
Terry has joint Irish-British citizenship and owes his wealth to the British, not the Irish. He knows what side his bread is buttered. He's just one of countless Irish people who owe everything to the UK.
RIP Terry Wogan, the udisputed "voice of Eurovision"

+celticlofts That was Nicholas Witchell.
My lovely horse won??? Yey!
Malta gave Sonia no points in 1993 but then award Scooch 12 points in 2006 - thats the true madness of Eurovision!!
I wish he was still with us to do this. Graham norton used up all his bag of tricks in his first year and has been as uninspiring as his fawning chat show ever since. RIP Sir Terry.
Thank you so much. I have been waiting to see this for ages.
"This is the cliffhanger... closest one for years."
"LUXEMBOURG??!!!".
We haven't had a tense moment like this for a long, long time. We need a nail biter for when that final 12 comes in and we have the winner in 2013.

Would you be able to upload the full show with Terry Wogan's commentary?
Floral Dance - 2013 Euro Entry please. TW to sing, Ireland or UK.
1993 was a great year, but a tragic ending.
Yeah, he doesnt wail about being Irish. Just like over 15% of the total population of the UK has at least one Irish grandparent lol i bet your more irish than i am lol
Terry Wogan
@SecretNameL I stand corrected :-)
Terry has joint Irish-British citizenship and owes his wealth to the British, not the Irish. He knows what side his bread is buttered. He's just one of countless Irish people who owe everything to the UK.
Twat
If Malta gave their 10 points to the UK or other countries, Luxembourg should've been last.
they were out of bottom 5, which they could have participated in 1994, but they did not participate, and still not... I miss Luxembourg...
It would have been the bottom 7 however Italy and Luxembourg withdrew making it a bottom 5 relegation.
lulz at spain's reaction. and terry's of course. :L
ya luxemburg! thats how the voting goes nowadays, to there closest neigbours! nothing to do wit the song!!!!
lol 100% true brit? Your deluding yourself.
