Actually, she did kinda see her sing the ending of “Happy Working Song” in the first one when she woke up and saw the animals with Giselle and then she went to wake up her father. That was pretty much the only time she saw Giselle sing, but it was short lived :(
I love how Giselle is still her wholesome self and that Morgan is actually acting like a teenager, but I still miss the sweet little girl who was a complete believer in the Fairy tale world Giselle was from. Having one character who believe don't her made the movie even better. Enchanted was literally my favorite movie when it came out! I literally watched it everyday. I hope this sequel doesn't ruin it and is just as good.
Why they decide for it to be in streaming is beyond me. This should be released in theaters.. Enchanted got 3 Oscar Nominations for original song at the oscars. This could also easily be Amy Adams 7th Oscar Nomination...
I agree that it definitely deserved a theatrical release. However, given how so many streaming movies/shows have been nominated in the last 2 years, I think this one still stands a chance.
I find that a lot of Disney sequels go direct to video. The studio's probably saving more money and there are probably still people who are apprehensive to go outside after everything going on with COVID. Personally, I prefer direct videos instead of making a trip to the theater and with digital advancements I think movie theaters are becoming obsolete.
It is clear that Amy really loves Giselle's character. You can see that she never hesitated to revisit the character that put her on the map. No one else but her can play Giselle in such iconic way.

Well, the original Enchanted appealed to two very different groups of people: those who love the fairytale tropes (the "Giselles" of the world), and those who are more critical of them (the "Roberts" of the world). If you happen to fall into the former category, then I wouldn't be surprised that you enjoyed the sequel, since it leans heavily into those fairytale vibes. However, for those of us who appreciated the first movie's juxtaposition of the fairytale elements with realistic sensibility, Disenchanted was a kind of disappointing because it pretty much became the exact same tropes that Enchanted had been parodying. I actually enjoyed this song the most (even though it's not necessarily my favourite tune), simply because it captured that same "fairytale whimsy contrasted against real-world sensibility" as the first movie. Morgan really fills in her father's role as the cynic reacting to Giselle's whimsical song, and I would've liked to see more of that interplay, instead of the one-sided "live action fairytale" that we got.
15 years later and she played Giselle like it was yesterday. I felt like a little child of 7 again when i was watching the sequel. And can we all agree that she did not age 1 day since the first movie? There are a million actrices and amazing singers, but there is only ONE person who can play Giselle and is even allowed to play Giselle. I don't want a sequel to this movie, but i want a 1,5 movie. Where we get to see her starting in New York right after the first movie. Her trying to settle in etc. She can easily do it because she looks the same.
Unpopular opinion: Giselle is the most underrated Disney princess ever. At least they added her to the Disney princess group. Thank you for including her. Putting that aside, the personality of Giselle reminds me of Anna from Frozen (2013).

Its reality where only the person like her can burst into song with that much of sunshine spirit, and the film tackle with that last "enchanted" thing which tired her out since its not really matching up with people who native to 'real world' dimension. People complaining about why the grown up modern Giselle from the first film is back from the start with all the nonsense singing, but this very thing you notice is the proof of what is next with such 'enchanted' spirit she has - an eventual tiring out and distress. All she needs to do is work up a little bit in her way of thinking, bring down the old 'enchanted' (hence, disenchanted) to a closer to real world version (hence, the song name) Sorry for the text of wall 😂. This film was SO fun, I'm obsessed with the songs and I can't wait to re-watch it. Def one of my favorite films of the year, I don't know why it's getting such mixed reviews, as a sequel I thought it pretty much delivered!
It is a good movie but compare to the first one, it is kinda a letdown tbh. The plot wasn't well written, the animation for Andalasia world is worse than in 2007... and many other issues you can find on the internet. However, I think this sequel was meant to make people feel nostalgic and fulfill their childhood desire of what comes after "ever after". And the return of the original cast to create the magic once more is truly magical and heartwarming.

I could very visibly notice that while Gisele is dancing her waist goes from normal size to very small quite often like they tried to make her look more slender and petite which is incredibly unnecessary
You can just tell Amy had a lot of fun making this. I'm so happy that she returns and still got the charm of a Disney princess

Her voice isn't as light and airy as it was in Enchanted but that's to be expected considering it's been 15 years but it's still beautiful.
