    Dude.... Been learning off your videos for a few months now.. greatly appreciate the work you put in and your eagerness to make everything so understanding while playing.
    You should have way more subscribers, I'm blown away after seeing how low your count is (givin the quality of your content).
    Anyway thanks again and please never stop blessing us with your knowledge and patience for us beginners 🤘😅

      well shux thanks so much for that wonderful sentiment Lone Ghost! That comment will surely make my day, even more so because I know if one person says it, more are thinking it!
      I think I'll have my day :) After all, it takes ten years of hard work to become an overnight success. I founded this channel with these rules, some of which might stymie my world takeover, but I hold close to stay true to myself. And they are...
      1)give deeper cuts equal attention rather than just do the hits to attract more subs. The deeper cuts are important songs too, and they are VERY meaningful to SOMEONE. I'm going to do this for like 30 more years. we'll get to the hits when we do :)
      2)organic growth, no dollars put behind promoting my videos. Think eddie riding in the van rather than the plane. I have an honest to goodness friendship with my audience and I love that. I don't want it to grow TOO fast :) I've watched a few channels start after me and zoom "past" me by some metrics. Having gotten a feel for how youtube "works", I can very confidently conclude they are juicing with promotion dollars. Which, I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, it just feels kind of cheap to me at this stage. I'd love to see my channel grow on merit alone. I may change my mind about that one someday, but for now it stands :)
      3)hard work ALWAYS pays off, though you can't usually predict exactly how. I've never seen that rule disproven.
      Most of all, thank you for being here Lone Ghost, and pardon my soap box :)

      @@RyanLendt hey man sorry for the late response, but I agree with your views and your versitality of skill (ie: singing, other instruments, theory etc.) will prove to show success. I mean it only makes sense right ??!! Either way I can speak for myself but despite the hard work and genuine effort you put into all that you do, I am jealous of your skill and 'job' as a awesome teacher/TH-camr/lifesaver 🤘😅

    Nice song, a couple xtra things. When u use your thumb for the 2nd fret on main riff then move to 3rd fret and release high e instead of having to change to a g chord. And the main outro bit release hammer the b string during the A chord strumming, Hammer release 3rd fret high e string during the D chord strumming.

    Finally made the clipboard!
    I still can't decide if he uses an A or an A7, both ways sound great. I've seen them slide down from a B3 to 2 in the verses (when playing the whatever A he uses) Either way sounds great though. I play it both ways depending on how I feel that day.
    Congratulations on your channelversary!

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      *smacks forehead* it's A7 but I didn't realize it until your comment put that bug in my ear and then suddenly I could hear it. As the 5 position in the key of D they are interchangeable... but AIC clearly uses the A7 - great spot Pat!

    • @patprime7320
      @patprime7320 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan Lendt In the verses I think the Amaj sounds nice and less jarring but in the outro (?) When switch from D to A7 it sounds so much better than the major.

    • @PiotrBuczek
      @PiotrBuczek ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that the arpeggio is also different and simpler, goes up to D and not down to B at the end. That's what I saw in some other lesson and then checked Jar of Flies to double check after this one. Both sound good but I hear the simpler progression BGD-EBGD on the album.
      Or am I hallucinating?

    I was just re-re-re-watching this... dunno if anyone answered this... but I always though they down tuned for the same reason as Nirvana (Kurt sings flat)... dunno if it'd be Jerry or Layne, but thats what I always assumed. I know Billie Joe (Green Day) admitted to tuning to his flat singing...

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My only issue with that logic is one sings flat relative the pitch one is trying to hit, so no matter where you tuned you'd still sing flat. It is so much easier to sing a half step down to be sure, and guitars are easier to play as well. I for one enjoy that tuning tons.

    Pretty sure it’s an A7 chord, not an A. And where is the hammer-on for the F#? Or the Variations on the D chord (with sus2 and sus4) in the strummed part?

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you're right it's definitely an A7

    So, I voted for the harmonica solo. It's beens years since I've heard this song. But, I think it mostly mirrors the lyrics in some parts. Either way how about a solo for the lyrics , like the finger style guys do? Sorry, in advance for the long vid. You did bring it up, lol.

    Question on the D/F# you said play low E, B, G, D then high E, B, G, D. But it appears you play B instead of D on that last note. I’ve watched it several times. Straighten me out! Thanks Ed

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No Clue Ed - maybe I said the wrong thing or did the wrong thing, or maybe my muscle memory kicked in since that thing you said I did is more along the lines of what I usually do - it's an arpeggio, the most important thing is that you arpeggiate :)
