    We’ve been a one car family for over 5 years and it is totally worth it. We have had only 3-4 instances where we had to get real creative to manage being in two places at once.

    That is sooo true. 9:39 I had a TON (probably actual ton) of fabric and knitting supplies accumulated since my teens. I do see how I didn't like to sew (my fav) anymore, too many options, too many backups -just in case, too many everything. Once I got rid of boxes and totes and tubs and large garbage bags of stuff that I could never use in my lifetime, I felt so much peace and have been able to do several projects!! Enjoyed your video!!

    • @TheSimplicitySisters
      @TheSimplicitySisters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's awesome that you were able to get back to a "zen" crafting place Bella! I think the overwhelm of the supplies was probably one of the reasons I moved away from physical crafts (like crocheting and sewing) into more digital creativity like blogging and vlogging. I have definitely felt the burden of the supplies steal my creativity in the past too but I never really thought about it like that until Caroline shared this! -Leah

    That happened to me with scrapbooking. My mom started buying me all kinds of stuff and I allowed it to get completely out of control. Now I hate scrapbooking because I view it as supper messy and not fun anymore.

    We are also minimizing our family’s second car on Friday and giving it to my stepson- I could only do this after many many months of decluttering with @TheMinimalMom ! It feels good! What a relief.

    Caroline, I hope that you take into account that your art is therapy and may help you cope with your very busy mom-life. If what you were doing before is "too much" for right now, look for a way to incorporate a "just right" amount in your day. I just watched a video by Emma Lefevre who is a watercolor artist with a TH-cam channel where she talks about the importance of her art to her mental health. I know this is an easier said than done thing and I need to take my own advice. I need to take time for my own creative activities. Enjoyed your video! Thank you!

      Thank you so much, Rosemary, good point! Yes, I do still do art but usually it’s with the kids now, and it does look different. That’s okay! And I have so many creative loves that it’s hard to have time for all of them! I still have that great American novel I’m planning 😉

    I had several broken pyrex lids but I use them all the time so I went online (mostly Amazon) and they have replacement lids. I bought several and matched the color to my kitchen which was fun. The only tricky thing was making sure it was a pyrex dish as I had a few very similar Anchor Hocking which seem to be the same size but fit the lids differently. Anyway, if you'd like to keep the pyrex, that is one way to do it. (but if you don't need it, someone can buy it at the thrift store and still get a lid, haha :) )

    You are right about ART supplies. I scrapbook and don't have as much as others...I make basic pages - meaning Pictures and Journaling is the most important part of Scrapbooking

    • @TheSimplicitySisters
      @TheSimplicitySisters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s hard to keep it under wraps but if you are actually doing the scrapbooking what a great hobby! I know a lot of people who just collect the supplies and I was one of them for awhile! So many fun stickers!

      @@TheSimplicitySisters , specifically Caroline, in which of Dana's book does she talk about the hobby supplies? That really resonates with me too -- and I like the way you talk about art journaling..sounds like a potentially doable form for me at some point too :) Thanks for a *motivating* video!

      Karen, I have a question. I don't scrapbook, but have just decluttered photos (17 albums and many boxes into 3 albums) and am having trouble with photos sliding out of album pages. Any suggestions that are archival/photo safe and will still allow me to re-arrange if I need to?

    • @TheSimplicitySisters
      @TheSimplicitySisters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Saforra99 this is Leah but Caroline said she isn’t totally sure which one because she read them back to back: either decluttering at the speed of life or how to declutter your life without losing your mind...I will try to figure out which one. Now I can’t remember which one I read and I would like to read the other!

      So funny...it’s actually an Alexapure because I got a crazy good deal on it and then I replaced it with Berkey Filters! Either way you are right and I love love love the water!

    • @SnowySpiritRuby
      @SnowySpiritRuby 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheSimplicitySisters For some reason, where I live, they put a ton of chlorine in the water, and even more so in the winter, so I have to put it through the filter in order to drink it, otherwise it's like drinking pool water. I use the sport bottle on trips, and my mom couldn't believe the difference it made in the water taste at one of the places we stayed - apparently, the water there was so bad that even with just one swig she almost spit it out, but when put through my water bottle it tasted perfectly fine.
