    To be fair while LYJ is very humble Harimoto is not "arrogant." He is always very shy during interviews and press conferences, and very very apologetic and honest about net/edge balls.

    Kid Harimoto vs. Kid Lin was so cute. I never would have imagined that these players have had encountered each other since they were that young! I noticed when Lin Yunju was playing Sun Wen in the Japan Open semifinal, both Harimoto and Ma Long (and many Chinese National coaches) were watching that game. Lin Yunju has a lot of new fans lately, I am one too. I really want to emulate his style and technique.

    The biggest reason is his foundation and habits are well formed at such a young age. This allows you to only improve, not have to worry about making adjustments to your game because of a certain style or opponent. Lin has perfect technique, he hits the ball harder and off the bounce than most players, even the Chinese, and it is effortless

  • @jasonjason759

    Of all the points you’ve compared between these two youngsters, I agree with you 100%. Both are good kids, quiet and shy in person, but Harimoto has been trained and (I am sorry to say) poisoned by both of his parents’ attitude. The kid does not convey a heathy mentality as a self-confident athlete. His extravagant screaming reveals his mental weakness ingrained by his parents.

    • @canicetang8837
      @canicetang8837 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I noticed that it is up to the individual players plus the upbringing. Quite a few of the young players like to 'Cho' when they win the point. But some choose not to. There is no right or wrong way of saying this. But it is all up to the players themselves, even though I preferred the 'silent but deadly' type.

    • @david0ade
      @david0ade 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're both in the extreme Yin and Yang, I would prefer someone who is balanced, not too quiet and not too loud, if you're too quiet like Yunju then it's just dull, it feels like he's dead inside, too cold and emotionless like a robot. Yes Harimoto's scream is annoying but this is a sport that promotes diversity, I remember when Zhang Zike screamed or did inappropriate stuff after he won, that also made him an unlikeable person and was being called cocky but after a while people got over it. Yes Yunju is very "Zen-like" and has a very likeable character but other than that they're both very equally talented. Even though right now Yunju's technique look sophisticated and more advanced than Harimoto's technique, doesn't mean it's superior as Harimoto's technique is very simplified, straight to the point, practical, effective and if he can master it, it should be equally as good.

    You are very spot on. Still, with the development at the present. Wang Chuqin is the best right now but he is a bit older. Lin is a close second with a ton of room for development potential. Tomo, on the other hand, really need to work on his footwork, much weaker forehand, less exaggeration on his follow through, game plan management, plus mental focus. That in itself, should be done much earlier in his career because it might be too late to change.

    I like him better than Harimoto too. Smooth, fluid and super focused. He'll be one of the best for the next decade or so. However, I think at the moment Wang Chuqin is better, as he's physically stronger and has a super quick backhand. But Lin's technique and mindset is probably the best of the three. He just needs a little more power. Sky-high ceiling.

    Both great players. I personally prefer Harimoto. I know some people think he’s too vocal when he plays, but it’s his way of being positive and fighting for points. If someone was that loud at amateur level it would be annoying, but Harimoto is a professional level player and he has to do what works for him.

    • @canicetang8837
      @canicetang8837 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The new ITTF ball, which is bigger, rougher, harder in materials (ABS), slower and much bouncier. It really suits Tomo's game as a poacher. Just think of his style as a male adaptation to the modern female game as compared to the traditional loop-to-loop game. This is where Tomo had the edge early on when others have to adapt a hybrid style to counter him.
      The game is a bit closer to the table now. Lots of variations of chop block and quick reflex returns off hard hitting loops. Also there are lots of subtlety in the short returning game with placements at the utmost importance. Instead of lulling players with the backhand to backhand exchanges. Now, a lot of players will mixed in various directions, using half spin loops, hitting to the body or behind the opponent (on top of finding any open spaces).
      More than ever, stealing points on your opponent's serves will be the key to winning. The higher bounce, less spiny ball means you have to be ready of more balls returning than you expected. So quicker football, short follow through, and especially transitional shot preparation becomes crucial.

Presently, I see WC as the next world champ candidate followed closely by LY. Harimoto is always on the edge of not being a good sportsman since his behavior is too destructive for his opponents.

    张本智和打球近台多 反手不太进攻、林什么的打球太稳也是近台球战术性高、孙闻许昕的球好看 长球对拉

    A very humble player Yes, Lin Yun Ju is the best model of all players. Harimoto is arrogant and keep shouting during games as part of his strategy to demoralize opponents on which the ITTF rules to be changed
