If you fished the Delta or have ever pulled a 10+ out of thick matted grass you'd realize that 70 is needed. I can get away with 50lb for the most part but 90% of the time I throw 65lb braid. The grass on the Delta is THICK.
80% of the comments " WHY IS HE USING ANYTHING ABOVE 2 LB FLURO ? I COULD GET AWAY WITH THAT AT MY LAKE..." (congrats by the way if your that guy do you really have to pat yourself on the back on youtube) 10% of comments explaining why you need heavy braid (no point guys the others don't understand ) 10% of the comments complementing them on their fishing prowess (smart fishermen)
The reason they suggest braid is because braided line is much stronger than mono. It allows them to pull the bass out of super thick vegetation without having to worry about the line snapping, and 75 lb braid is about the same diameter as 15 lb mono so they can still cast it a mile.
If you try and throw 10 pound test in grass and lilly pads, its gonna break off if the fish wraps around something. The braid slices through the grass and pads, and its alot tougher.
ish I think your right when it comes to hook up ratios and bending the hooks but my think with bending the hooks it creates that weak spot in the medal t owear it slowly becomes to weaken fish after fish and so that why I strictly use evolve walker frog the colors are nice detail is nice but I love the softness of the frog and ish your my hero of frog fishen I listen to all your tips and they seem to help me a lot its my dream to become a pro just like you
Here's one not so fun: earning a million over a career doesn't make you a millionaire. I made my comment because I think people's perception is that professional bass fisherman are all wealthy. Not because I was dogging Monroe. I know he wishes he had 1.53mil in the bank.
Turd Cutter would you rather be a millionaire or fish for a living. I would rather fish for a living and have my equipment paid for. I bet he has a million dollars in equipment available to him at all times
Yeah, but as you can tell these guys love a fight, which is why the tighten their drag to the max when catching a few pound fish and reeling like mad.....
in respons to matt. these are hard mouth fish and they would throw barbless hooks on the strike. and wont get belly hooked so the barbs wont hurt them these are tournemnt anglrs who get penelised for a dead fish and would not harm them. all though I do see a lot of pros putting to much pressure on the jaw henge when holding bass. its not good to hold them there mouths wide open putting all there weight on the jaw henges
The biggest bass ever recorded was found in California, and there has been numerous fish caught in Cali that have been well over 18 pounds. If you want to catch a 15 pound bass, my suggestion is to go to California. Florida would be my second suggestion.
its not about how big the fish are its about the fact that with the hard hooksets on a frog you dont want the braid to dig in on itself on the reel, learn what your talking about before you try to tell pros what they are doing there big guy
what makes Ish such a good Pro fisherman is his ability to promote his sponsor's products. #BEAST
Jared is using the Jackall Iobee Frog and Ish is using the Daiwa Steez 8' Hvy Compile-X Flipping Rod - 2pc
Depends on water clarity and natural forage in the lake, but in general the Smokey Shad for clear water conditions and Sexy Shad for stained.

lovin the awkward dialogue and name drops. "poppin phattie" "iobi"
I made all my frogs barb-less for that exact reason. They absolutely crush those frogs
Jared Lintner has gotten way better sponsor this year with G-Loomis and shimano.

"Didn't catch any giants but you caught that 7 pounder"

Jodi Lee dude bending the hook out a tiny bit has no effect on the structure of the metal and doesn’t create a weak spot
Ish is thinkin "I'm already a millionaire". Lol
Not even close to being a millionaire.
Turd Cutter Fun little fact: Ish Monroe's career earning as of 9/4/2014 is $1.53 million.

Turd Cutter Tournament earnings is not the only source of income for a pro angler...

Just ordered some phattie frogs after watching this. Nice.

Yeah, but as you can tell these guys love a fight, which is why the tighten their drag to the max when catching a few pound fish and reeling like mad.....
They're fishing a fish farm that's why they're catching so much fish
in respons to matt. these are hard mouth fish and they would throw barbless hooks on the strike. and wont get belly hooked so the barbs wont hurt them these are tournemnt anglrs who get penelised for a dead fish and would not harm them. all though I do see a lot of pros putting to much pressure on the jaw henge when holding bass. its not good to hold them there mouths wide open putting all there weight on the jaw henges
Awesome.
6:40 75 lbs braid? u could reel a whale up with 75lbs, i used at most 10 lbs test at most, whats the reasoning behind using 75lbs test
die101 to haul them through the deep vegetation as fast as possible
Its actually Jackall :P
7:40 oh man that blowup
Snag proof and Jackall :P
It wood be A Dream come true to fish With you
there 12.99 that more then kopper
I want to try some soft frogs you walk.
snag proof
but his frog works!
Sweet 'stache.
better to bend the barbs down than kill the fish.
Those fish aren't nothing compared to what we have in the south.

70 lb test don't you think that's fricken over kill
70 is a bit overkill but they could probably get away with 40.
+Jordan Blomgren or 20 😂
Good luck pulling a fish out of the grass on the delta with 20 or 40 pound
40lbs fine, re-tie even when there's little fray
The delta is the jungle
snag prof
