    If you fished the Delta or have ever pulled a 10+ out of thick matted grass you'd realize that 70 is needed. I can get away with 50lb for the most part but 90% of the time I throw 65lb braid.
    The grass on the Delta is THICK.

    Depends on water clarity and natural forage in the lake, but in general the Smokey Shad for clear water conditions and Sexy Shad for stained.

  • @jacobsmolik1

    The reason they suggest braid is because braided line is much stronger than mono. It allows them to pull the bass out of super thick vegetation without having to worry about the line snapping, and 75 lb braid is about the same diameter as 15 lb mono so they can still cast it a mile.

      Turd Cutter Fun little fact: Ish Monroe's career earning as of 9/4/2014 is $1.53 million.

    • @captainobvious3317
      @captainobvious3317 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here's one not so fun: earning a million over a career doesn't make you a millionaire. I made my comment because I think people's perception is that professional bass fisherman are all wealthy. Not because I was dogging Monroe. I know he wishes he had 1.53mil in the bank.

    Oakley ca nice striped bass out here!

  • @bassnbows
    @bassnbows 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you try and throw 10 pound test in grass and lilly pads, its gonna break off if the fish wraps around something. The braid slices through the grass and pads, and its alot tougher.

    ish I think your right when it comes to hook up ratios and bending the hooks but my think with bending the hooks it creates that weak spot in the medal t owear it slowly becomes to weaken fish after fish and so that why I strictly use evolve walker frog the colors are nice detail is nice but I love the softness of the frog and ish your my hero of frog fishen I listen to all your tips and they seem to help me a lot its my dream to become a pro just like you

    • @TrumpsEarBandage
      @TrumpsEarBandage 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jodi Lee dude bending the hook out a tiny bit has no effect on the structure of the metal and doesn’t create a weak spot

    in respons to matt. these are hard mouth fish and they would throw barbless hooks on the strike. and wont get belly hooked so the barbs wont hurt them these are tournemnt anglrs who get penelised for a dead fish and would not harm them. all though I do see a lot of pros putting to much pressure on the jaw henge when holding bass. its not good to hold them there mouths wide open putting all there weight on the jaw henges

      The biggest bass ever recorded was found in California, and there has been numerous fish caught in Cali that have been well over 18 pounds. If you want to catch a 15 pound bass, my suggestion is to go to California. Florida would be my second suggestion.

    • @iJordanB26

    its not about how big the fish are its about the fact that with the hard hooksets on a frog you dont want the braid to dig in on itself on the reel, learn what your talking about before you try to tell pros what they are doing there big guy
