If u csnt slip and punch, slip slip roll smoothly, punch in the context of where you are without returning to center, or pivot. How can we really say this is a Sim game. These are boxing 101 mechanics.

Agreed. That's one thing I loved about the weave system in Fight Night - range of motion and being able to stay in any particular slot for as long as you decided (and being able to punch from those slots).

Preach! This is absolutely what is needed. Depth of options, interwoven offense/defense, punching during weave/off-center head position.
A truly great player should be nearly un-hittable against a bad player. Too often we have 40%-50% landing % and it’s because defensive options aren’t there

Thanks for making this video. Very well done. What saddens me is, some of the improvements like punching while slipping, and level changing, I think were mentioned before, but the developers completely ignored the feedback. That’s why I am very worried when I heard they’re not going to be updating the game much more from now until release. There are so many gameplay improvements that must be made that are just so basic and fundamental. But it seems like they’ve already moved away from improving the punching mechanics and are focusing on other areas.
Facts, they are focusing on the wrong areas. Look the Punches Animations, its Like they Never Touch it, its Look so Bad.

I for sure want a pivot. We have em in Bloody Knuckles and even UFC 5 has that major lounge / big shift that acts like a pivot.. It's very helpful getting out of danger and changing angles.
Yea I think if they can pull it off by all means. I was disappointed with the Loma release while not being able to take a 45 degree angle shift as he does in real life. Without that we didn’t truly have the essence of Loma. We ultimately got a free skin. The character looks cool but it ultimately didn’t change the way he played from anyone else mostly 🤷🏽♂️

Ways to counter a jab
1. Slip outside then right hand
2. Slip inside then lead uppercut
3. Jab to the body while moving ur head to the right and bending down at the waist
4. Right hand over the top of the jab
5. Step back counter
6. Lean back then right hand
What if He threws a straight or hook after that and bc there is no punch reaction ur counter wont be worth at all but even it would be to ur opponent advantage
@@pciermakaveli9280 I mean any counter landed with perfect timing will affect anyone. Either it rocks them, drops them or disrupts their rhythm. For example Floyd didn’t hit hard at 147 and above but when he fought Canelo at 152lbs, the counters over canelo’s jab which disrupted his rhythm and movement made it so he couldn’t throw any “hooks or straights” back

If you put too much power on counters, people would just exploit that mechanic toward punches with large counter windows, the same way they do body uppercuts now. They would either spam the backstep straight, diagonal dodge hook, or sidestep directional punches. Some wouldn't even throw a punch until the opponent does.
That’s where things like proper space manipulation and throw away shots will come into play and that’s only 2 strategies that can be done to counter those things. And both of those can be done in the current version of the game. The fact that we are even discussing this though only proves how more depth can branch out potential strategies in the gameplay 💪🏽

Not real sure but I wouldn’t say it’s unlikely. The unfortunate problem is that fighter announcements will only go so far at this point. They have to truly feel different.

First of all, Welcome back Coach & Great Video!!! You actually said everything whats wrong with this game. As a boxer, it's no fun to watch the game. There is no good Head Movement, dont let me start with the robotic punches Animations. This Game is far from a authentic boxing Game. I just want realistic punches Animations.
Me too man. A boxer naturally has an analytical mind. This game right now just doesn’t scratch that itch 😅
To add to this, I would say a multi layer damage System would work well with all of these changes. So if my opponent reacts to my feint and I CATCH THEM This should add more damage to my shot, counter punches should be more devastating, vulnerability so when you lean or move straight into my punch that should be more devastating than a punch you get hit with while blocking
It’s possible. Some of this is already there. Directional punching or maneuvering into a punch can garner a flash. Although it’s there it’s not consistent unfortunately 😅
It would be cool if the game had two choice for gameplay style mechanics: One simulation mode; and one arcade mode.
Simulation would allow you to have full range control over the body, arms and legs. While Arcade mode would be more AI and simplified, a bit like the way characters move in the old classic Mortal Kombat where it's super fast and you can move in and out of range quickly.
The tech for something like that is out there. I’m not sure how they could do this while utilizing the current Unity engine they are on right now.

I have pretty good open lines of communication with the team and have sent these directly to them with additional critiques. They have always been pretty open about accepting any and all criticism. Now whether they implement any of this; that’s a different story that I don’t have any control over 😅
I think what all this proves is that it’s very hard to make a good boxing game and it’s probably why very few has attempted in.
I can agree with that 100% that’s why I applaud just about any company for “genuinely” taking on the task of doing so.

Na I don’t. They said in the Unity presentation a while back that adding new animations really wasn’t a difficult thing. I think they have the assets to do just about anything. I think they just need to take the proper time to do it.

This game for me has a bigger potential than fnc
the 50/50 shot is a huge problem in the game and interwoven defense offense is a huge problem as well. a parry would be amazing but that goes back into that interwoven talk..... the skill gap that we all want will happen in undisputed 2 lol. WE NEED FLAT FOOT !!! man i dont even want to type the R word. those smooth animations feel like 1 or 2 years of dev time my guestimation.

the game needs Vulnerability, online server fixed ( desync, input lag) new animations (especially UPPERCUTS !!) they do these three things and they on the correct path.
You cannot really counter the jab, u can circle to the right with someone who jabs a lot tho.

Glad to see you back bro but respectfully I disagree because no one ever said the game was going to be completely perfect no game ever is and the fact is if we try to satisfy everyone then the game would never come out PC players like yourself jmma and King juice have all had the privilege of playing this game and while it might have flaws it still has features and things that Fight Night Never Had remember when we all thought that fight night was going to be the last thing that we would ever play in regards to a boxing game do you really want to go back to that time I don't think anyone does I'm just happy that it exists and that it's finally going to be released to consoles because of the fact that there hasn't been one for a long time as we all know besides how many games get updated and added to these days post lunch it's the culture of modern gaming and again satisfying everyone and every need in any game is impossible and another piece of my point of view is that is the pillars of the community like yourself and others heavily criticized the release of this game then that lessens the chance for a second one where we could see more substantial improvements toward the game that you would want to see so we need to support this in order to show that we appreciate the work that they have done over the past 4 years so did the game could even exist and then that will give them the resources and the motivation to build upon in already solid foundation respectfully that's my opinion
I will reserve my comment to this after you get it on console. Hopefully by then some of the things I asked for here have been implemented. But I will leave a thumbs up on the comment simply because you watched the video🫡
I get so mad when i think about the Things they can add Into this Game. It aint about Skills in this Game. this Game Looks so beautiful with the footworksystem but thats it. I dont get it, they mocap the footworksystem, Why they cant do it on Things like dogging or headmovement? Even the Punches Animations on ufc undisputed 3 Looks better & its a ps3 Game.
Some things in the game look great. But it has to feel great also and unfortunately they haven’t nailed that part yet.

100% we could be looking at a bug missed opportunity by Steel City and Undisputed here if they don't get it right. Balancing will come but they got to get the core boxing mechanics right that gives the opportunity for the great to seperate themselves from the good.
Thought you laid it out real well and we just got to see where they take it because it's going to be jacked feeling while playing with Usyk as you highlighted like, "dang if I could throw while slipping like Usyk that sequence would be been different." We don't need that.
They got Saudi money behind them. There's no excuse not to get it right. I think they won't to, but the question is can and will they? Good ish Coach 🫡
