I’m in uk. Do you get UX F Sport Design over there? Afaik it’s one up from base model? 4wd and F Sport performance or premium plus trims are out with my price range. F Sport Design is my only option.
The screen on the takumi version is sooo good, I’ll wait a couple years and get one for half the price when people return their pcp cars lol. Lexus depreciation from new is insane so it’s always a bargain to get a used 2-3 year old Lexus 😂 I might even get a 2021 version and retrofit the new touchscreen, will have to get in touch with the dealer to see if it’s possible
Many thanks, Dan. Yes, the toughsreen infotainment is a game changer for this car! My wife is 5 ft 5 in, so there are no headroom issue and enough room in the back seat (28 in overall with 10 in leg room for short journeys with the grandkids. The base Premium trim is good enough for us re a round town run about. Nicer if it had rear parking senors, but they can be added aftermarket for about $600. Being a 40 mpg hybrid that uses regular gas it a great purchase in the subcompact luxury market at say $42,000 list with non-black paint. The German cars are more powerful, but , if you donèt need the power, similarly equipped they are $5,000+ more expensive, less reliable and rather more expensive on gas.
Right on, Michael! You get it, that's for sure! The UX may not be for everyone, but plenty of people out there can get more than they need and then some from it!
@@danilika9420 Thanks, Dan. Yes, the Luxury version for $4,700 more is also a great option for someone that needs even more luxury including to 10 speaker sound system and the frontérear parking assist, but they are not "necessaries" for us.
Dan, Happy New Year to you and Team Auto Trader Canada, 'Infotainment' was upgraded for 2023 but the 2.0 181 hp drivetrain remains the same. Can you explain why Toyota/Lexus gave a more powerful and more efficient 2.0 196 hp Hybrid system to the 2023 Prius but let the weaker powertrain carry over in the Premium brand UX? We will have to agree to disagree on the whole 'learning to slouch' thing. Just how Lexus managed to provide so little interior space on a luxury model that shares its platform/wheelbase with the Corolla Cross is as inexplicable as it is unacceptable. 🤨
@@danilika9420 The European TH-camrs have been driving the Cross with the new 2.0 Hybrid for a couple of months so we already know it is an improvement over the 169 hp Corolla engine. I will still put it on the record that the 2.5 Hybrid would have been even better for efficiency and power. BTW being "surprisingly excited" about the Hybrid Cross is a sure sign of rapidly approaching middle age 😉
I'm used to the track pad, plus I feel that the touch screen is distracting. But I'm not twisted up over it. True, it was annoying...for 3 or 4 minutes till I figured it out. Then again, my media is my lowest priority in a car. So, I could give a rat's tail about media interface.
I ordered for my wife for 2023 UX 250 H luxury package . Total price is close to CAD 54K . I am based in Toronto. Look forward to driving this little car!🎉🎉
Can the seat move down to create more headroom? It took me about a year to realize I could solve my problem with the center console of my Tesla M3 being too high, by raising my seat level. Seems obvious in hindsight, but I just kind of forgot about the ability to raise or lower the seat.
Unfortunately, the seat was as low as it would go during this test. It’s an issue I struggle with a lot in the vehicles I review each week, but that’s why I’m always sure to mention it! Cheers!
I'm so glad they got rid of the stupid track pad
Amen to that!
Have a 2021 ux and just ordered/traded in my 21 for a a 2024 uxh premium, soo happy the track pad is gone 🎉
Congrats! You’re going to love the new setup!
Hi Dan! Great review! I'm sold...like the way you broke it all down. I am 6ft tall. would I be pretty comfortable in this car?

Same to you! And I’d except that powertrain in the next UX, but it’s probably too complex and expensive to integrate into the current product.
@@danilika9420 For what it's worth, I was just reminded the Corolla Cross Hybrid also gets the more powerful version of the 2.0.

She's going to love it!
Those are really nice features. But, my 2018 Crosstrek has consumed 7/100km, for half the price of this car. Too expensive for a small car.
Are you serious? Half the price? Did you buy it used? Exaggerating a bit? Or truly about $24,000 USD for a brand new Subaru?

nice to have a Lexus for little people, too
I cannot believe people were fighting you on that dumb touch pad lol
It's one of those head-scratchers that I'll never quite understand, that's for sure!
typical Lexus has no headroom
