    That’s a lovely looking car in a superb colour…and the second biggest clock I’ve personally ever seen in a car!

      Mr Coleman prides himself on having a fleet of cars in excellent condition, and this 940 certainly lives up to that.

      Mr Coleman has indeed done really well with this, and it is only going to get better in his capable hands too! Thank you again for watching, sir.

    My uncle had a white 940. It was a lovely to ride in, alas I never got to drive it.

      Sir, we like these old red block engined Volvos, don't we?

    That is lovely, the colour is perfect and those wheels suit it down to the ground.

    Excellent review, Mr Lloyd, such incredible condition for its age, Mr Coleman is a lucky man and is right to have in concourse condition when he's finished the remaining things to attend too.

      Not really much to do, sir, but Mr Coleman will doubtless get all those things fixed to a high standard. Thank you ever so much indeed once again for watching!

    Very Sensible Sir, Great looking & excellent specification 940, in a great Volvo colour & proper black bumpers. Mr Coleman will do this car proud. Nostalgic, as father in law was a Volvo man, his last 2 been 940’s, always poverty spec, 1992 940 S 2 litre saloon & his last car, 1996 940 Torslanda 2.3 LPT estate, always smooth to drive if a little wallowing.

      If you change the suspension, it can mitigate the body roll a bit, but it is part of the character of these older red block engined Volvos, isn't it? A very nice special edition, as you say, and nostalgic for so many of us!

      Mr Coleman does not really skimp on engine bay preparation, sir!

    Cleary a solidly made car, with excellent bodywork. It would appeal to me for its DIY friendly construction but I prefer maintenance free, chain driven , cam. As you say, the belt change on this one is not difficult. A good review, thank you,

      @lloydvehicleconsulting  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It's one of the easiest cambelt changes ever, from what I understand. Very, very nice condition, Mr Coleman hopes to improve it still further.

      I've done it twice this year for a friend and for myself. I didn't hurry those jobs but under pressure I can do it as an autodidact diy-er in under half an hour, especially if there's no old type fin. Valve adjustment with the right tool even less. Clutch plate replacement on my driveway one nice summer day. The list goes on and on, it's so easy because of simple, clever engineering and loads of space. The job that made me curse like a Viking sailor however was replacing the inboard, under the dashboard heater tap, but besides that (and bodywork in general) I can't think of anything that scares me or puts me off. The only problem I needed to hand over to a garage was a sensor/diagnostics electronic problem which came down to my lack of experience in that field. Plus practically all the parts are cheap and available (except certain plastic/interior/outer trim parts).

    Great review as usual Sir, it was only a matter of time before the over engineering became a collectable thing to have. Mr.Coleman must be best pleased ..

      Mr Coleman does seem very happy with his new car, I must say. It will be appearing at various shows soon, no doubt!

    Great to see another Volvo on the channel. The wentworth was such a strange badging technique, it could either be a watered down GLE with a 2.0 instead of 2.3 or an SE (like mine) with a turbo and a few extra options. It must’ve been something to do with tax because of the smaller engine. A high spec wentworth would’ve been the same sort of money as a GLE, the only difference being engine sizes. In some countries like Italy you could only have the 2.0 engine because the 2.3 didn’t fit in with their tax regulations

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, from what I understand, they had an excess of the 2.0 Turbo engines, which were mainly used in markets like Italy ,where cars were taxed on engine size, and so they decided to start selling them over here. My preference would have been the GLE, as I think you could get a leather interior with them, but this is still very nice indeed.
