I believe the new one sounds so much better because the speakers are on the back of the piano, whereas on the old one the speakers are downward facing (and muffled by your table).
The line-outs have the best sound quality, and the only means by which to get your money's worth out of the piano as far as sound. Built-in speakers will be extremely shoddy if you aren't dropping $10k or so on a top-notch Yamaha Clavinova.
This is a nice update, but what I am really excited about is the new Yamaha FGDP-50 finger drum pad. From what I've heard online so far, I WOOT! ❤
Better speakers and more compact, but action and main piano tone generator almost the same. Good update overall.
Brilliantly entertaining review as always Jack - P145 speaker sound is definitely a big improvement. It will be my 88 key recommendation for students. Cheers Declan
when yamaha rolls around with the FGDP-30 and 50, would you please have them show more of the 30. the demo's so far focus on the 50, and ignore the 30. it'd be really interesting to see more of how the 30 functions without the screen, which for me would be a benefit. thanks andertons, love the channel.
Great review thx
Was waiting for the video
when I heard pipe organs I decided to buy this piano. I had trouble choosing which to buy P-145 B or Casio. Now I know. Thanks.
Kool and the Gang, Celebration. I thought I was going to loose it if I couldn’t figure out what that riff was from. My mind kept going “whoo hoo”.
When you listen on good speakers, these are decent sounds for any beginning keyboard player. Or someone who needs a portable gigging keyboard instrument. Not the greatest choice available, but ok. All the basics are there.
Hello, planning to buy this week on your website, Do you have a discount coupon or a black friday sale for it please? Thanks ahead!
Researching digital pianos for a first time buyer myself so want a good starter model that will last and not leave me wanting to upgrade after a short time
Dang that intro is tough 0:00
Lots of people waiting for the update to the P515...
hi wander if you can help me i'm looking to make music i cant play guitars im epileptic my brain is damaged i can get around a piano so im looking for something to create drums and some synth and then need to be able to put it in to my daw mixcraft was looking for like piano mix or something like native instruments but will connect to computer i've tried loops but you cant break them up i create my music first with the song so i need to create songs from my head
I’ve always wanted the P-45
Same here, though as long as you can find the P145 at around the same price, then I'd say that the slight upgrades compared to the P45 are pretty worth it 👌
I have P-45 and I would like to by piano stand that fits to it. Do you think L100b which is stand for P-145 would fit also to P-45?
Hi all please suggest, I am getting a second hand p45 on Facebook marketplace for $520, but new p145 is for $650. Should I buy new or go for p45?
Yamaha p145 or Roland fp10??
Why don’t they put headphone jacks on the front? That would make more sense.
Clearly the speakers are at the back to reflect off a wall.
Is it possible to overwrite the default sound settings on the P145 without using the Smart Pianist so that it loads the configuration every time I turn the piano on?
Muy buena pregunta, lamentablemente no se si se pueda hacer, porque hasta donde yo sé, el piano por si solo borra todas las configuraciones y solo se que mantiene la afinación en Hz
All about that pipe organ. I know what I'm getting haha
Isn’t there a pedal that comes along with it?
Okay this is the one I will buy to my wife
Thank you 👍
Yamaha p145 or casio cdp s110??
I kinda like the old sound better. Maybe I'm biased. :)
Can you us this with Synthesia, Cubase and Piano vision? And are the keys same size as a acoustic piano?
Yes (it's compatible with MIDI) and is does have the same size in the keys
thanks@@flpgus
I would still go with a Roland FP-10.
Why so?
@@jenesaisvraimentpasquoimet8473 better Action and better sound.
I bought my Yamaha P-115 a couple of years ago and I want to do an upgrade, can somebody help me to decide if is it worth to bought this P-145 or should I stay with the same P-115 please
Yo creo que no valdría la pena, el sonido es el mismo, y algunas funciones no los tiene el P145, aunque si tiene interfaz de audio por usb y creo que el P115 no
Why is P145 not available in USA? I'm looking to buy a beginner keyboard to start learning piano. I don't want to buy a P45 if something better is going to be coming out soon. I might just go with Roland for now.
Regarding Yamaha website, P-125 was 192 polyphony, P-145 is 64...10 voices versus 24 on the P-125...No mention about half pedal on specs page...stil CFIII sample...I'm not expert but I can see the overall improvement.
This is the successor for P45. Successor for P125 is P225
Ok, thanks for the quote. @@cirisirpula152
And what about Montage M? Feed us some news guys!
Someone said it will be in october
So why can't I find it in america???
A basic screenless digital piano without a jazz organ sound is just incomplete for me
P515 is the one I want to see updated.
What is that song he plays in 1:55?
Did u ever find it?
Same good piano, a bit better, that’s Yamaha!
The organs only sound different bc you were down an octave
Song at 1:42 ?
So the P45 is now redundant?
fot the speaker comparision.
the p45 has its speakers on the bottom, and the desk blocks them. both should be on a proper stand.
if your piano is at the wall, the bottom speakers could be better.
Yo he probado los dos. El P45 suena apagado y sin brillo, a diferencia del P145 que tiene un sonido brillante por sus altavoces
My P 45 lasted 4 years I boughgt a neew P 145 ans was told that I would get a discount due to the short life I had from my old P 45 Yamaha lied to me and they charged me full price also after my P 145 was delivered I found the sound dreadfull. Anyone who say that the sound is great then please go to specsavers and get a hearing test The sound is very tinny and the keyboard is like playing a brick dont buy this junk
Glad to see an honest review by someone who knows better and isn't trying to sell a product to me. No clue how anyone doesn't see that messing with the speakers and action for the sake of compactness leads to a lower-quality instrument. Guess most people buy into marketing bullshit more than I'd expect them to in the modern day.
Hi, i have the opportunity to get a used yamaha p45 for 300 euro with the stand inclusive, the seller said its 3 years old and in good condition
I have never played before but i want to learn so i cant really test it because i have no comparism
Would you recommend me to buy it?
Another option would be a used kawai cn34 for 700 all incluvsive, with stand amd everything, is that a great thing?
Just cause you are passed off at Yamaha don’t take your frustrations out on the new p model. C’mon Mon show some class.
@@spada60 I complained about the sound to Yamaha about the P145 I bought. They aranged for the return within days . About 2 weeks later they got in touch with me to tell me the New P145 I bought had a fault on one of the speakers They sent me a brand new replacement a week later and this one one sounds very derrent to the original P145 I had. The matter was resolved 7 months ago so you was a bit late with your remarks.
Does the P125 has better piano sound than th P-95?
Solo desde el sonido es difícil responder esa pregunta, depende de los gustos de cada uno. Pero desde la estructura del sonido creo que el P125 tiene algunas características mejores, sin embargo creo que depende de cada uno
The “review” of the GHC action is disappointingly short (nonexistent)
Seems very similar apart from the case.
Apparently the speaker sounds better in person
The sound of the speaker is awful from both. the piano is the same and the Organ from the P145 is outstanding.
The only problem is the price
What would you say is a ‘good price’?
@@geoffwebber8272 The competition are all offering similar specs for 100 pound less that I remember. Yamaha could start there.
$444 on Thomann, so the eventual US price from American stores should be close. That's akin to the P45, so what is the issue?
Thomann no longer sells the P-45, but from what I recall it cost around $450 locally. The cheapest I've seen the P-145 so far locally from Thomann is $600. I don't think that's close.
Oh, no. I preferred the old one, looked easier to play that fiddly piece, too.
What's the Eminem song of the 5:50??
Blueberry Faygo
He said little about the weight and action of the keys. So there really is no difference??
There's definitely a difference because they made the action smaller. It's a downgrade from the original because of that and the compromised speakers (the new ones have too much focus on the midrange and the sound isn't as rich and balanced as a result despite the new sound engine; also, the speakers on the older model faced downwards because it was assumed you'd be playing with a keyboard stand instead of putting it on a table, so it's being unfairly muffled here in comparision to the new version).
Similar sound
Identical as far as the line-outs. Like any Yamaha digital piano that isn't one of their big, top-notch Clavinovas, you get your money's worth out of the instrument by hooking it up to a pair of Yamaha HS5 or HS7 speakers.
Yamaha continues to underwhelm with its new offerings.
Well, I've personally never been a fan of the P series anyway. Seems like it's just a one trick pony; whip it out for an open mic night, and then shove it in a closet until next time.
I'd never use it daily, just because it sacrifices its sound library and has too few buttons. It would need a keyboard to supplement it from above, although you couldn't really complain if it was a keyboard for lessons.
@@edsknifewhat alternatives do u suggest? i am looking to purchase my first digi piano and everyone seems to point me towards the yamaha p series
Bro which are u purchased or not if yes please which I m very confused@@JacobYuan_
@@JacobYuan_Roland FP series
@@mingyouxu6548is the roland fp-8 good?
the one closest to you.
Would you say the new P-145 beats the p-125?
No, la polifonia es menor, los sonidos son menores en cantidad, menos funciones.
@@ayrtoninchejanampa6874??? 125 has bigger polyphony
@@marek4639A si es, por eso dije que el P145 no supera al P125
Reality:
The sounds are exactly the same, and the speakers are of lower quality, they sound too much in the mediums compared to the p45 which has a richer sound throughout the spectrum, it has more bass and it sounds clearer.
What about the MIDI feeling of the p145?
Yep. They compromised the audio quality and action for the sake of compactness, which was the exact annoying marketing trend that made me avoid the Casio PSX keyboards like the plague. Really disappointed that Yamaha is following their lead and literally downgrading their keyboards; before this, they had the best affordable options on the market (45 and 125). On the upside, Kawai has finally stepped up with their affordable option with their upgrade of the ES-110, the 120, by finally putting non-piano voices which don't sound like cheap garbage and are actually decently competitive in sound quality, the older sounds being the only reason why the P-125 was the better option between it and the ES-110.
Thirst!!!!
you are beautiful to me!
Reflects poorly on the more expensive instruments.
Bloody how?
What do you mean?
bla bla bla ....I can't hear any difference from older models... same sound... boring
Literally no reason to buy these pieces of junk with the CK, CP, and YC on the market.
In shocking news: +2000e stage pianos are better than 500e beginner digital piano. Do you really think a beginner looking to buy first instrument is going to spend +2000 euros?
@@cirisirpula152 a CK61 is $999 dude.
@@lowercase3635 61 ck has a semi-weighted FSB keybed, so I don't know why someone looking to buy a digital piano would consider that? Completely different product for different use case
@@lowercase3635that’s twice the price, for 61 unweighted keys as opposed to 88 keys with hammer action. For people looking to learn the piano, there’s a very compelling reason to buy one of these instead of a ck61.
The ck61 may be a better tool for a gigging musician (I know I want one), but it’s completely unsuited for a piano student.
@@cirisirpula152 he probably cannot tell them apart and cannot grasp that they are products for very different markets.
No choice RE 'grand' piano, and electric sounds bad - so does organ. Key 'touch' (weight) can't be altered?. In this video they sound a bit tinny. My P-140 has more options.
El P140 es una gama superior al P145, son de años diferentes pero el modelo comparable al P140 hoy es el P515 o P525
