Yes this is Floors costume change number, and watch her coming on late in the next one due to a "costume malfunction". I don't know how many metal bands throw in Celtic instrumentals, but nobody does it as well as Nightwish. Notice at the end Emppu puts his plectrum in his mouth and holds up his hand, opens it up twice to tell Jukka he wants 10 drum/cymbal crashes in the finale, which Jukka duly supplies. They have great fun with this one (well, I guess you could say that of all their numbers but it really shows here). A festival hosts a number of concerts by different bands (and solo performers) so Wacken is an Open-air festival but this was the Nightwish concert (=show=gig) at that festival. Many festival shows are cut down in length, this one was full length (as headliners). You can find many other Nightwish festival gigs and a lot of them may be cut down to 9 or 10 songs.
Hi Deb, it's Dutch folk inspired by a dance called the "Dietsche Drommeldans". Some Welsh influences there as well, if you listen carefully. It's so hard to keep up that Emppu keels over in the end. Beautiful tattoo. Have you noticed Floor got her tats a few years into her reign with Nightwish. Right arm a detailed all knowing owl, left arm what appears to be vines. In a recent gig I believe she wore the same vines on her legs as well.
This was supposed to give Floor a short break, well yes she could rest her "instrunent" but I can imagine the stress level she got when not getting the new outfit on properly (undone zipper under her left arm)... She even almost get late to the microphone for the vocals in the next song, grabbing it in the last second and still pylls of an incredible perforamce!

But yes, as far as I can tell, "Last of the Wilds" is a Celtic piece, instrumental, that showcases Troy with his Uaellian pipes -- the national instrument of Ireland. Any time I hear those pipes, my immediate thoughts are, the rolling green hills of Ireland, serene and perfect, surrounded by a misty shroud of early-morning fog. There is a reason why Ireland is called "The Emerald Isle," and the Uaellian pipes bring that beauty to the ear of all who hear it. By the way, the Uaellian pipes have a much more mellow, sweeter sound than their harsher, shriller version of the Scottish bagpipes, which is why the Uaellian pipes are my favorite woodwind instrument.
So love your reactions Debbie and the obvious joy you get from experiencing this music. This is such a special and uplifting band and this Wacken show perfectly encapsulates what is so special. There is no ‘them and us’ with Nightwish, the band and the crowd are as one and these concerts are like a massive party with everyone involved. Imho, this is why it always needs to be a live recording, rather than a music video, to get the full energy and intensity of their performance.
