    It's one thing for a government agency to take your property by eminent domain for a school, but I don't think should be allowed to take it for the economic benefit of the tax base.

      You're not alone in your thinking. It's been very controversial ever since the supreme court ruled it was lawful for local governments to do so. Thank for leaving the comment

      In one of Paul Harvey's commentaries, he remarks about how the American people (way before our time) gave away private property rights to government that help to create these government powers.😑

    Nobody:
    Paul: The government needs to be able to take your private property because they need to.
    America: "But all this extra land, tho..."

    The IRS has the World afraid....how can an agency impose punitive damages for a non injured party?... For notes that are backed by the People...just asking...is this equity?...

    So, with police power... the title does not pass. What happens to the title?

    • @TheRealEstateClassroom
      @TheRealEstateClassroom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Title (ownership) remains with the property owners. The best way to think of it is the government... federal, state or local... tell you what you can and can't do with your property but they don't have to compensate or buy the from from you. Zoning laws are a prime example.... you own the property but they tell you what you can do with the land that you own....

    What is it called when the government gives a parcel of real property back to citizens ???
