I bought one of these as my '97 W202 C36 went into limp mode with no warning or symptoms. Fault code was in the TCM (722.6, 5 speed box) so I cleared the code then did the TCM reset procedure (left the car alone for 24 hours, just in case). Happy to say all is well again and this tool has probably saved me a lot of money and time at a garage. Nice :)
Incidentally, to reset the TCM (Transmission Control Module): 1. Turn ignition key to position 2 (the one before cranking engine). 2. Floor throttle pedal (all the way, engage the kickdown switch) & hold for 5-6 seconds. 3. Turn ignition to off (do NOT remove ignition key !) then release throttle pedal. 4. Touch and do NOTHING for 2-3 minutes while TCM resets (no windows, don't open doors, etc. nothing !). 5. Remove key & TCM will now be reset and in learning mode. Just to be sure, exit and lock then unlock the car to recycle the ignition and all should be well :)
are you saying that this 38 pin connector will enable an iCarsoft MB II to function on a W210? The W210 doesn't appear on that scanner. is there a software download for this chassis? Are all 38 pin functions accesses in this way?

I am Her Timely info!! I was eyeballing EBAY but was nervous about getting burned out of my money. I never heard of the website you posted it I’m all over it now!! It’ll be nice to know what the diagnosis is and don’t need to wonder if the tech is telling the truth about my cars.
