Keep in mind: if you’re using Ulrich in the mob fleet, the out of ammo debuff stacks with her off-flagship skill, meaning she’ll go over 100% damage reduction and she’ll only do 1 damage. Swap her to flagship when that happens.
Which is a much more sensible response than the very salty person further up in the replies who blamed this stacking debuff mechanic on "liberal common core math". (because 55+50 = 105 is clearly proof of a conspiracy afoot)
Man, i see someone upload video about Ulrich. So when her fleet out of ammo and sortie an enemy, her damage will noticed as 1 dmg. I was so laugh a lot.
The addition of the 2 debuffs means she got -100% damage. As you cannot do 0 damage in this game unless there is a skill that makes it (aka invulnerability) that some has, then it translates to scratch damage, or 1 damage.
Yeah that mini-game is infuriating until you figure out that your aim is only straight on the center line. Move down = Shoots more up. Move Up = Shoots more down For some reason my dumb ass stuck around long enough to figure that out
I dont get why you should put UvH in the middle. Even on boss fleet, its just a straight upgrade isnt it? She just deals more dmg anyways, on top of that the crit rate will be spread what makes her dmg output more reliable and her barage procs twice as much, thus more dmg and more slow. Someone already made the math she will have more damage efficiency while in flagship position vs off-flag, it was something like 140% vs 132%, I think. Her barrage does not compensate for the loss in damage on boss fights.

Or to put it more clearly, assuming she fires 4 times and that Helena procs 4 times as well we have: As flag: 1000*1.4 x4 =5600 As off flag: 1000*0.55 x 4 + (1000*0.55*1.4 x 4) = 5280 If you want to consider barrages then, assuming a barrage deals 200 dmg, that Helena procs 4 times and that Ulrich will only sync with her half the time then we have: As flag: 5600 + 200*4*1.4 = 6720 As off flag: 5280 + ((200*0.55*4) + (200*0.55*1.4*4)) = 6336 Just an addendum: I think I made a mistake and the barrage isn't affected by the dmg reduction so, in this particular example, it would compensate for the loss, but as your salvos do more damage on higher levels, the barrage starts diminishing so the results would be equivalent on say, a lvl. 15 META or an Arbiter/Enforcer. If I made another mistake, feel free to correct me.
I would say Essex or Illustrious would be the best performance-wise. Essex does good damage and has good support skills while Illustrious is very useful especially for CH13.

Something you should know about UvH: With her yellow skill at lvl 1 (-55% dmg), with her not as the flagship, with the "out of ammo" debuff (-50% dmg); her main cannon will do 1 point of damage. I contacted customer support and was basically told "working as intended." In that situation it is not 50% of 55%, it is -105%, which strikes me as liberal common core math levels of stupid.
Adalbert really isn't that great (not terrible just meh) Heinrich is just better and Agir has made both pointless unless you raise them for waifu reasons or tech points. Good for new players but that's it.

Shoukaku is the best ship to pick up if you already have Essex. Otherwise, choose Tirpitz if you're fan of German engineering.
