TBH i thought more people might have looked into the aux gear "unfulfilled promise" for bismarck since it cuts the ammo debuff down to 35% from 50% for the mainfleet. With this, UVH could still do some damage despite the debuff and her skills damage cut.
Oh man, I actually had Bismarck cued up to test the Unfulfilled Promise aux alongside Ulrich and a full KMS fleet and then ... totally forgot about it. The lesson as always is, I'm an idiot.
She's actually good in both boss and mob fleet her damage reduction when maxed is actually a damage increase of 10% when not the flagship. If you think about it she is hitting twice vs all other bb. NJ being better isn't a surprise I doubt anyone will be better than her at damage.
Her versatility with her roles is definitely one reason I love using her. Also love how she really helps the other fleet regardless of whether she's mobbing or bossing. Definitely gonna be great for W14.
I don’t get it much but does she at least surpass FDG in dpm? Another thing is she worth more than DOY in FDG NJ DOY backline? DOY’s dmg increase from shelling to targets that are hit seems hard to beat…
@@sorosoro2690 DOY doesn't do much damage herself so to beat her UVH needs to do more than 280k damage or somefin to make up the difference. From initial not maxed out testing apparently she is doing somewhere around FDG being her sister it makes sense. More testing is required obviously but initial observations would be a yes
@@sorosoro2690 I think she replaces FDG, not Duke of York in that team in particular. However I am rather a beginner in this game, so I can't say with 100% certainty. I've just seen UVH/NJ/DOY used in some of the AL content I've seen.
She's so great at mobbing she steals mvp from centaur and prevents vanguard from getting even 1 mvp even with no ammo in rapid fire mode with only 2% damage being dealt

Oh yeah the 1 point of damage, I didn't even consider that myself, but that's what happen when you have two additive damage debuffs. Out of ammo debuff is -50% global damage debuff, and if Ulfric is not a flagship, her main guns do between 45% and 55% reduced damage. Add them up together and you have between 105% and 95% reduced damage for her main guns depending on the skill level. Personally I got her the first day on my 78th pull and I maxed her out already with rainbow bulins. Today I did some extra pulls and I got another one, so I have 2 of em. My biggest regret in life is that I didn't get multiple New Jerseys, but life is life...

@@Yanderewaifu Yeah I was about to write about that too in my comment, but in the end 80% damage reduction vs 50% damage reduction if sortied as a flagship... But with twice as fast shooting, and twice as often proccing barrages too, I guess it's pretty even damage output in either position. Or you could also use Gloucester to decrease the debuff by another 15%, tho the skill description doesnt state which ships are affected by that buff. Same thing with Marco Polo. I highly also doubt that any of those skills would stack.
I've seen comments about people being disappointed about uvh. I think she is great. Mostly just me being a new player. I don't have all the fancy URs and pr ships everyone has. I will accept uvh into my poverty fleet.
It's mostly due to comparing her with her fellow UR New Jersey, who's just ridiculously strong. She does well compared to other ships though, including FDG. Also seen other ships that were described as disappointing at release only for them to end being great once people learned how to use them. UvR could end up being much better than some folks think.
Is double Ulrich strong enough to be worth it? BTW I have only a single copy of her which I pulled at 80 pulls and just enough cubes to pull the pity draw. Should I go for it or save my cubes.

In general, dupes really aren't necessary (plus you can't use 2 of the same ship in OpSi, for example). Then again, double UvH had been quite fun so far for me in campaign maps. Maybe just do daily (or triple) pulls first and see if she drops so you don't burn cubes

Devs say they will rerun UR events but haven't announced when as of now. Would still need to see reruns for New Jersey and Shimakaze, who came before UVH.
A leveled up Ulrich sounds like a great solution haha. In the meantime, I bring submarines and use ships that have good barrages and/or carriers with pre-loaded air strikes for emergency clears. FDG's defensive barrage works really well, for example as does Perseus and Aquila's pre-loaded air strikes.
I'm still amateur at this game, I lvled her up to 100 using bulins after getting her and tried to pull for Prinz but just ends up getting more dupes of Ulrich. I might just try that double Ulrich in the future.
UVH is so good at mobbing you can put her off-main with say Perseus and all sorts of other ships and the fleet would do well. UVH + FDG is hilariously fun for mobbing. Some good backline mobbers include Aquila, Vittorio, etc. Just make sure to add carriers to deal with planes in W12. Frontline kind of depends on what backline you use but always good to have some ships with good survivability mixed with some with good barrages. You'll want ships with good AA though like Sandy for plane-heavy stages.
How do I use her, I barely started the game and already have 2 of her. I'm wondering wether I should user her dupe to rank her up or not. Not to mention I haven't been able to get equipment for her cause I don't know how.
UR ships are long term investment. If you're just starting up then you simply won't have access to the resources needed to fully utilize her. Sure, you can use her, but she'll never be at full potential anyways. In general it's better to first focus on raising two fleets worth of normal but competent ships before attempting to raise these "super" ships. Only when you hit mid game, around chapter 9 or so, then you should try going for them. As for the duplicate, do as you wish. Although the argument here is that raising them both is pretty expensive and the material to limit break them is scarce compared to the other rarities that maybe it's better to only have one of each UR ships to diversify your future line up. Then again, there's no "wrong" move in AL (apart from retiring all your ships after spending all your cubes) so you can do whatever you want, really. Worry about the meta later when you're sufficiently prepared. For now, even Elite ships aren't half-bad.
Yup, what Dat Lynn said. Azur Lane can be a bit overwhelming for newcomers due to all the stuff that's been added over the years (I've been trying to put together a comprehensive beginners guide with all the new updated content but there's so much to go through, I keep pushing it back). But it'll start making sense after a while. You're gated by Rainbow Bulins, which take time to acquire, for max limit-breaking URs like Ulrich so just focus on going through the campaign and developing 6 backliners (e.g. 3 battleships and 3 carriers) and 6 vanguard ships (e.g. 2 heavy cruisers, 2 light cruisers and 2 destroyers) for a full two-fleet setup. Then get those up to at least LV90-100 ASAP. That way, you can do the hard maps for events to get points for exchange rewards and buying stuff in the event shop since you need to build up resources as a new player. You can also use gear boxes to build up your equipment at first and then earn core data by doing your 3 daily hard mode missions in the main campaign map (which you can then use to buy some nice gear from the Core Shop). And spam every Commission/Mission that gives cubes so you can build a nice stash before every event. It's nice to have at least 200 cubes going into an event so you have a decent chance for pulling the ships. Hope that helps!

Is UVH a better replacement for DOY IN FDG NJ DOY backline? I mean can she offset the dmg boost from DOY in raw dpm? Edit: This is all I care for atm, whether she’s a replacement for DOY. I find that FDG NJ DOY is a good backline for auto-ing meta.
Honestly, I like all 3 so it shouldn't be an either-or proposition. In terms of damage, she compares nicely to FDG and can even exceed her when using reload boost but FDG is better defensively. They also have good synergy with each other when placed in separate fleets. I'd use all three when running more than one fleet depending on the situation.

Also trying out (in OpSi) running a second IB fleet with Graff Zeppelin and Odin in the back line... because a universal 20% damage reduction and a total of 40% reduction for Odin could be funny.
I was under the impression that the devs said UR ship events will get reruns. It might be a while, though, since it's been over a year since the Shinano event and it has yet to run again.

I mean even with the same chance to drop each ship as event pull (since there were 4, there should have been a 25% to get either one of the four event SR), not getting Rikka 30 times in a row is a 0.75 to the power of 30, or 0.000178 chance. fuck me. Now I have 4 Aux gears that are entirely useless for a ship I can not get anymore.
I'm a bit of a pack rat lol. You should see my cog chips/arrays. Admittedly, I do get the monthly trade licenses and pay for the fair winds passes as my way of supporting the game though.

I'd say Ulrich's character design is based on Nana Osaki from the anime Nana. Especially since they use the singing animation on the L2D.

It's from PR3 research. Honestly, the Twin 406mm Prototype also works really well and is even better in many cases due to its stronger burn.

Well that gun choice explains the 1 damage.
Regardless of the gun, a 100% damage reduction (50% from out of ammo and 50% of not being flagship with level 5 skill) will make any gun do 1 damage
@@EliiGamer685 I'm fairly certain the overall damage is halved. Meaning the overall damage value calculated is then halved. Which is not 1. And I'm finding my Ulrich is doing way more damage than 1 damage using the purple 406s.
