MAIDAI is actually pretty spooky tho. not in the lore or anything, but rarely do these kinds of scares actually spook me. Hearing the running of footsteps, the frantic changing of channels, seeing her behind every corner is somehow so much creepier and more panic inducing than the majority of other horror games I've seen mark play.
It’s because simply glancing at her means you have to press a button to look away in a manner of speaking, like you can’t run away, you can’t confront or sneak around, once you see it you literally just can’t exist in that place with it or else you’ll get caught.
I think it would be scarier to have an entity walk around in real time rather than pop up randomly around the corner, standing still and waiting for you to run into her.
I think it's because since you have to flick away through inputs quickly, she has a fear of the unknown type thing going on. you can only see her for a second before having to look away. and while you can _see_ her at input 6 and in the title screen, the game itself still manages to give that feeling of an unknown threat
Part of me likes to think that mark just sends lixian the unedited vids and lixian is just sitting there watching them, quietly chuckling to himself as he watches these videos, adding in whatever edits he wants, and that mark just trusts his work and just posts the videos not knowing what lixian may have done
That is true, he does give Lixian some foundations for a joke so he can expand on it during editing in any way he wants. The interactiveness between the two is hilarious

This video is extra funny when you take into account the protagonist is canonically remotely-controlling the MAIDAI robots through the Inputs, so imagine a bunch of maid robots wandering through the halls loudly complaining in Mark’s voice.

The investor was at edge of financial breakdown due to his other investments, so he wanted to take Tech-aid and Agrest under his full control, which was the only two seemingly doing well at the time. The directors of both companies surely didnt wanted their investor taking away their devotion of life but they had no power to reject the decision, so they came up with a plan to bring everything down. I believed it involved using a fired tech guy's ID card to activate site-wide alert signal. I have no idea who is controlling these robots to bomb the factory though.
@@shroomxox Please people correct le if I'm wrong. The thing is you actually play a detective reviewing 6 Maidai's recording. The company was managed by three guys (two brothers and another guy). After a bad press (malfunctionning robots and clients complaining), they decided to close the facility. But the other guy, before the events of the game, wanted to take over the company and have full ownership. The two brothers heard about it, and decided to act. In the control room (a room with 3 bright red screens hanging), there's an ID card, from a guy that have been fired (seen in archives). This ID card have been used to activate the Alert Mode of the Maidai robot, making it go rogue. Or the guy was fired and wanted to take revenge, or the two brothers wanted to destroy the reputation of the company, sabotaging the plans of the other guys, and used this guy to take the blame. But the other guy have set up explosives to hide every evidences of any wrong doing. So, in the game, all the inputs that you have to find are to deactivate the Maidai you're controlling. And when the 6th try to reactivate the machinery, it made the explosives go kaboom. And then, you see it in the newspaper at the end, the guys got arrested and the case was handed to a detective agency, leading back to the beginning of the game, meaning they had to review the recording of the Maidai units. Hope it's a bit clearer now x)
@@shroomxox It’s just corporate fraud or revenge lol. There’s three main guys in charge of the company - 2 brothers and 1 other dude who bought over most of their company. He wants to buy over their share, they don’t want to give, ends up he got some angry employee to sabotage the AI of the maidbots (which are the bros main product) so the brothers’ rep is trashed. And also set up explosives in the main factory (which Mark actually ran into) to blow up the evidence. You’re playing an investigator using recordings from the maidbots that didn’t go haywire (not sure why) to basically investigate corporate fraud/sabotage. That’s it. The maidbots could look like roombas and it’ll be the same thing.
The way this game sometimes shifts the environment around the player is hilariously genius. It makes you start to feel actually insane. Normally, I don't say this, but I think this indie horror game deserves a sequel. The concept is really great, and I'd be very excited to see how it could be expanded upon.

Yeah, it's a great mechanic for a game like this, where your perspective is constantly changing due to the inputs, so it takes you a lot longer to realize that it actually is teleporting you around the map at certain points.
I like to imagine mark, trying to record his movie. With each day he gets more and more agitated until finally storming off set, shouting that he needs to find out the secrets of the robo maid.
The map doesn't really change. If you look closely, some of the rooms that he goes I to teleport him to an identical one across the map. It's a genius feature and works so well to confuse the hell out of Mark
@@tutiadhd It's always cool when that happens in non-euclidean stuff, but it just works so _perfectly_ seamlessly in this game because it isn't a game that focuses on reality-warping and it isn't expected. This is a game where you're constantly switching between 5 maps and having a hard time getting your bearings, and then the game leans heavily into that natural struggle and secretly blends this mechanic in. While you're dealing with the stressors of limited time-pressure, constant minigames impairing your senses, and the sudden appearances of MAIDAI startling you and forcing you to immediately abandon your current train of thought, the teleportation becomes very difficult to notice. When this is added to the sudden map-shifting, it easily results in you being completely unable to keep track of the layout, and keeps you feeling lost and unaware of the fact that the maps make no sense. It's honestly genius.
Fun fact I learned about that maze trick recently. The reason why always making left turns work is because most mazes are made of 2 “pieces” so if you put your “hand” on one side of a two piece maze and always turn left or right you will always make it out because you are following the inside edges of one of the pieces. If a maze is made up of more than 2 pieces and you try this trick you could possibly loop in a circle forever.
That’s why, if you don’t know, you take and keep to the right wall so you’ll always find a way out. Even if it takes longer. You can’t get lost that way, and it’ll help you keep track of where you were; whether you have to go back or forward.

@@KingofJ95 I didn’t see this until now, so I’ll bring in some examples and what I think of them. 1. If you had more entrances you know it’s closed by looping back to the original entrance. In this case, just go to the next and do the same thing. 2. In a middle exit which requires inward turns, you can still use it on every entrance hall. That’s next after looping back to the entrance once and figure it out. (ps. It’ll be easier to know if you can see the exit point being in the middle before entering, but thats more irl). 3. A bridge maze or in a 3 dimensional, usually you’ll know to not do it anyways by the appearance. But most are fictional scenarios. Even then I heard someone say to use the left or right method but keep track of up and down as southeast and northwest. This is just a really tricky maze if it’s not a one path. 4. In an inclosed maze, you just mark the starting point somehow since there is no winning and you realize your fate. 5. Trick mazes are the ones that you can’t win using left, right. But usually you can get away with a lot of the tricks using common sense with it. Like not relying on the right wall, but instead the fictional one. Trick mazes are equally unfair, so they are completely different. Even a trick maze with a tunnel, single bridge, or teleporter can be solved with it to a degree. You’ll find the exit somehow, just use common sense and don’t entirely rely on it. In any case, you can mark where you’ve been as well. This is the best rule for everything. The times you can’t is when having no materials (like a concrete maze) or a trick maze (which is unfair). That’s why it’s “possible” to loop forever. A person would eventually figure the mazes trick out. Unless they died first ig, but that’s a really long or unfair maze. So it can always work to a degree, you just have to be sensible about it. I get there’s too many scenarios for a say-one-wins-all, but 3D and trick mazes are some of the only ones to be wary of. And usually you wouldn’t live those irl unless its like a saw situation. Just my take, I was really just repeating what the first guy said but why going to the right wall is a better method than right turns, left turns. Generally it’s a good rule if you’re unsure at the beginning. I’ll always use the right wall method paired with the hansel and gretel unless I can’t. Then I just use some form of it, unless it’s endless. You’re always screwed if it’s endless.

I’m happy Mark figured out the rooms changed, I saw it happen first at 20:40 He started in that locker room, then went to a random side room, it was a dead end, and then the WHOLE locker room changed into a grey hallway!
I am honestly really glad that Mark is taking is time on his usual schedule, making sure that he can handle his things well and balance it up a bit. Seeing him happy makes me glad that Mark is still trying to still have a great experience playing horror games, and always giving us such entertaining content we are all glad to see you doing great Mark.
Okay, those sets of identical rooms that warp you around the building while you have to simultaneously memorize where 5 cameras are…that’s downright evil, lol. And hilarious in a way. I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out at the end. I was so confused, like, “Wait… what…? Two identical showers…? What are you talking about…?” Then I saw it and was like “Oh. Wow.” Also, the left-hand rule (like you said) doesn’t work when a maze has loops. Without loops, every wall connects to the perimeter wall. Taking every left (or right) means you’re walking along the perimeter of the maze to the next exit. With loops, there’s a branching wall that doesn’t connect to the perimeter, and following it leads nowhere. This is why, more fully, you are supposed to (1) mark every left (on the left wall), then, if you find a mark, you (2) go right. If all paths are marked, (3) start following a wall that isn’t marked (even if it is along a direction you’ve gone already), and resume as normal at the next junction. Something like this should cover most to all edge cases, I think. As an example, imagine a 由 shape (assuming the top leads to the exit). If you start at the center facing up, you’ll draw out the top left square, then head down to draw the bottom right square. From there, you’ve gone all four ways in the middle junction. The last rule would have you trace the upper right square to the middle right junction. Then, as you’re out of paths, you follow the outer wall, every path having been taken until you follow that wall straight to the exit. (Ie: (start) ↑, (1) ←, (N/A) ↓, (1) →, (2) ↓, (1) →, (N/A) ↑, (1) ←, (3) ↑, (2) →, (N/A) ↓, (3) ↓, (N/A) ←, (3) ←, (N/A) ↑, (3) ↑, (N/A) →, (1) ↑, (exit). The N/As indicate where it’s only possible to go one direction, eg: turning a corner. The numbers say which rule led to that step/choice. Either way, assuming you have pen and paper, your best bet is to just map the dumb thing out, lol.
Some of the most entertaining moments of Marks career is when he thinks he's doing the right thing but in truth he has no idea what he's doing and becomes so confused once he finds out he is doing it wrong. You'll be able to know he has no idea once you hear a faint "hhh-what?"

I really like this game, it's creepy, and it does give you a good scare at times, it's also got pretty unique gameplay, and it looks good. The vibes it gives of are just right, and th way the fast forward works as a sprint ect is a real nice touch to the old vido tape look of the game. This has probably got to be one of the best games i've seen in a while, and I'm really glad Mark took his time to play this again!

I don't know why maybe it was his request for small quick games but when I saw the length of this video I felt bad. He is working so hard and here he is providing the content we all want while also working hard on the movie. And the editors too!! The whole team is working so hard

I love how creative the horror game community can get. The idea of exploring 6 different locales at the same time while avoiding the same threat whilst on a time limit and fixing malfunctions that hinder exploration is truly what separates this from other horror titles.
I am so happy you gave INPUT6 another try, while the lore seems a bit barebones I find the overall game design and gameplay really interesting 😄 I truly hope this game gets some sort of sequel or expansion someday.
It’d probably do better with a sequel then an update or expansion. That way they don’t mess up the gameplay or lore, but expand on it and make playing the first more interesting. Besides the maybe slight changes to fit lore.

Mark, you have been controlling 5 different Maids at 5 different factories, to reach the devices that activate the bombs. The "hostile" maids were actually the one trying to stop you from blowing all the factories. Lore supposedly is that the company making the maids has 2 co-directors and one of them ordered the factories to blow up, while the normal maids tried to stop hostile action. First time I saw the game from your previous video of Input6 was insta-buy for me, really interesting concept of exploration and trying to outrun the timer.
I learned how it teleports you. So there are two identical rooms in each of the areas. One of the two rooms teleports you to the other room, but it only works one way. It would be easier to notice if both of the rooms teleported you to the other, so instead it's just one and since the layout of the map is very similar and repetitive, you're mind just assumes that you keep going there instead of the game messing you up. You already have so many other things to focus on like the maid, the minigames, and looking for the remotes. Once you get the idea and you watch out for it, it becomes noticeable and you could probably take advantage of it.

@@black_lemon5258 I think the outside would stay the same. The doors to the house act like gates to a pocket dimension. Going through the front door will always take you to the entrance, for instance, but the layout of the rest of the house is constantly changing. One moment, the entrance could lead to the the kitchen, and the next moment, to the attic.

@@shroomxox It’s just corporate fraud or revenge lol. There’s three main guys in charge of the company - 2 brothers and 1 other dude who bought over most of their company. He wants to buy over their share, they don’t want to give, ends up he got some angry employee to sabotage the AI of the maidbots (which are the bros main product) so the brothers’ rep is trashed. And also set up explosives in the main factory (which Mark actually ran into) to blow up the evidence.
You’re playing an investigator using recordings from the maidbots that didn’t go haywire (not sure why) to basically investigate corporate fraud/sabotage. That’s it. The maidbots could look like roombas and it’ll be the same thing.

The way this game sometimes shifts the environment around the player is hilariously genius. It makes you start to feel actually insane. Normally, I don't say this, but I think this indie horror game deserves a sequel. The concept is really great, and I'd be very excited to see how it could be expanded upon.

Yeah, it's a great mechanic for a game like this, where your perspective is constantly changing due to the inputs, so it takes you a lot longer to realize that it actually is teleporting you around the map at certain points.

@@tutiadhd It's always cool when that happens in non-euclidean stuff, but it just works so _perfectly_ seamlessly in this game because it isn't a game that focuses on reality-warping and it isn't expected.
This is a game where you're constantly switching between 5 maps and having a hard time getting your bearings, and then the game leans heavily into that natural struggle and secretly blends this mechanic in. While you're dealing with the stressors of limited time-pressure, constant minigames impairing your senses, and the sudden appearances of MAIDAI startling you and forcing you to immediately abandon your current train of thought, the teleportation becomes very difficult to notice. When this is added to the sudden map-shifting, it easily results in you being completely unable to keep track of the layout, and keeps you feeling lost and unaware of the fact that the maps make no sense. It's honestly genius.
Fun fact I learned about that maze trick recently. The reason why always making left turns work is because most mazes are made of 2 “pieces” so if you put your “hand” on one side of a two piece maze and always turn left or right you will always make it out because you are following the inside edges of one of the pieces. If a maze is made up of more than 2 pieces and you try this trick you could possibly loop in a circle forever.
That’s why, if you don’t know, you take and keep to the right wall so you’ll always find a way out. Even if it takes longer. You can’t get lost that way, and it’ll help you keep track of where you were; whether you have to go back or forward.

@@KingofJ95 I didn’t see this until now, so I’ll bring in some examples and what I think of them.
1. If you had more entrances you know it’s closed by looping back to the original entrance. In this case, just go to the next and do the same thing.
2. In a middle exit which requires inward turns, you can still use it on every entrance hall. That’s next after looping back to the entrance once and figure it out. (ps. It’ll be easier to know if you can see the exit point being in the middle before entering, but thats more irl).
3. A bridge maze or in a 3 dimensional, usually you’ll know to not do it anyways by the appearance. But most are fictional scenarios. Even then I heard someone say to use the left or right method but keep track of up and down as southeast and northwest. This is just a really tricky maze if it’s not a one path.
4. In an inclosed maze, you just mark the starting point somehow since there is no winning and you realize your fate.
5. Trick mazes are the ones that you can’t win using left, right. But usually you can get away with a lot of the tricks using common sense with it. Like not relying on the right wall, but instead the fictional one. Trick mazes are equally unfair, so they are completely different.
Even a trick maze with a tunnel, single bridge, or teleporter can be solved with it to a degree. You’ll find the exit somehow, just use common sense and don’t entirely rely on it.
In any case, you can mark where you’ve been as well. This is the best rule for everything. The times you can’t is when having no materials (like a concrete maze) or a trick maze (which is unfair).
That’s why it’s “possible” to loop forever. A person would eventually figure the mazes trick out. Unless they died first ig, but that’s a really long or unfair maze.
So it can always work to a degree, you just have to be sensible about it.
I get there’s too many scenarios for a say-one-wins-all, but 3D and trick mazes are some of the only ones to be wary of. And usually you wouldn’t live those irl unless its like a saw situation.
Just my take, I was really just repeating what the first guy said but why going to the right wall is a better method than right turns, left turns. Generally it’s a good rule if you’re unsure at the beginning.
I’ll always use the right wall method paired with the hansel and gretel unless I can’t. Then I just use some form of it, unless it’s endless.

Okay, those sets of identical rooms that warp you around the building while you have to simultaneously memorize where 5 cameras are…that’s downright evil, lol. And hilarious in a way. I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out at the end. I was so confused, like, “Wait… what…? Two identical showers…? What are you talking about…?” Then I saw it and was like “Oh. Wow.”
Also, the left-hand rule (like you said) doesn’t work when a maze has loops. Without loops, every wall connects to the perimeter wall. Taking every left (or right) means you’re walking along the perimeter of the maze to the next exit. With loops, there’s a branching wall that doesn’t connect to the perimeter, and following it leads nowhere. This is why, more fully, you are supposed to (1) mark every left (on the left wall), then, if you find a mark, you (2) go right. If all paths are marked, (3) start following a wall that isn’t marked (even if it is along a direction you’ve gone already), and resume as normal at the next junction. Something like this should cover most to all edge cases, I think.
As an example, imagine a 由 shape (assuming the top leads to the exit). If you start at the center facing up, you’ll draw out the top left square, then head down to draw the bottom right square. From there, you’ve gone all four ways in the middle junction. The last rule would have you trace the upper right square to the middle right junction. Then, as you’re out of paths, you follow the outer wall, every path having been taken until you follow that wall straight to the exit. (Ie: (start) ↑, (1) ←, (N/A) ↓, (1) →, (2) ↓, (1) →, (N/A) ↑, (1) ←, (3) ↑, (2) →, (N/A) ↓, (3) ↓, (N/A) ←, (3) ←, (N/A) ↑, (3) ↑, (N/A) →, (1) ↑, (exit). The N/As indicate where it’s only possible to go one direction, eg: turning a corner. The numbers say which rule led to that step/choice.
Either way, assuming you have pen and paper, your best bet is to just map the dumb thing out, lol.

The relief I felt when I seen he finally came back after the longest few weeks of our lives is real
I really like this game, it's creepy, and it does give you a good scare at times, it's also got pretty unique gameplay, and it looks good. The vibes it gives of are just right, and th way the fast forward works as a sprint ect is a real nice touch to the old vido tape look of the game. This has probably got to be one of the best games i've seen in a while, and I'm really glad Mark took his time to play this again!

I love how creative the horror game community can get. The idea of exploring 6 different locales at the same time while avoiding the same threat whilst on a time limit and fixing malfunctions that hinder exploration is truly what separates this from other horror titles.
God I missed this. College is a lot and I need my regular dosage of Mark to stay sane.

Mark, you have been controlling 5 different Maids at 5 different factories, to reach the devices that activate the bombs. The "hostile" maids were actually the one trying to stop you from blowing all the factories. Lore supposedly is that the company making the maids has 2 co-directors and one of them ordered the factories to blow up, while the normal maids tried to stop hostile action. First time I saw the game from your previous video of Input6 was insta-buy for me, really interesting concept of exploration and trying to outrun the timer.
The barely audible gasp of joy along with the frantic clicking as you spotted the coffee cup at 27:20 was so heartbreaking 😅

I learned how it teleports you. So there are two identical rooms in each of the areas. One of the two rooms teleports you to the other room, but it only works one way. It would be easier to notice if both of the rooms teleported you to the other, so instead it's just one and since the layout of the map is very similar and repetitive, you're mind just assumes that you keep going there instead of the game messing you up. You already have so many other things to focus on like the maid, the minigames, and looking for the remotes. Once you get the idea and you watch out for it, it becomes noticeable and you could probably take advantage of it.

Going through the front door will always take you to the entrance, for instance, but the layout of the rest of the house is constantly changing. One moment, the entrance could lead to the the kitchen, and the next moment, to the attic.
