    Awesome! So adding titanium dioxide directly to lye solution makes such a difference? Wow, and your idea with the mica around the sun, brilliant! It gave the sun radiance!

    • @CreamyObsession
      @CreamyObsession  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, major difference! But it has to be water soluble. I used to make mini batches especially for the white portions just because of this. Have been using the oil based one for a bit now, but it was nice to go back to the water soluble, and wow... I've forgotten how white the soap can be.

    I saw a picture of this soap on Facebook and was absolutely thrilled you had a video - such detailed work and so beautiful. I have tried forming my own hills and mountains at thick trace, but now that I know stencils can be used....just awesome!! Thanks for the video, inspiring :)

    And please please consider online courses 🙏

      I've been making soap for just over 2 years now, and with guidance my husband actually made one of these as his first soap ever! I wrote about it in one of my Instagram posts back in February 😊💕

      How long did it take you to make this soap? All the batches that go into it, and allowing each layer to set up before you start the next. I’m guessing you worked on this for two days?

    • @CreamyObsession

      The time between layers varies on many factors, some take a few minutes and others need half a day to set up enough.

    I have a question. I'm brand new to soap making and my last recipe had wayyyyy to much coconut oil in it. Or at least I learned that coconut oil is very drying so I reckon those bars will have to be give aways with a disclaimer saying they are drying and maybe send them a bottle of moisturizer along with it. LOL! Is coconut milk the same? I'm guessing at this point that coconut oils is best used for hardening and nothing else, right? What about the milk?

    • @CreamyObsession
      @CreamyObsession  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coconut milk is completely different from the oil and does quite the opposite. It's more moisturizing, like any milk you'd add, and adds a really nice creaminess to the lather.
      As for coconut oil, you can make a nice bar with it, but you have to counteract with a higher superfat if you use a higher percentage. I use it in almost every recipe (prefer it at around 20% of the recipe) as it adds bubbliness and boosts the lather - it's just all about a good balance!

    What benefit does adding vitamin E oil do for soap?

    • @CreamyObsession
      @CreamyObsession  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It adds slip to the bars and a silky feeling to the lather :)
