    The fist upgrade that makes your main weapon do no damage is why your quest stopped progressing.

    the spectral fist upgrade makes it so that it replaces your regular weapon attack, so you werent hitting with your axes because you were "using" spectral fists

      I wonder if people actually read the description of the abilities they take.

    The fist upgrade stopped your quest progress due to it disabling the main attack, because it was not your main attack, also crit stats are pointless for effect builds and yes you need to max out attack speed and multistrike as much as you can for that quest, not sure if hitting multiple enemies helps or not, but prioritize area and range too just to be safe.
    Burn, frost and spark can't crit and gains no damage from it, so on effect build you can banish crit chance and ruthless. Unless you are going for crit sources along with effects. But that splits the potion use and is not really worth it.
    Don't take damage on abilities, it is the weakest of the upgrades by far. Only take it if you need the other stats it gives.
    The torment shard also affects your own chance to apply burn. So you also gain 20% burn chance.
    Marching ghosts disappears when the lord spawns

    Frost works quite differently from burn/shock, which are much more straight forward DoTs. Frost isn't a DoT and doesn't actually damage the target with the frost stacks. Once an enemy gains a stack of frost, it has a non-refreshing 10s duration (don't believe there's any way to increase/decrease this). If that 10s duration goes by without the enemy dying OR reaching 20 stacks of frost, all stacks are removed and nothing happens. If it reaches 20 stacks OR dies with stacks still on it, it releases a frost wave in a 2m area (does not scale with range/area, instead slightly scales based on the highest damage stack of frost on it when triggered) which damages all other enemies in that area. Base damage is 80 per stack. An enemy dying/hitting 20 stacks and triggering a frost wave often then triggers multiple other nearby enemies dying and triggering their own frost waves, triggering more enemies dying, etc. Which is why you often see the big cascade of grouped up mobs all dying at the same time from frost.
    Also worth noting, if the attack which would apply the first stack of frost on a target actually kills the target with its direct damage, it will NOT trigger the frost wave as frost stacks are always applied after direct damage is dealt. All this combined is why you generally want the things applying your frost stacks to be fast attacking and relatively low damage per hit. Get to 20 stacks fast, don't accidentally kill stuff with big crits/etc before you can apply frost to them. Which is what makes the Norseman and Exterminator the best at maximizing frost applications/damage output as both have very fast attacking main weapons that don't hit very hard.
    Affliction is the debuff to pair with burn/shock/frost as it increases their damage by 5% per stack of affliction. "Effect Damage" (burn/shock/frost) is NOT increased from normal damage bonuses, nor can it crit. Its damage per stack is only increased by things that specifically say effect damage or the elemental effect damage type (FROST is the effect damage type, ICE is the direct damage type, they are distinct). Another way to think of this, if the damage number is white/red, it's direct damage. If it's orange (burn), blue (shock), purple (frost) it's effect damage. The damage Dragon's Breath deals on the wave passing through enemies is direct damage, fire type. Once they're set on fire, the ticking damage is effect damage, burn type.
    Fragility is the direct damage counterpart to affliction.
    Also, a kind of weird mechanic with affliction/fragility is that the more stacks you apply to a target, the faster they fall off. Each "tick" the target loses half their stacks, tick duration is calculated as (5 - (number of stacks X .05)) seconds. So if they have 10 stacks, a tick is 4.5 seconds. If they have 75 stacks a tick is 1.25s. If you add more stacks before the tick ends, it's actually reducing the tick time accordingly. Thus, it is impossible to get 100 stacks on a target (since that would reduce the tick time to 0s), but in theory possible to get 99.

    marching ghosts: always there from the start, just far away and slowly walk to the middle. They vanish along with all other enemies when the boss spawns.
    Melee hits: spectral fists upgrade stopped you actually getting melee hits.
    Burn stacks: You got these from the magma fist artifact.

    To avoid being hit, if you want to do it the easy way, just wait for 360 seconds after you kill the final boss and before you enter the portal. For some reason it allows you to get the achievement that way. Same with admit if the stay still for x amount of time achievements.

    The thing that sets you on fire, also sets enemies on fire, it's indiscriminate.

      Again, I wonder if some people can read. The burn artifact for the Agony makes it so the monsters can burn you and can also burn them.

    I believe 2 buckets per run is max, so 3 items is the maximum you can send. Also, 48:25 Base Values (-11999991) for the damage of Dual Axes because of Consecutive Punches ;)

    I just started DAoC on Eden yesterday... Lil Tic is already 18... really casual playing.
    as for the marching ghosts... those are there from the beginning of the run, they start marching from either end towards the bucket. as soon as they meet, they despawn.

    I still haven't seen any content creator use Hail Storm as the full-on degenerate spell that it is. First, don't be afraid to put a healthy bit of points into Area and Multistrike, then rock out with the Vision Crown - make sure you go Hailstorm Vortex and then Frozen Fire. Feel absolutely free to spec hard into Ice and Fire damage/%, and if you're feeling especially spicy, grab yourself an Echoing Band (or two). The vortexes become so fucking massive, so gargantuan, that they just pull everything away from you, this is while you're setting everything on fire, everything gets chilly, and to rub salt in the wound you can add Astronomer's Orbs for that fat fucking area and lightning damage. And definitely make sure to tincture the 0.4 bonuses on Hail Storm so you have about 8 of those bitches circling you.

    • @gamingwithjeff

      I can totally see that, just need to loot a vision crown lol

    • @Lothos88
      @Lothos88 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Echoing Band wouldn't do anything with hail storm as it can only affect physical and/or magic damage and hailstorm does neither, it only ever deals elemental damage.

    To answer your question on if you should keep playing characters that you're more confident with, or if you should choose the toons you don't know as well along with pain and suffering? I choose the more difficult stuff. That's where you will probably find some crazy builds that are unexpected!

    This game is too easy in its current state, primarily due to that blood catcher necklace - after the first few minutes, it ramps up so hard it makes you practically immortal

    • @gamingwithjeff
      @gamingwithjeff  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't know if it's too easy, i think the balanced is just messed up from the necklace. Early game is crazy hard with most relics active. But once you get the necklace going it doesn't matter. Hopefully they can lower the curve a bit

      After you hit around 90 defense, going over that nets you almost nothing in terms of additional damage reduction. Diminishing returns kick in HARD after 80% reduction. Now if you're using the "reactive" version of defiant plate in a thorns build, then it's worth pumping up as much as you can since that becomes offensive power.

    At the beginning i thought that norseman was weak. As i progressed through the game and got items and potions i have to say he is top 3 strongest characters in the game easily. Absolutely incredible damage if played optimally. I think i managed to hit close to 1billion damage with him.

    • @crossmodulation9730
      @crossmodulation9730 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You gotta build everything on-hit on him. Fire, lightning, ice and echo rings work nicely. But he definitely feels underwhelming in the beginning.

      @@crossmodulation9730 What i do is i take every weapon proficiency he has using the memory potions and i reverberate his traits while picking regen and multistrike from archer's mark. I go 2 crit rings with mask of madness and blood catcher and stack defense with regen. I was invincible 7 artifacts 2.1 billion damage agony 5 2110% damage blood catcher.

    • @Lothos88
      @Lothos88 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@crossmodulation9730 Yeah, he's not a big direct damage dealer, has I think the lowest base damage main weapon attack in the game. But he attacks super fast and is naturally tanky and speedy.
      He and the Exterminator are both pretty similar, fairly tanky, fast attacking, on-hit focused classes. Exterminator just has an easier time early on because burn is much easier to get effective damage out of without needing to specifically build around it, while frost is more complicated and to really do much you have to lean into.

    I don't think the necklace will ever be nerfed, it's probably the only reason we can do torment 10+, no other item that gives as much damage, and at 10+ it's really starting to be TONS of hp on mobs.
    They would need to nerf mob HP if they nerf that item, sure, its not great that a single item is what makes Torment 10+ viable, but removing it would just mean we all sit at 9 trying to optimize it there.
    Btw, you sabotaged yourself with that fist upgrade which made your main attack shot slow af :D
    You applied Burn to enemies via the torment item "Any damage taken has a chance to set you on fire" works for enemies as well.
