you gotta do something called "pre strafe", basically i turn my mouse slightly to the left then i press W and D simultaneously and quickly move my mouse to the right, that will make me gain a slightly higher walking speed than usual, you can try watching the video in slowmotion, you might get the gist. (i do the same thing at 7:29)
@@tadehack_ctz sure i understand that but what i mean is in my game there is a pipeline. When I jump at that point my head hits that pipeline so i canot perform that jump. Have you ever notice in your game that pipeline is there?
It's solid AF! Just need to use it like a melee weapon 😂 point-black headshots never go astray if you can pull them off. So much can be 1-shot (tho don't absolutely rely on it for things like Revenants 😂)
Doom 3 Shotgun is great, you just need to time it right to avoid taking any damage and blasting the thing into opponents face. you one shot almost everything
@@test-rj2vl There are few differences. In BFG edition you have flashlight attached to your shoulder, in the Original you have to switch between weapon and flashlight. In BFG the environment is much brighter, in Original it's very dark. Original version is much darker and scarier, thus more hard.

@@ubermorpth2208 the original version is just superior in many aspects, as well as being harder. here are some of the things i don't like about the BFG version: -no gun muzzle flash -the guns sounds weaker and slower -double the ammount of the original ammo pickup (which makes the game a whole lot easier) -overly loud ambient sounds -less enemies (in a few sections) -faster walking/running speed -everything is a lot brighter + you have a mounted flashlight that you can use while you shoot (which ruins one of the main gameplay aspects of the game) -can't skip cutscenes -static pause menu with no moody music -wrong/different walking sound -they cut an entire section of the Hell level in the RoE expansion -dumbed down Sewer section in RoE etc, etc, the list could go on. ofc there are a few quality of life improvements in the BFG version like, faster loading times, widescreen UI support, higher FPS/HZ support and it runs smoother overall, but nothing that makes me preffer it over the original. i do plan on making a no damage run of the BFG version in the future, but for now, i have some other games i want to run first.

1. I'm glad I finally found a playthrough like this. Doom 3 playthroughs and speedruns (I know this isn't a speedrun) are a rarity as it is, and they usually are a) not on Nightmare b) using the BFG Edition, or the RBDOOM3-BFG port. Nice to see someone giving the OG 2004 release the respect it deserves. :) Only other Nightmare run I've seen of Doom 3 on YT was a segmented speedrun that's probably close to 15 years old. 2. I completed a playthrough like this myself maybe ~5 years back, though my only goal was completing a deathless Nightmare run. Mad respect for going the extra mile and doing no damage and no Soulcube. 3. I'm on the Delta 1 part of your playthrough so far, and must admit I'm surprised by some of the weapon choices in certain places, particularly the Machinegun for all the Lost Souls in Enpro, as opposed to the Plasma Rifle. I've always found using the Machinegun on Lost Souls to be a risky tactic on Nightmare, given that they require at least two hits, and can charge in retaliation if you don't get the killing shot in quickly. The Plasma Rifle has always been a much safer alternative for me. I also much prefer Grenades for the Shield Z-Secs. Great playthrough so far! :) EDIT: just finished watching. Badass outro at the end! 🤘 Subbed!
thank you, glad you enjoyed it! the reason i mostly use the machinegun on the Lost Souls is for better consistency, since it's almost certain the shots will hit, while with the plasma rifle you can miss a lot of shots if they are in a mid-far range.

thanks! yea, it's pretty doable with the right strats but not super easy at the same time. i do believe a no saves run could be possible even, but it would require a lot of practice and patience, especially with later levels and the Sabaoth boss which has to be very precise if you're not using the Soul Cube. hope to see you running this game in the future!
Used this as a guide for both my speedrun and nightmare trophy playthroughs on the BFG edition, as I personally prefer that version. Great guide. The early BFG took me about fifty retries though to get - you make it look easy!
Incredible skills in this run. One can imagine a deleted in-game scene in which Dr Bertruger gets slightly confused as he watches a lone insane hyper-gymnastic marine singlehandedly defeating the forces of hell. I was born after Doom 3 was released and wasn't aware of it's (somewhat undeserved) "black sheep of the series" reputation when I first played it. Personally I loved the game and are glad it's getting attention from the skill challenge community.
This is amazing, no damage… perfect skills! Really enjoyed it. And the original game is even harder than BFG (where I got the no scratch achievement at Delta Labs 5).

I use to love playing this game back in 2004 on my Crystal Xbox, though not like this and rarely played on nightmare, as it was literally, a nightmare! 😫I was always a console guy since 2002, owning the usual 3, PS2, Xbox and Gamecube, also had a Dreamcast but never really used it much. Then, PS3, 360. Then Xbox One S, never had a PS4. Then moved to PC in 2017 with a i7-7700k water cooled, paired with an Aorus GTX 1080ti Extreme Edition, on a Z270 MSI Krait Gaming MB which I'm still using as of today, along with the Xbox Series X and there is no way I'm spending over £200+for one of those over priced memory cards. What a joke!!! Don't know why I felt the need to rattle all of that off. Just love gaming I guess. I had a question for you? How did you get the BFG 9000 so early in the game where that dead zombie was? I didn't even know that was possible, unless I'm missing something? Cool video, Bro!👍

It's funny that while having a gritty supernatural horror skin. The underlying skeleton is simply classic doom 1-2 with some additions, and balance changes to it. For example instead of having two shotguns. The rifle now fills the standard shotgun's role of the overall well rounded gun. With the regular shotgun itself now filling in the super versions role, as the close range-high damage option. It's a genuine improvement. Since There's no longer the need to juggle the same ammo type for two weapons with completely completely different roles. The problem is that the game itself does not really do a good job, at informing the player. That the shotgun is now filling in the super versions role now. Yes a actual super shotgun did get added in ROE, but the only reason for it's inclusion was due to fan outcry.
hahah, you're right. the way i usually overcome that problem is by shooting the enemy when it's facing me, that increses the chances of hitting all shots, but since i kinda shoot that imp from it's side i guess most of the shots went to the right lol.
I honestly like the more serious tone of doom games. The silly action of doom and doom 2 as well as the modern games are fun. But the more down to earth horror experiences are my personal favorite. I love doom 64, doom 3 and the psx port of doom for this reason.

I can't even imagine doing no damage, let alone on nightmare and in under 3 hrs. This game is the definition of "doing too much" like every 3 steps there's something trying to kill/jumpscare you and it feels like you're almost always pinned in all directions with no room to move...
Now I want to play doom 3 again 😩 I’ve decided that while it’s not a good DOOM game it is a great game by itself for what they wanted from it. Guess I’m Downloading it tonight
Decided to try this difficulty myself. Can't beat second stage. Shotgunners was always the most annoying enemies for me to deal with and now they can one shot me even on greater distances. Really wish this difficulty didn't have health decreasing gimmick.
Glad to hear the subtitles improved your viewing experience! I have added them for all Half-Life No Damage runs, except for HL2 Episode 1 and 2 which I opted to use the in-game subtitles.

Wow, when it is "no damage" run, it feels way more immerse. I watched it beginning to end without blinking an eye. Enjoyed it so much!
I imagine the multiple retry's you had to take because of the shotgun not even one shot most of the demons up close.

I can't even imagine doing no damage, let alone on nightmare and in under 3 hrs. This game is the definition of "doing too much" like every 3 steps there's something trying to kill/jumpscare you and it feels like you're almost always pinned in all directions with no room to move...
Now I want to play doom 3 again 😩 I’ve decided that while it’s not a good DOOM game it is a great game by itself for what they wanted from it. Guess I’m Downloading it tonight

Decided to try this difficulty myself. Can't beat second stage. Shotgunners was always the most annoying enemies for me to deal with and now they can one shot me even on greater distances. Really wish this difficulty didn't have health decreasing gimmick.
