My love and respect always for the Pakistan experience
My 2nd comment after finishing the podcast as Akber requested feedback (sorry for delay). This podcast has been a real eye opener and it HAS made entering the field of standup comedy very tangible for someone like me, you both did an excellent job in the podcast highlighting numerous issues new talent has to face. Also your untiring service to the art form which I was completely unaware of needs to be appreciated. I now love you two even more. Thank you!!
P.S. I just realized, the TH-cam ban in Pakistan in the early 2010s has had a severe impact on underground artforms like Standup comedy and sketch comoedy, this was the time when the content was bubbling and cooking in India while Pakistan was cut off and robbed of this great growth opportunity.
Great stuff man keep it up!
This is such a good podcast! Actually got a couple of ideas which I would like to elaborate on! Thanks!
Both good standup comedy. These Two deserve Netflix special
This podcast is literally tution for learning comedy which is absolutely great..great helping material for new beginners in comedy...
2 of the three pakistani content creators that I'm subscribed to in one video - the third being syed muzzamil. Love this podcast.
Was waiting for it, had a great insight on stand-up comedy in Pak, grass is definitely greener on the other side.
Yaaar this was really refreshing! I used to work with Zainab Agha and I can recall clear as day, everything you just mentioned about starting out and exploring both your craft as well as the local scene, play out almost in real time with her! Kher, behtereen raha ye wala; much love and geeli pappian to you😘😘😘

You guys must watch siraiki dubbing of the dingdong advert. It's too good, hilarious when they say khassan choosan dingdong.

What are stand up comedians gonna do about cities like Quetta and Peshawar to establish a culture of listening and tolerating roasting in those cities? Any plans? Or is it gonna stay relevant only for the bigger cities?

Yar where is all this standup treasure hidden? In live shows? When will it be available online, takay logon ko koi idea toh ho? I watch so many standup shows from India, if not full shows, the Indian comedians do release clips from their shows consisting of full jokes. In Pakistan, it seems to be all behind a paywall of ticket, and the ticket prices are exuberant and not affordable for middle class. Toh all of this standup comedy is kind of luxurious upper class entertainment, no?
@@ThePakistanExperience I understand the situation, even if the Indian comedian is not getting paid by Amazon/Netflix, they have a circuit of venues to perform at all over the country and they are also climbing the ladder of an eventual payday by the big streaming service, so there is a better pay off for making your material available for public in India.
Obviously same rules don't apply to Pakistan, I just wish Pak comics were a little bit more open with their content, making bits available online to promote the culture of standup comedy and comedy in general, to push the boundaries.
Also, why isn't stand up comedy supported more with venues and places? It is strange (and unfortunate) that the only places willing to host this medium are premium venues.
Perhaps there is no space left in middle and lower class areas for culture of entertainment, except for consuming food.
Anyway, big fan of both of you and comedy in general.
As an IU student, I find it offensive 😭
