The reason the numbers are difficult here is because the contract he's currently on is wrong. If he's bringing in much more revenue than the rest of the office, he shouldn't be splitting it in the same ratio as the rest. It may make sense to not just have everyone pay a fixed amount, but it doesn't make sense to have everyone pay the same percentage when they are performing very differently.
If he renegotiates his split, the net profit of the business goes down and then a standard multiple of net profit gives a reasonable value.
Correct!
Don't go into business with friends or family
he used daddys money and now he wants it all
The only people I go into business with is family.
@@Gumby6583 Your surname wouldn't happen to be Gotti, would it? ; - )
@@darkgalaxy5548what? Family businesses can be quite successful, people just need to be mature. And have a smart delegation of decision making and control of the company
@@ryans6186 No! Family is supposed to be your refuge from the rigors of business.
Really excellent analysis and advice.
Where can I watch the whole vid?
Go to the Podcasts tab, it should be there.
Soon its going to be Dave’s kids calling in asking how to get rid of him….
jean marvin brothers
gaza strips deaths known others
humming birds hover
Eagle landed huh
Well if putting out your own shingle is so easy why did Pops have to put you in business to start with? Now after all the years of support you want to act like he has no right to any of the value of your production. There has to be a happy medium somewhere that is more equitable than Dave's one sided suggestion.
It's much easier to start a new business when you're already successful. He would have needed much more help when he first started out.
Obviously.
@@glenchatelain3067 If it is obvious, why did you ask the question?
It's called a Rhetorical question. To your point it is much easier to start a new business once you are already succesful and established in a certain industry. My point is that the reason he is succesful is because his father put him in business to begin with. Now he wants to buy his father out but is looking to short change him on the valuation of the company.
@@glenchatelain3067 You are confusing two things. The success of the business and his personal success as a realtor. His father should share in the former, not the latter.
Sad to see all these greedy kids dishing their parents…
Not dishing
Son is ungrateful and greedy
I think he is confused and wpuld be better on his own
How? He is trying to do right by his dad, but he is also trying to be fair. It is going to be dicey no matter what happens. Even Dave agrees with him. No matter what someone might feel they got burned a little. It is a tough situation.
He is asking questions, not making ultimatums. Business people aren't idiots, nor philanthropists.
Being impatient yes
How is he being greedy? He is asking how to determine a fair valuation while factoring in he is the biggest producer. He's not trying to screw dad over. He's trying to figure out a fair valuation.
Ramsey team, STOP putting so many ads so frequently in your videos. It’s incredibly annoying.
TH-cam is doing that.
bro - free content, deal with it. It's what pays the bills
