    Nice sound!

    • @hardwareabstraction
      @hardwareabstraction  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I'm sure the Bakeneko is a solid purchase (might even have more flex) but this board really surprised me with it's price point.

    • @hello_2221
      @hello_2221 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hardwareabstraction Judging from the video the QK65 has more flex than my Bakeneko65, actually (though with the bakeneko65, the whole plate/pcb assembly moves, unlike the QK65 where it is "anchored" to the sides of the case). Adding polyfil definitely helped it have more flex (maybe even more than your QK65), but it made the plate slanted and uneven and I didn't like the look it, so I ended up removing it (which had little impact on sound). Maybe if they added some flex cuts it would be way better.
      Also, judging from other reviewers, the QK65 has much higher build quality and more weight/heft to it, which I would have preferred. -Plus it seems to have a sound signature I would have preferred more, and I have almost the same parts that you have (U4ts, and even the same keycaps).- (Just tried tape modding, and wow. I think I stand corrected.)
      Definitely still really like the bakeneko though! (Oh, and not to mention that the QK65 would've taken way longer to ship to me in America too.)
      By the way, I have a video on my channel of the keyboard in case you would like to see my bakeneko (it has the polyfil though, which again I removed)

    Hm how is the typing experience with pom plate and a tactile switch. Ive heard many people saying that pom and pc plate only go well with linears, and stiffer plates (like fr4 or brass) pair with tactiles

    • @hardwareabstraction
      @hardwareabstraction  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think at the end of the day it's just up to personal preference. I think a stiffer plate in some respect gives more tactility because its a harder more rigid surface the switch is supported from. By using something flexy there is a perceived loss of tactility, but all in all I can still feel the tactility and I actually prefer a bit of a softer typing experience.

    • @hardwareabstraction
      @hardwareabstraction  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was thinking of maybe giving this a try too, but some things to note is that the the grooves for the bottom chassis of the keybored for the socks/jackets are shallow as it is so you might have some trouble adding poron in those places.
