    This teaching is widely available today from authentic and ordinary zen teachers, via TH-cam. It used to be that you could only read about it and if you wanted to practice or learn to practice, you had to go somewhere. Now we can lay awake all night with wonderful insomnia and hear these words in our ears. So the distance is gone, the words are easily accessed in spoken voice from around the world in so many traditions. This means that false teachers have less influence as ordinary people realize their own true empty nature in this very mind. So thank you.

    Dear Will Rauschenberger, Thank you, for this talk. I like to listen to you different talks again and again, especially at the moment this talk. All you say makes so much sense, accordingly to my experiences. Your thoughts meeet my thoughts so easily and understandingly... It feels like coming home. English is not my mothertounge and still, i think you know what I want to say, I'm grateful and glad that I have the opportunity, via TH-cam, feel connectet with the Ordinary Zen Sangha. Greetings from my heart to all of you! Anne

    I practice Theravada, you appeared in my feed and I like your Dhamma talk thank you! In the Ariyapariyesana Sutta the Buddha talks of the deathless, through the Noble search. Metta to you.

      The Elders have the 84,000 practices, the Zennists have the 1 practice. Two minds, one body.

    If you read this comment pl do answer my Q. --
    I understand the Truth is one and IAMnot different from it.
    My question is this whole complex universal system functioning so accurately-is there some Supreme Intelligence in control of it or not?that Intelligence is AWARE OF every thing and every happenings in it or not?

    When you say capacity do you mean how much I can accept that I don’t exist

    • @pajamawilliams9847
      @pajamawilliams9847 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When he says 'capacity' he doesn't mean thinking about ideas. 'I don't exist' is an idea, 'i exist' is an idea, 'i neither exist nor don't exist' is an idea. Those ideas are not what you're aiming for. By asking questions like that you're looking at the finger and not the moon.
      Tonight, in real life, when the sun goes down, go outside and look for the moon. There is your gate. Can you enter it? When you enter it, can you stay there? Whether you can or can't, go and just sit. The sitting is the verifying.

    Nonsense. The gateless gate are the loosely translated English description of the Japanese experiential reference of a barrier that has no gate . Its a pathway within the experience of psychophysical reality that a novice monk reaches just before breaking through to experience "awakening". It is the final gate that the novice has to find within himself and pass through. What makes this barrier so difficult to pass through is that it's gate is not intellectual, philosophical or imaginary. It is a biochemical mechanism which has to be activated which changes how the Bodymind complex absorbs, generates and distributes energy. The novice struggles because he tries to intellectualize direct experience so that he doesn't have to be responsible. Next he uses mindfulness because objective awareness distracts him from his responsibility to master himself piece by piece. He avoids responsibility because of regrets that he is hiding himself from. The last barrier requires a very specific key that is forged through the reality of direct experience between student and master...

      Very interesting read, can you share more knowledge you have about the gateless gate. What is that key which is forged between student and master

    Bhante, you spoil the whole thing with your 'just this!' dharma. How can you expect us to keep fumbling around in the dark if we learn to light our own candles?
