    Hey Darren. Are you able to comment on the equipment performance after using it a couple of years? All still going as you designed?

    What sort of FIT are you getting from the power company and did you have to go thorough a lot to get it approved?

    Nice setup and nice work Darren. I am looking into doing a lower head setup with the Powerspout turbines. How are yours holding up after 3 years of service? Have you had any maintenance issues?

    Do you need batteries to support the system if you runs 8kw?

    Hey Darren. Is this system always this noisy or has a bearing gone out of whack? I'm thinking about installing one in the open and I don't wanna have issues with my neighbours!

      you could put a sound attenuation canopy over it to reduce noise

    Hey Darren. I am strongly considering building a system just like this!
    Can you tell me your Head drop height, and the VOLUME of water you are getting through each (or all 4) generators? (IE. 20 litres / turbine / sec)
    Thanks so much!!

    That doesn't look like nearly enough flow for 8kw. It must be an amazingly efficient sysytem, for micro! Great work! Do you provide consultancy services?

      Water could be coming from a high altitude running at high pressure.

      It’s “about 120m of head” so that’s massive pressure

    That is awesome how much head/pressure does one turbine require to run

      These come in different variations, this style works with as little as 3m of head, up to 130m. They offer other types good down to 2m and 1m of head.

      there are power calculators on the powerspout website.
      big head equals big power , 10 metres of head might produce 35 watts of power under one situation while 100 metres of head with good flow could produce 1000 watts

    Do you think there is any other way to get pressure without using a drop by the river

      Natural fall is how we promote our product, it will work off mechanically pressurized water but the financial return will be negative.

      @mrcomposer12 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darrencooper2727 I did so many research and I see that you claimed that 2.5 liter/second flow in each turbine head in your designed but replacing the natural fall of water with 1.5 hp electric water pump in each turbine head will give you a almost 4 kilowatts of free energy so you don't need a dam or free water fall to set up this unit

    • @darrencooper2727
      @darrencooper2727  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      price is very dependent on the site. Prices for turbines can be found at www.powerspout.com. The pressure is also dependent on the proposed site. this site has 120 meters fall

      yes we do in Tasmania Australia. We can go all over Australia but the travel and accommodation costs can make it expensive. We have done up DIY kits but if electrical is over 120v DC it must be installed by an electrical contractor, you can do all the water side of the installation

    well. the day i take this company 'seriously', is the day that the 90-Degree bends in the supply-side Plumbing, are ELIMINATED. cheers

      The bends do not restrict the performance the flow rate is not high , we have built and tested plenty of units. The turbines are running at the max warranted output.

    • @glumpy10
      @glumpy10 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      There are Nozzles in the turbine. The bends are irrelevant as long as the flow rate to the nozzles is greater than the flow rate of the nozzles themselves. Pretty easy to see the amount of water from the 4 Turbines is far less than what the supply pipes are capable of flowing and with 120+M of head, going to take a LOT of bends to slow that down.
      Of course the real tell tale to the foolishness of your indignation is the output can clearly be seen on the inverters and these things are not lacking in output.
      Telling someone to get lost, or stay in the creche along with grow up speaks volumes of your lack of maturity and intellect.
